  1. It’s been a while since we’ve cruised, and we’re debating the 11-Day Southern Caribbean Seafarer.

I noticed that HAL changed the Promenade Deck... and we loved to walk it. Is the entire view blocked by lifeboats now?

Obviously personal preferences. We enjoyed our Feb. 2018 Caribbean trip for itinerary, staff, music variety, food - especially Tamarind and walked the promenade noting some views and seating, although definitely skinny in places! Happy enough to now book the 11day trip Feb 2019.

  2. As a HAL newbie, I was interested in your review. We were on the K'dam Feb 25 - Mar 7 and would happily sail on her again. We enjoyed the service, entertainment, food eaten in most restaurants (only went to MDR once and don't do gala nights) and the ports, explored on our own. Obviously everyone has different expectations and I am not bothered by state of carpets, lack of signs, mispronunciation in elevator of deck names, although holes in bedsheets would get my attention. Hopefully, individually we will all find a cruise where the pros outweigh the cons.

  3. 2 of us recently ate at Canaletto on K'dam, went with the suggestion( not necessary) and barely had room for dessert. It was a good meal all round. Visited Tamarind twice, excellent service, venue, food- steak, lamb and sushi - didn't fancy lobster asian style, especially on first night with 25% discount. Also enjoyed happy hour 1/2 price tapas at ATK- helpings seemed to be regular size! Also ate at the Dutch cafe. Decided to try out variety of places other than MDR and enjoyed all.
