  1. I know a lot of people don't like Belize but we loved it. We took an open air tram ride around the city and out into the local neighborhoods. We felt it was safe, everything well maintained and clean. No garbage on the streets or sidewalks. Saw local businessmen and students in uniforms walking around. We really enjoyed our time there to see how the locals live. Definitely take the tender and look around.

It was also sold out by about 1pm on the Panorama last year so it could have just already been gone.

No, I asked. She said they didn't make one. I was so looking forward to it after having it the first time-a real disappointment.

  3. On the Princess Instagram app there are lots of upset passengers. Some comments say that customer service is telling them the February 28th cruise will be canceled and all cruises through March . I hope this isn't true.

When we were there in June 2023 they were taking them down and we just missed them. I don't know if they've been put back up.

A local told us they always have them and the theme changes based on what's going on at the time. As you can see from my photo it was diabetes awareness.

  5. I LOVE the way Carnival does Anytime Dining. When we're 5 minutes from walking out of our cabin door I put in our request. It's always been a 10-20 minute wait (except for one formal night that was 20-30) and by the time we get to the dining room our table is ready. I really wish Princess would do it that way. (we alternate between Princess and Carnival) It's a nightmare on them having to wait in line or hope you can get a reservation earlier in the day.

Do you have their contact info?  I’ve looked for them on the internet too and their website doesn’t appear to be active and their last social media post is from April 2023.  Trip Advisor doesn’t even seem to have any way to contact the company or book a tour.

No, just what I found during my search. They will find you though! That's why I thought they were sketchy-they approached us waiting for our Uber.

  7. I don't know about chairs, but yes, the drink package does work when on a Princess ship. Everything is included like on the ship, but not sure if they have a limited selection or not. We had some kind of rum punch they were making and I saw beers.

LOL.  In a perfect world, that’d be great!  👍

I want to eat and run!  I don’t place a lot of importance on   food or the dining experience.

Unfortunately, it seems that the people with whom I travel don’t know what they want to eat or even have the forethought to look at the menu until their fanny hits the chair.

    Menu?
    Food?

    What’s happening? Where am I?

    Ugh.

I looked at the menu in the morning and knew what I wanted hours ago.

Looked at it in the morning? I'm looking at menus 8 months in advance of my cruise and have already picked out what I'm going to eat everyday!

I'm sure you can find a more detailed post about it if you search in the Carnival forum.  I don't know the specifics because I didn't have to do it, but I think you need to look in the app on the last day of the cruise and pick what time you want to debark.  And then they deliver luggage tags to your cabin that correspond to that time.  Or something like that?  It is meant to replace the old system where you had to line up and go to one of the lounges to pick up your luggage tags.  Maybe someone else who has used the new system can clarify?

    Thanks, sounds easier. (maybe???)

After that, we walked back to Punchliner’s for Jaylyn’s 9pm comedy show.  It was very crowded when we got there, but we were able to snag the same seats we sat in earlier in the week.

This was an 18+ show, but we appreciated that Jaylyn was very funny without being overly raunchy or using too many curse words as most 18+ shows tend to do.

The comedy show ended at 9:30pm, so we had just enough time to run up to Lido for a quick snack before we had to get Ian from camp.  Jason got a hotdog from the deli, and I got half a margarita pizza.  Neither of us had to wait in a line, so that was a nice surprise!

We got to camp just in time to pick up Ian before Night Owls started at 10, then we went back to the cabin to get ready for bed.  The debarkation paperwork was waiting for us, so that was an unwelcome surprise!  With FTTF, we were automatically given zone 5 luggage tags.  Works for me!  One less thing to worry about!  No need to mess with the new debarkation system in the hub app!

Up next: our third and final sea day

What is the new debarkation system in the app?????

I’m surprised to hear that Carnival has a Tea time (yea!) I’m really picky & this is my first Carnival cruise: Transatlantic on the Legend, April 15 from Baltimore.

    So, tell me more.

    What time?
    Is it every day?

Or is Tea on every Sea Day?

Are you seated in the MDR?
Is the tea delivered prepared and ready to pour?

(Or do they pass around tea bags to put into not-so-boiling water?)

Has anyone ever requested a tea kettle for their cabin? (In Dec. NCL Prima actually delivered one at my request.)

Several TAs ago we crossed on the Queen Mary and the TEA was the only reason I would sail Cunard again (it was that good).

Thank you for indulging me this one peculiarity of mine.

    Cheers,

    Susan

It's usually every sea day in the MDR around 3PM or so. You can get the free Lipton or upgrade to one of their better options. (I had the Cheers package so I got the tea for free, this time I'll bring my own since I won't have the Cheers package) You get your own pot of water and LOTS of food options.

Of course you can bring your own.

If you have Cheers, Carnival offers a decent selection of Art of Teas teabags that are included with Cheers. They're $3 a bag otherwise I think which is ridiculous.

Regular old Lipton black and green teas are available at no charge for everyone.

I believe you can also request coffee at afternoon tea if you'd prefer that.

I forgot about that. Last time I had the drink package, this time I won't. Let me go add tea bags to my packing list!

There are some amazing vegan chesses now but whatever Carnival used did not melt well.  It tasted ok but I also have issues with that weird texture so I mostly picked things without the vegan cheese or asked for it without (breakfast sandwiches).  My husband doesn't mind the texture as much so most of those pics were of his food.  We just picked up the new oat milk Diaya last week and highly recommend!!  It melts super well, tastes great and has much better texture melted than anything we have had so far.  We even made quesadillas and mu husband was in heaven!  😄 I still prefer Vio Life for unmelted applications but that is just my preference.

Thanks, I'll try it again at home, but probably not on the cruise. I'm with you, I can't handle the texture. (and the look of it)

I’m a vegetarian and try to not eat dairy as much as possible. Plant based cheese has come a very long way!! I didn’t have any melted cheese on the last cruise just what’s on the Cesar salad, but YES vegan cheese is amazing now!

There are still some crap ones, but Miyoko’s brand is fantastic! Plus there are a lot of small companies making great vegan cheeses now.

I guess I'll try it again, thanks.

  15. Over on the Princess boards I just found out they have afternoon tea items in the buffet. I never knew this and always go to the MDR. I will be on the Carnival Magic this year and just wondering if Carnival also puts afternoon tea items (small sandwiches, scones/cream/jam) in the buffet. One of our sea days will be spent using the waterpark and I don't really want to hurry and get cleaned up to go to the MDR so this would be a nice option.

Yay!  That is my review!  Glad you enjoyed it!

OP - Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer as best I can.  🙂

Not the OP but I do have a question based on your pictures in the review. I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years and the last time I tried vegan cheese was probably 25 years ago. It was horrible! It looked like plastic and didn't melt at all. Just recently I was thinking of trying it again, thinking it HAS to be better all these years later, but based on your pictures it looks like it still doesn't melt real well. Can you tell me your thoughts?

    Every day in the buffet.

Sea days in MDR: 3-4 or 3:30-4:30, something like that

    Free of charge.

I always go to the MDR so I didn't know the buffet had it too. What all do they offer in the buffet?
