  1. Hi all. For the life of me I cannot find out where our princess ship will be docked at our ports. (I know it’s subject to change) I can find the times, what other ships in port with us but not where. I used to know a website that gave this info but can’t seem to find it.
we are at Vancouver, Ketchikan (I think this one we are right at the town), Juneau and Skagway(are we at Broadway dock?). Any help would be appreciated thank you

I’m on the Sapphire Princess now. The Captain came over the speakers around noon today with an update. There are crew onboard with the part needed to fix the issue and it seems that it is now replaced. They will be stopping the ship this evening between 8 & 9 pm to reengage the starboard screw (propeller) and run tests. As long as all goes well we should be able to get our scenic cruising in College Fjord tomorrow. So as long as this solves the issue all should be fixed tonight and cruising will resume as per the itinerary. Which, since we are on a b2b cruise, bodes well for our return journey.

I hope this alleviates the anxiety of those on upcoming journeys. I’ll try to remember to update after the tests this evening.

Oh I so hope you guys get to do that and that all is fixed and your return is all good! Thank you so much for the update!!

You should also be able to see it in your reservation under “Itinerary” as well as “Travel Summary.”

Oh I am sorry. I meant how did I miss this post. I’m on the 25th sailing so I am really paying attention to what happens with this next week’s sailing but I had missed that person posting that they had a communication from Princess.

About the only alternative even if the problem remains, would be to allow people for the next cruise to cancel for full refund with other expenses refunded, but little or no FCC, of some FCC in place of covering other expenses. That is what they have done during similar cases in the past.

I would love this option! I wasn’t ever going to cruise with Princess again before all this happened so a FCC wouldn’t do me any good. Especially if it had an expiration of a year and a half. Just let me get out of this deal now so I can plan something else.

  5. Yes, Ruby, which sails 2 days later is sold out.
I get what you’re saying but this isn’t like a port cancelled because of weather or something unforeseen. They are dealing with it right now so they can’t claim ignorance. But I agree with you. I don’t think they will cancel and we will be at their mercy. Can’t cancel because I’d lose all my money. And there is another couple with us also. Good grief, what a mess.

  6. Sorry, at this point, I don’t even want to chance it. (I’m on the may 25th sailing) But I’m forced to go if Princess doesn’t cancel ahead of time because as a NY resident we cannot purchase CFAR travel insurance. We’ve got insurance, just can’t have that kind.
If we get on that ship and we don’t get the full tour…while Princess KNEW 2 WEEKS before that Sapphire was in trouble? 😡

Same here - and I'd never have known if I hadn't read about it on the Sapphire propulsion thread. We had 2 Sterling reservations for our 6/8 sailing - not a fan of churrascaria at all and there were comments somewhere about sides and salads being at the buffet - WHAT?! I'll probably end up canceling the reservations once on board but do want to check the menu first. But then again who knows if my cruise will even be sailing at this rate! Kind of annoying they didn't notify people with existing Sterling reservations of the change.

Which sailing are you on? I’m on 5/25

If there is another move over offer for the next few sailings for Sapphire Princess, people should seriously consider those offers and take them if possible. At this point, it is better to be on another ship as the full impact of the propulsion issue for this ship is still unknown. I imagine people on the current sailing are regretting not taking the move over offer last week.

There was a move over offer? What was it? We are sailing 5-25. I’m wondering if we could do something now.

You don't need reservations for the MDR. Walk-ups are happily accommodated, possibly with a short wait, depending on dining time..

Sterling Steakhouse is/was a portion of the buffet. Back corner. Screened off and setup with white linens, flowers, table service, etc just like CG.  While yes, buffet area, it didn't really feel like it and it was somewhat screened off an private - no doubt the new venue is similar in setup..

Instead - for a truly memorable and amazing intimate romantic anniversary meal - consider the Ultimate Balcony Dinner.

$110 total for two. Includes a four course meal served course by course, with filet and lobster, welcome cocktail, half bottle champagne, flowers you keep and a photo you keep. It's amazing, delicious, paced really well, the staff is usually quite unobtrusive and anticipatory. So much more special and intimate than banquet dining in MDR or specialty - and minimal extra cost, particularly with the included drinks and keepsakes..

    Happy anniversary and enjoy.

Thank you for the idea. But we are with family, another couple and their first cruise so wanted it special. It’s ok. Now reservations are the least of my concern with a ship that needs help. Haha

  10. Man if I would have known that I’d just eat in the MDR. Much quieter I’m sure. But now I’ll never get a reservation there. Idk. So, so many things have happened with our cruise planning, it’s been a nightmare. And now propulsion issues? Second cruise with princess and I believe it will be our last. We’ve been with 3 other cruise lines and they were much better. Ugh.

  11. Oasis class ships, specifically Symphony of the seas, I’m trying to see which cabins would kind of overlook where they have the musicians in Central Park. I think it would be above Jamie’s on one side and Park cafe on the other? Is this correct? And I’m thinking like deck 11 if some are available. We’ve done deck 9 with CP window and loved it but would like the balcony.
