I have the weekend to explore Manhattan before my cruise Dec 2nd. Ill be stayng in NJ for the weekend. I do not want to drive my truck in and out of Manhattan, thinking of using the PATH train from Hoboken to nyc is this an easy thing to do?? Parking close to terminal??

I have never been to Manhattan cruise terminal, but after watching a few online videos It looks like the lines can back up and you can be waiting outside for a while. Not sure what sailings these were, but should I come prepared for an outside wait in December, cruising on the Norwegian Gem, so not a huge ship by any means.

I was not aware of all the other stuff near the pitons. Im trying to research and plan 6 ports its a little mind numbing so far. Thanks for the suggestions I think I will look into the tours. Id be interested in some hiking, seeing the waterfall, maybe the mud bath also. Ill see what I can come up with.

Has anyone gone on their own to explore the pitons? Rented a car, scooter, taken a taxi? Would just like to explore nature on this stop as the island looks beautiful. So im looking for ideas on how to best do that. Thanks

As far as I know none of my ports will require a tender.

New cruiser here. Im just curious as to the times listed at the various ports during my cruise. For example if my port time is 9am-1pm does that mean the ship is docked and ready to let passengers off at 9am, returning to ship by 1pm or are the times the actual arrival and departure times of the ship? Im trying to figure this out in regards to excursion planning!!

Most cars fit 4 passengers
Are you suggesting I do not know how many passengers a typical car holds? Lol
As stated, I have not used uber much, just for myself a few times. And Im not sure if they limit the number of passengers regardless of vehicle capacity.

I have not used uber much and never in NYC, is it easy to get an uber for 4?
-
Well maybe ill find a cheaper option lol
-
Ill be doing the same thing in December. Same hotel, 2 days before cruise begins, so we will want to explore the city. There will be 4 adults no kids. We are thinking of using uber to get into city, unless the hotel has bettter ideas.

Nothing worse then a beat up beer lol

Do any of you know if bottled water is included with the Ultimate Beverage package? Single bottles.
Never mind I just answered my own question, it is not covered.

Thank you both very much. Prices are not horrible considering the amount of the cruise I suppose.

Your cabin steward will remove all the items for you. removes the temptation and allows you to free up the space for other stuff.
Other stuff? Well maybe if i bring something back to cabin i guess. I think I read that no drinks are allowed to be brought on board. But you can pre purchase a case of water for like $25 if you want lol. I have a lot to discover I guess!

Thank you I appreciate the info.

Hello, will be sailing on the Gem in December, in a regular balcony cabin. I see that the cabin has a mini fridge, and I have noticed that it has mini bottle of alcohol or other various drinks in some of the videos I have viewed. What is normally stocked? And will I be charged for using any of it? Im a new cruiser so im just curious!

Thanks for all the info. What I gather is I will not pay anymore as long as I stick to one entree. Now as far as the tip, I have pre paid gratuities as part of my booking, will I still be responsible for the tip at specialty dining spots?
-
535.....lol

I need some help understanding the specialty dining package. If I were to buy say a 3 meal package, does this mean when I go to dinner and use the package i wont be paying anything for my meal regardless what I order, or is this like a gift card where you have a certain amount towards your meal and you pay the difference over that? Thanks for any help!

Well i've never been through customs at all or been on a cruise can anyone tell me what debarkation is like as far as customs?
-
All Im really worried about is getting on a boat in NYC and getting off same boat in NYC 11 days later. No TSA no ICE just customs lol
-
I wont be taking any flights to get to port. It will be a closed loop cruise from NYC and back. Thanks for the info everyone
-
Thinking about taking what I need for the cruise and coming off the ship with none left. No issues then

Come to think of it I really dont have any prescription meds, I was just going to use it for vitamins and supplements I take and also things like advil and tylenol and such so I dont have a bunch of bottles floating around my luggage

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I actually selected the earliest time in hopes of beating the lines, checking in, then waiting for boarding.
