I am aware that the recommended tip amount is being increased by $1/pp, beginning just after the new year. This is such a con-artist move. I honestly NEVER understood why ANYONE would prepay their gratuities. I somewhat understand the perspective of peace of mind to know everything is paid for before you sail, but what if you get poor service and don’t want to tip the full recommended amount? Also, when you prepay, your cruise line get a hold of your money that much sooner, and they collect interest based solely upon your generosity to pay more money than you have to, well before your sailing. I would NEVER prepay for gratuity. In all of my sailings, I always ended up paying the full recommended amount of gratuity (and honestly, more often than not, even more than that)...but why pay early and give the cruise line your money early?!

Just had an email from Celebrity with 'updated ' gratuity rates effective on all sailings after Jan 2nd. All daily rates are increasing by $1 a day. This doesn't affect any prepaid gratuities and of course they say you can pay up now to avoid the increase.

Anything further you'd like to add, Cruisefan0000?
p.s. Biker, I am now waiting for both of your "resurrection" and "popcorn" photos. Thank you
How unnecessary!

Black Friday Sales are ACTIVE on the Cruise Planners!

There was a 25% off on drink packages for my February Freedom Cruise in the cruise planner this week.
I’ve been checking every single day, and I’ve had no such luck. I’n really hoping they have something for Black Friday or Cyber Monday!
-
Sometimes, if it's a special or particularly good sale, RCCL will classify it as "New Bookings Only". This has been happening more and more often in the past few years.
Ooooh! Well you can either book a sure thing, or gamble for something better. I prefer sure things. But I understand why you may want to wait!

Hoping for the price of voom on my sailing to go down less then $14! Got it for $12 on my last sailing
I already purchased my VOOM Surf and Stream, and it cost me slightly over $14/night after all taxes and fees were added ($14.39/night). But hey, another $2/night savings would be cool. That’d save about $14 on the package. Put that together with a 20-30% discount on the drink packages and we are in business!

I’m hoping for a kids sail free promo.
These promos are great, only if you can be very flexible with your travel dates. My wife and I are both educators, so whenever they have the kids sale free, the dates I can travel are always in the blackout dates. So unfortunately, that promo doesn’t really help us.

That's a great deal!
Now I wonder.... do I rebook my cancelled Majesty cruise on Nov 21 (Tues.) - the day the new repositioning are set, or wait just three more days and see if there might be something better on Friday morning before I leave for work? Decisions, decisions.
Rebook, and if anything else comes better, they will always match the price.
-
I am sure there will be a sale, just whether it will be any different than all the other "sales" is the big question.
Yeah, a lot of these "WOW" sales are pretty much just the normal prices. There is always some sort of "sale" going on. Hopefully they actually offer something that is worthwhile to the consumer!

Have not heard anything yet. I liked Cyber Monday 2015. We got $400 OBC on a 5 night cruise and it was combinable with our balcony discount. Don't think we will be seeing that again
Wow, that is ridiculous! Yeah, I wouldn't anticipate seeing a deal that good, but I'd be happy with a 20-30% discount on the drink packages. Better than nothing!
-
Would be nice because the date that I have to make final payment for my next cruise is November 27.
Hm, that would be fairly helpful for you then! My cruise isn't until July, but I always love a good discount! ^_^

Think Royal Caribbean will have any Black Friday Cruise Planner Sales like they did last year?
-
Not to a number of folks.
Don't get me wrong...I love technology. I used the Royal IQ app daily when aboard Anthem. But I was hoping this announcement would be about a new ship, added ships to Bayonne, new itineraries, better drink packages (or more discounts), etc...
-
Worked for me too! As you said, nothing to see on the app yet, just the schedule for an event and directions.
I really hope this 11/7 announcement isn't just about this app. That would very disappointing. They should give out free cruises to everyone. THAT was be a good announcement! :')
-
Hmm. maybe because I'm already using it? Try some other rccl name.
Biker, who wonders if the real CEO plans to use the app.
It worked for me when I tried it again.
But not much to really look at within the app...at least not yet. We'll see what happens.
-
As I mentioned in a previous post, use the CEOs e-mail.;)
Would that be mbayley@rccl.com
Because that didn’t work for me.
-
I don't think so as they signed a long term deal in Bayonne (thru 2043). Maybe, Celebrity will sail out of Brooklyn.
I think they should raise the Verrazano up, so we can get some Oasis Class ships out of Bayonne! [emoji23] What could that possibly cost...a few trillion dollars? Lol it would be nice though!
-
Well all rumors will be expelled tomorrow when they announce the new 2019-2020 itineraries!

Since when?
Adventure is moving up to Bayonne this Spring/Summer. I’m sailing on it in July to the Bahamas.
I read about Baltimore from another posting.

I think this is likely the 19-20 itineraries. But if they are hinting at Adventure, it could be because that ship is going into a dry dock soon and then is moving to Bayonne for cruises to Bahamas from NJ. I know they are moving Adventure to NJ and adding more ships to Baltimore as well.

Royal Suite Cost?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Does anyone know what the Royal Suite costs per person on Adventure of the Seas? I realize this may vary based upon the date of sailing, but looking to get a ballpark idea. This is the one on Deck 10, Room 1620. Thank you!
