Your pictures of Venice were incredible, I do not belive I have seen better and love your review. I am not a big Carnival fan but I did like the pictures of the ship, I thought there were some really nice areas and may have to re think doing a cruise in the future.

I know this is a little late, but could you tell me how comfortable the seats are on the Auto Train. My hubby and I would like to take our Harley down to Florida, ending up in the Keys. I really don't want to ride the bike both ways up and down the coast, so thought that the Auto Train may be an option for us. Are the seats like what you would find on a tourbus??? Unfortunately, hubby can only stand those kind of seats so long.

 

Oh, and I am thoroughly enjoying your trip report!!!! Keep up the great work!!! You sure do have a lot of people accompanying you on your trip(us CCer's:D). Cabin feel crowded yet:p??

I took the Auto train when I moved down to Florida, the seats are comfortable but would strongly recommend getting a sleeper cabin it is well worth it for a good night rest.

I have tears streaming down my face and my dog is staring at me like I have lost my marbles.

I have to echo that I was laughing so hard from begining to end you missed your calling..I loved everything about this and want to travel with you and the goats wherever you go.

I have read your last live thread and it was wonderful. I knew that you wife had passed away after that cruise what a fitting tribute that your doing for her. My thoughts and wishes are with you today and do enjoy your cruise I believe your wife would want you to have a great time and so do we.

If you paid $750 for a mini I'd be really surprised if a penthouse went as low as $1200...Most of the time I see the AC's they are in the $2000 to $2500 range PP for a 7 day. Lets say that the AC was at $2000. They would discount it 30% first then if they couldn't sell it that way they would discount it to 50%. So it would be $2000 - 50% - what you aready paid....you would owe $250 PP.

 

Bryan, on the Pearl cruise I am taking in December with my military discount the prices I quoted is what I am paying for the mini suite and thought that was a steal. The penthouse is going for $1200 PP thought that was a bit high. In following your math I see how you did it and that makes sense. I am also understanding if I am seeing a penthouse for $1200 PP your saying that is also a good deal as well LOL and here I thought $700 more was expensive for the next catergory even with all the perks. I guess their going to pass on me for the upsell. I do appreciate that you explain it to me thanks so much.

When do they contact you for an upsell, we are currently in an Aft Mini suite which is a location we like. The price for a penthouse is currently $500 more then the mini suite which I find to far out of our reach. We do not cruise on the Pearl until December and booked our cruise through our TA. I would not be opposed to upgrading if the price were right.

The one thing Princess has over RCI is the 24-HOUR restaurant/Windjammer. RCI needs that..... or at least make the Seaview Cafe 24 hours. That would be GREAT!

 

Keep the dance music in the Lounge with the LARGE dance floor. - - Had the dance band upstairs in the Viking Lounge with a "Postage-Stamp" dance floor, and the "Kareoke" (does NOT need a dance floor) in the dance lounge. :confused: duh...

 

The food has become "mass produced" and bland. The $3000 cruisers should not have to spend an ADDITIONAL $20 for a decent cruise meal.

Wanted to offer my thanks to you Bonnie for your pictures of aft cabins. It was helpful in making our selection on NOS we are in the corner aft on the 7th deck. We can hardly wait...Thanks so much for your insight and time you have taken....AFT RULES!!!!!!
