    We have an OV on Sapphire; however, we booked the room directly so we know our view is only obstructed by a single pole on one edge. I'm not sure I would chance letting them choose the room, I don't want to pay extra to be behind a lifeboat.

    Several years ago we checked into the ship and then left on embarkation day to walk around the port area (this was in San Diego). They kept all of our luggage except what we wanted to carry with us that day.
