Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Would be the second Microsoft software ship name after Edge! My thought is that Xcel too closely matches the naming convention of the Galapagos ships. Xpedition and Xploration.
  2. Fully agree about RCL suites. No one believes me when I tell them how much lower the cost of entry into the full range of suite benefits is on X as opposed to RCL. Sure you can get a Junior Suite for less, but that gets you a minimal list of benefits and amenities, including Coastal Kitchen for dinner when available. Then if you want to add on the drink package, wifi, etc, you're really getting up there. As opposed to X, which a Sky Suite gets you everything, AND the Deluxe Beverage package, wifi, etc,
  3. Stop trolling. It was a disingenuous way of asking a question.
  4. When you're telling me to explain why something is attractive, when I've given what I see as the benefits and high points of it, that's asking in bad faith. I think I've been pretty willing to entertain your particular brand of "discussion".
  5. Ok then try bringing your questions in good faith.
  6. I very much enjoyed Coco Beach club when we were there last November. It's not my job to sell you on something that you decided however long ago that you aren't interested in. For me, I like the more private beach that I don't need to find transportation to, and I like the upgraded amenities included in the beach club.
  7. Ah I see. So the chair and umbrella, private (less crowded) pool, beach and poolside wait-service, shorter bar lines, light breakfast offerings and table-service lunch? A bit more than just a chair, and, as has been stated multiple times, the $300 price tag is not necessarily accurate. Just like anything else, price varies and one should book it when the value is right for them.
  8. Beach chairs are free. Cabanas and daybeds cost to rent.
  9. We found the Chill Island area to be much more quiet.
  10. As others have mentioned, they're adding Hideaway Beach, an adults-only area.
  11. Our experience on Coco Cay pre Perfect Day was similar to yours. Since then, however, it's a much more enjoyable stop, with places to enjoy some quiet beach time (and a better bar experience!)
  12. I think Celebrity has been moving to capture that lucrative 35-50 DINK (Double Income No Kids) demo that has grown over the past decade or so. I can tell you that personally, my wife and I were over RC and have moved on to Celebrity as it was more our style. We also enjoy the ease of Coco Cay, so having that as on option on an X sailing is huge. We don't do the water park, but private beach with food and beverage included, and no transportation needed? Yes, please.
  13. It makes a lot more sense when you split it among a group.
  14. Prices vary greatly. We watched it start around $150 for our Anthem cruise last November, hiked up to $275, then we caught it at $120 and booked it. And there are a few different Beach Club Cabanas to choose from.
