1. Next door. We had 1702. If your cabin steward is Jose say hello to him for us. Ken, Vikki, Sarah and Toby. He was great. If you have a GO PRO camera there may also be a mount attached to the metal balcony divider that separates 1700 from 1702. Enjoy. :)

We will have to look for the mount, was it a self-adhesive type or a suction mount?

We had the Ben & Jerry's Suite when we first booked, but the wife couldn't see herself on a cruise without a balcony {balcony snob}:eek::D, so I waited till there were price drops a couple weeks ago and found room 1700 for the same price so we jumped at the chance to get a corner aft balcony. Our son and a couple of his friends booked this cruise also and has room 7408, so we have the two best cabins on the aft!:D:D:

  2. It varies by ship and Captain. Last week on the Liberty there were no loungers on any of the aft balconies. I asked the steward about getting one and he said the captain had ordered them removed for safety reasons. He did tell us that while he couldn't get us one that we should just borrow one ourselves. We borrowed two.:)

It wasn't in room 1700 was it where you took the loungers, as we have that corner aft in a couple weeks. I was going to do the same thing if there wasn't any loungers on our balcony, go up to the upper deck and get a couple loungers! It is strange on the Liberty that they don't allow loungers on the aft cabins, all of that room on the balcony and no furniture!:rolleyes

We have had loungers on all of our aft balconies over the years.

  3. You could expect cool temps in Florida, if they happen to get a front thru there, but for the most part it will be in the upper 70's to the mid 80's. We usually cruise in January and February and the temps have been very pleasant, but the people from Florida will be wearing coats and we come from the frozen north and are in our bathing suits and think this is the best weather ever!:D

  4. Depends on what type of cruiser you are, if you like the sea, and finding a peaceful spot on the ship to read a book and enjoy the view of the sea, not a lot of crowds, then the Radiance class is for you.

If you like a ship full of activities, ice skating, rock climbing, flow rider, parades on the promenade, then the Freedom class is for you! Not that you couldn't find a quiet place, but it does have more to offer if you want to do it.

  5. We just did the same thing last January, got a great deal on the Indy for a B2B. We had 16 of our friends and family with us on the first week, and watched them all have to leave, and my sister and her friends came on for the second week. It was great watching the first group have to pack their bags and head home to the cold while we had another six days of the warm Caribbean!:D:D:D

  6.
We are Emerald - got the survey last week, but we are booked on 2 upcoming cruises that will push us up to Diamond.
We usually sail in a balcony, but last cruise, for an anniversary, we were in a full suite, so we had a few survey questions about the Concierge Lounge, and quite a few "would you prefer" questions relating to balcony discounts .
I guess the surveys are tailored to your sailing history - but hope it may just mean some changes to those savings booklets - I'd hate to think they are going to change the Diamond benefits, just as we are getting close....
We are in the same boat, our cruise in January will get us to Diamond, so I hope nothing happens till then and maybe we will be grandfathered in!:D:D:D

  7. Not true at all. I've walked up to many a bar and have NEVER had my card swiped.

Indeed, many people on here talk about how they save their sea pass cards with the sticker and flash it to the bartender, covering the name of the ship.

ETA - My apologies....I thought folks were talking about the soda packages, but it appears it is in reference to the alcohol packages.

I believe when we last had the Coke sticker, that they didn't swipe our cards, but for the liquor package, they always did.

  8. We had our Canon EOS T3i at Dolphin Discovery this past January, and had the telephoto lens on and we got great shots from the observation area. The only thing is that you will get side shots of everything as they do the tricks from left to right and not right at you like the photographers from the park will get, so if that doesn't bother you, then you will be able to get the shots from the observation area.
