  1. Hi, Has anyone gone to Fishermans cove in Halifax, & how did you get there? We were thinking of going there instead of Peggys Cove. Its only 20 min. from cruise ship, where it take almost an hr. to get to Peggys cove & it sounds like to many tourist.

  2. Hi, thank-you for all the great info on whale watching. We have nothing going on in St John so that would be great. I kinda of figured it wouldn't be easy to figure out the weather but when you can only take one piece of luggage each you try to eliminate things. Haha

  3. Hi Everyone,

Anyone who has gone on the NE/ Canada cruise in late Sept. I'm trying to figure out what the daytime temp. is like from Boston- Halifax.. Don't know if we should bring shorts & sleeveless tops or just stick with long pants & long sleeve shirts. Any help appreciated. Also are whales still able to be seen & where is the best place to see them.

You can use US currency and coin in Canada ... but your change will be in Canadian money. You don't really want that because 1) Canadian money is worth less than US money and 2) you can't use Canadian money in the US.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my home bank can easily provide me with Canadian money. Just yesterday I spent $247 American to buy $295 Canadian. So start with your own bank and see what they can do for you. You can travel prepared!

  5. I live just outside Saint John, NB. Most of the stores uptown where the cruise terminal is will take USD, the same goes for Halifax. If you want some Canadian cash, there are several banks near the cruise terminal as well as ATMs all over the place where you can get some CAD. Make sure to save a toonie and loonie for a souvenir :)

Looking forward to coming to see Saint John & Halifax. Thanks for the info.

  6. We will be sailing the same itinerary September 16 from Boston. When are you leaving? Don’t forget to join the roll call for your cruise. And welcome to Cruise Critic.

We are going Sept 27, leaving from Baltimore. Figured do my research now to find best of everything. Thanks
