If you are Gold with RC you are not Select with Celebrity. You are Classic with Celebrity. You need to be Palatium with RC in order to be Select with Celebrity. You need 30 CAS points to be reach Platinum with RC. You reach Select with Celebrity with at least 2 CC cruise points. The reciprocal tier level matching only goes to Elite with Celebrity. The reciprocal tier level matching only goes to Diamond with RC. Also CC and CAS points do not cross over.

I just reached Select with Celebrity. Select requires 150 CC Cruise points which I just passed. RC Still shows Gold. I'll see if it takes some time before RC updates to reflect.

Fully agree. Your point about suites, is a good one. In the future, someone will need to fill them. And, on many of the RCL ships suites seem like an afterthought, or to skimp on amenities unless one is staying in the highest tiers. For example, many of the RCL ships do not have a coastal kitchen, and those that do,  don't have capacity except for top tier suites.  Oddly, however, that may mean having to go to Johnny Rockets or a double cheeseburger for dinner!  The prices for RCL suites is also through the roof, and often seems significantly higher than Celebrity.

Fully agree about RCL suites. No one believes me when I tell them how much lower the cost of entry into the full range of suite benefits is on X as opposed to RCL. Sure you can get a Junior Suite for less, but that gets you a minimal list of benefits and amenities, including Coastal Kitchen for dinner when available. Then if you want to add on the drink package, wifi, etc, you're really getting up there. As opposed to X, which a Sky Suite gets you everything, AND the Deluxe Beverage package, wifi, etc,

That’s the laziest way I’ve seen someone discuss a topic.

Someone disagrees with me?  They must be “arguing in BAD FAITH”!!!

I’ll save you the time and trouble.  I’m not going to discuss something with someone whose only response is BAD FAITH!  BAD FAITH!

When you're telling me to explain why something is attractive, when I've given what I see as the benefits and high points of it, that's asking in bad faith. I think I've been pretty willing to entertain your particular brand of "discussion".

Is this attractive to you?  Even if I want a beach cruise why is CocoCay more attractive than staying on the ship?

I very much enjoyed Coco Beach club when we were there last November. It's not my job to sell you on something that you decided however long ago that you aren't interested in. For me, I like the more private beach that I don't need to find transportation to, and I like the upgraded amenities included in the beach club.

I’m talking about Coco beach club where people said is more quiet and less kids.

Ah I see. So the chair and umbrella, private (less crowded) pool, beach and poolside wait-service, shorter bar lines, light breakfast offerings and table-service lunch? A bit more than just a chair, and, as has been stated multiple times, the $300 price tag is not necessarily accurate. Just like anything else, price varies and one should book it when the value is right for them.

That sounds like the exact opposite of our Perfect Day visit. Maybe we were just there on a bad day, or the two mega ships in port overwhelmed the staff (which would be a poor omen, IMO). The thumping bass audible everywhere we went definitely precluded any “quiet” beach time. I’m not a big beach person, but when I do go, I just want to hear the ocean waves — nothing more, nothing less — and I couldn’t enjoy that with a background dance-club beat. But, to each their own.

We found the Chill Island area to be much more quiet.

This part of the FAQ on the Celebrity site made me laugh and roll my eyes at the same time.

Is there an adults-only space at CocoCay?

There are no adults-only spaces at CocoCay as we want everybody to enjoy the island.

But what if to enjoy the island, I need an adults-only space? 😎

    (Reference: https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/perfect-day-at-cococay)

As others have mentioned, they're adding Hideaway Beach, an adults-only area.

We visited Coco Cay (pre-“Perfect Day”) sailing on Reflection in Dec. 2015, so it’s funny to me to see “this is the first time ever!” news coverage We visited again in Dec. 2021 on Harmony of the Seas (now “Perfect Day”d); we were there along with Independence of the Seas. The beaches were overrun and overcrowded, bars couldn’t make anything beyond basic beach cocktails (not even a Dark ‘n’ Stormy — no ginger beer to be had — and bartenders seemed to only know how to make the five or so on-menu drinks, anyway), and there wasn’t a spot on the island where I couldn’t hear the constant “thump thump” of the dance-party DJ at the pool. At least the buffet lunch could handle the crowd. Not to mention how expensive and extensive all the add-ons are; I miss a more inclusive feel to a private-island day. It wasn’t relaxing at all. To me, it seemed like what I imagine a Carnival Cruises atmosphere to be, and we went back to the ship pretty early. I wouldn’t bother getting off the ship there again, and would probably pick an X itinerary if it doesn’t go there — I know we don’t look at RCL itineraries out of Florida any more, in part because they basically all go there.

Our experience on Coco Cay pre Perfect Day was similar to yours. Since then, however, it's a much more enjoyable stop, with places to enjoy some quiet beach time (and a better bar experience!)

Price out comparable RCL cruises. When you do an even comparison prices are very similar.

An infinite veranda, same weekend, similar itinerary, two adults is nearly $6,300 on Icon. No drinks, no WiFi, no gratuities, paltry OBC if any. An Oasis class ship could bring it down around $4,000.

Right. I'll catch heat for this, but a certain generational segment here gets highly offended when they feel they are no longer 'the target demographic'. The reality is Celebrity has 5 new ships to fill if they don't eliminate capacity. 15,608 new berths since 2018. The metric they use is available passenger cruise days which is at an increase of nearly 5.7 million since 2018. The new to cruise and new to brand people typically start out with short cruises just like many people here did. They need to bring new people in somehow. Catering primarily to an aging population just does not work and does not make sense.

I think Celebrity has been moving to capture that lucrative 35-50 DINK (Double Income No Kids) demo that has grown over the past decade or so. I can tell you that personally, my wife and I were over RC and have moved on to Celebrity as it was more our style. We also enjoy the ease of Coco Cay, so having that as on option on an X sailing is huge. We don't do the water park, but private beach with food and beverage included, and no transportation needed? Yes, please.

Be aware, the coco beach club day pass is now around $300 per person and the beach club cabanas are around $3000 per group.

Prices vary greatly. We watched it start around $150 for our Anthem cruise last November, hiked up to $275, then we caught it at $120 and booked it.

And there are a few different Beach Club Cabanas to choose from.
