  1. Metal hook is fine -- MAGNETIC is the problem.

Good. I just don't trust the plastic hooks. The pouch thing, though, was a pain. My 10 year old wanted to unlock our stateroom door, but she didn't have the dexterity to get it out of the pouch fast enough.

  2.

Do not purchase one with a metal magnetic clasp though it will de-activate the sea pass card, happened to me.

Our dirt cheap lanyards had a metal hook to hold onto the pouch. This time I will definitely allow them to punch a hole in the card instead. We were never offered a lanyard in AO, either, but then again, we had something.

I'm planning on using our DCL lanyards.

  3. We are arriving in Bayonne on April 29 could anyone guide us on how to get from the cruise port to Newark NJ Penn station without giving a arm & leg.

The cruise line charges $28.50 per person to the airport. I looked up Lyft and it might be $16 for the smallest vehicle. We are five people so I am thinking around $30. Just put in Cape Liberty Cruise port and the train station in the fare estimator.

  4. My teens are really bad about unpacking on cruises. So I thought that I would get them those hanging closet organizers that you pack everything in and then put in the suitcase. So then (in theory) they can open their suitcase, hang up the organizer, and be more unpacked than they have ever been.

I've seen these organizers wide or long. I just don't know what will work best on a cruise ship.

  5. We met people on our last cruise that we doing it. We were waiting for no shows but there were none of those. :( However, we ended up doing off road vehicles instead. We were also waiting for no shows on the golf carts but they had this so we went for it. Ironically, at one of our stops, one of the golf cart drivers said that he was pretty happy with their choice of the golf cart until we floored it and took off. We paid $100 per person. We had the guide all day. He was great and I wouldn't hesitate doing this excursion again.

That being said, Hans, the owner of the Twizy business was fabulous and we wouldn't hesitate doing that as well. Hans also rents a house for a week for $600. Delta has a direct flight from ATL. We will do that as well. We absolutely loved Bonaire.

  6. I found a great deal on a 1L on Deck 12. Sleeps 3 but it is the only cabin available on that deck. We are 2 adults traveling with 3 tween/teens so we need to split the reservation if we don't do adjoining rooms. My husband doesn't really want to split the family that way or have the teens on a different deck, so I just don't know what to do.

I can pull an interior 2 decks down, not far from our cabin. Or I can just give up the 1L but I'm looking at those windows and that looks like something that we might want to do. How are the cabins that are on the front side of the spa?

  7. Ordering from a sit down menu is easiest. Everything is marked and they can have the chefs make adjustments. Windjammer, however, is a pain because they tend to use gluten as thickeners in foods that just typically don't have gluten in them. The chef can walk you around and give you the "Don't eat that" tour. I submitted my comment card about at least marking the GF items. We've done DCL and it is the exact same way except I can go to a crewmember and they will put in the order and deliver to me. RCCL never offered me that service.

  8. We are on the 28th but I'm pretty sure that the itinerary is identical. I think that the 14th sailing doesn't leave Aruba until 2:30am. I mentioned to my husband that the time changed and that we should do something that day. He said that it didn't matter because we needed to be on the ship for dinner anyway. lol

I found the information on the group sailing FB page.

  9. I can only find really old discussions about these excursions. They have to be modifications by now I should think.

So from what I can see, Seahorse sailing is $55/$39 for 3 hr 30 minutes. Rainbow Reef is $35/$35 for 2 hours 30 minutes.

What are the pros and cons of each of these excursions? I've already purchased our own snorkeling masks and vests as I've seen many a discussion about that.

  10. We are flying into MCO a day before our cruise. I was going to fly in that day but my nerves got the best of me. Now we are getting to MCO very early in the day before. What are my hotel options? Right now I can book a moderate in WDW for $152. Magical Express would pick us up and bring us back the next day. And we would have a day to spend in Disney (we have annual passes.)

What are my other options? I'm traveling with kids so I need to fill the day.
