  1. The reason I am not as fond as the Solstice ships as the M Class is the abundance of specialty restaurants. I have found the MDR less full ( could be wrong) which takes away from enjoying the same table and getting to know people. At most we may go to one specialty for dinner. I also do not feel the upcharge is worth it for us.

  2. A wonderful resort with a great 1950s retro feel. We stayed three days after a

holiday cruise a few years ago, There were large beds around the pool area overlooking the ocean. Lovely grounds. The hotel beach/bar food is too pricey even for a resort.

    We would go back anytime.

  3. We buy the large Celebrity white or navy mugs embossed w/ "gold" which state the ship's name and pic on one side and ship facts on the other. Only sold in the high end clothing store, not the gift shop. Unfortunately, most of the wording has faded away after years of use. Hoped to get a full set but they keep adding ships.

This began because I needed a mug to use on board ( hate those little coffee cups). Now I just buy a new one on each cruise.:D

  4. While I love to read good literature, I chose light reading for vacations. Anything by Bill Bryson ("Walk in the Woods, etc) he is a hilarious travel writer who's books are filled w/facts cloaked in humor. All of the "Sweet Potato Queens" books, "Confederacy of Dunces" "Wicked", etc.. There are just too many to recommend. I also look for books long enough to last more than a few days, and only carry paperbacks on trips. Celebrity offers a lending library ( with very limited hours). I've actually suggested an on-board book exchange for passangers on my post cruise questionaires.

  5. I have never gained more than a pound or two ( max) on 7 day cruises. Please note I have a lousy metabolism and a gain weight very quickly! Celebrity has excellent choices, I eat a light breakfast in the cabin, spa food for lunch ( which I actually prefer), a resonable dinner, and splurge on dinner desserts and the afternnon tea that offer great sweets and tea sandwiches. Oh yes, I also love those French Martinis. For me, this balance, along with lots of walking/exploring. If I ate all of the food available I would gain so much that I would never allow myself to keep cruising every year. I certainly splurge and enjoy, I just don't eat all of the constant temptations all day .
