  1. We both can’t remember exactly but around a couple of hours. At times we were in sight of the railroad track but not always. We were mostly sauntering and enjoying the scenery. There was a little village we passed through and we poked about there.

I remember having snacks and drinks with us.

Yes, they are, but my question is whether that information is somehow coded on the systems that TAs and/or Celebrity's own agents use. In other words do those professionals have to use the same trick? My sense is there isn't a separate indicator for professionals. The reason I ask is on a separate Facebook Celebrity forum I was having this discussion about bed placement and someone said just check at the time you're booking your cruise with whomever you're book your cruise with and they will know. I chimed in that's not necessarily the case.

We frequent the Hard Rock Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ and the check-in agents have a cheat sheet for one of the hotel towers as to which rooms have a walk-in stall shower vs a bath tub/shower combo you have to step in. My sense is Celebrity doesn't provide that kind of information.

Sorry this doesn’t answer your question but I believe the indentations only indicate bed placement on E-Class. I’ve found Celebrity agents to be clueless on this issue.

We were on the 6 Jan departure in a suite and we were prioritised.  Through in around 15 minutes on arrival at the terminal.

As suite guests We were prioritizing at the check in terminal also but it took us almost 3 hours with the long, long lines outside and then the disorganized mess in the baggage scan warehouse!

There was no priority there and and all the people who ignored the queue and pushed to the front and into the door were so very rude and added to everyone else’s problems.

Wow.  Unacceptable.  We had an awful two-hour embarkation experience on the Eclipse in Valparaiso on December 23. It was my 53rd cruise and the worst ever boarding, with long lines in the chaotic terminal and then a long wait on the shuttle bus to the ship. The worst of it was my scary wheelchair ride up the dangerously steep gangway.  Then there was another wait as we stepped onboard while all of our names were radioed for approval.  I had a meeting with the Guest Services Director Marina (after a second request to Guest Services).  She listened to my story and explained some of the challenges that Celebrity had that day.  The immigration authorities required immediate passport collection onboard, which slowed everything down until Celebrity negotiated a day's extension (midway through the day) to collect them.  The changing tide made a lower (and safer) gangway unusable.  Data transfer from the terminal to ship had delays.  She sincerely apologized, and said that they would work to do better.  Then she treated my family of five to dinner at Murano's.  Please speak to her about your embarkation experience.  Celebrity needs to hear from us when something is unacceptable, or they won't change a thing.

Are you still onboard, Beth? Celebrity is certainly hearing from us! We’ve had no sign they are listening though. We’ve made complaints to Guest Services and our Retreat Host.

Glad to hear your on board with your luggage.  Michaels can be iffy on some cruises.  We have seen it well supported by crew and passengers and then very quiet at times.

Question. Were you having to move your luggage the whole time you waited before you could drop the large bags on the belt. No porters available to help.

    Thanks

No porters. No help of any kind. Only a couple of shore staff at the entrance to the warehouse. We were over and over hefting our cases over curbs and through muddy potholes on a very crude, uneven sidewalk. It was bad!

Sheila & Jim, We are so sorry to hear about your terrible embarkation. Hopefully, your cruise is going along perfectly and you both are having an amazing time!!

Not amazing but nothing really to complain about. Somethings seem a bit ‘off’.  Michaels is so dark with no natural light and not as warm and welcoming. There is no assistant (no lovely Michelle) so service is slow. Our Gourmet Delights are nuts - only nut🫤

  7. After you placed your suitcases on the belt you moved to a different section of the warehouse to await transportation to the main terminal a 10 minute bus ride away.

I think, just to allow this situation to get moving faster, we didn’t have to scan our carry ons, backpacks or purses. We didn’t see the cases again until they were delivered to our cabins.

    • Thanks 1

  8. We are currently on the Jan 6 sailing on Eclipse. The are no IPA beers available in Michaels, wine selection is limited and the 2 scotch DH enjoyed in Michaels on Constellation in November are not available. The Evening “Gourmet Bites” alternate between almonds or mixed nuts.

Wow... sorry to hear.    Was there any access for Suite passengers?   Or those with CheckIn times?

No access in the outdoor line. Talking to many people around us in line none were paying any attention to their check in time. When we entered the bag drop warehouse it remained one line sharing 2 luggage scanning machines. It was crazy - when the belt filled up the machine switched off while those 10 or so suitcases were picked up by

porters and carried to busses. Our waiting time was about 2 hrs 40 minutes at this point.
We had a short wait for a bus and the bus to fill up and were then driven to the checkin terminal where we saw the first Retreat signage🤗  Of course by now Luminae was closed so no lobster rolls for us.

  10. OMG - After 50+ cruise the very worst embarkation ever! From taxi drop off at the port to boarding the shuttle to the ship was over 3 hours! The first half was out in the open in 88 degree heat. We did have some rain which was a relief. I cannot tell you how far the line stretched but it was many, many blocks. It got really ugly as we got close to the terminal entrance with buses unloading and passengers pushing to the front of ‘our’ queue. There was little attempt to control the crowd by terminal personnel. Once inside the warehouse like building some control was enforced but it was sweltering, still chaotic and zero communication!
Sail-away was scheduled for 5:00. It’s now 6:30 but not everyone in onboard. Our tile reports my bag to still be in the terminal.

I could go on and on but I won’t. Plenty blaim to go around but I now have a glass of wine in hand and life is good🤗

Thank you. This additional information is very helpful. I will also check out the private FB page. Do we contact Celebrity directly concerning the 7-day cruise or does someone eventually get in touch with us? Its been about a month since we reached Zenith.

Thank you for asking these questions, Dan. I have taken screen shots of Jim’s answers and others. Looking forward to checking out the Facebook page.🤗

We are In Buenos Aires - boarding Eclipse tomorrow.

Came to give an answer to my own question.

I’ve had my MoveUp bid acceptance confirmed at 31 days before sailing.  Deluxe Concierge Veranda cabin upgrade to Celebrity Suite on Eclipse.

    Very excited 🥳

    Catherine

I also heard yesterday - we on the 6th Jan Eclipse with you. Our move was from Concierge to an SS corner aft. I’m happy🤗
