  1. In 2018, we did an AA direct from IAH connecting in Charlotte to San Juan the day of sailing. Left early, landed in SJ around 4ish. Took a taxi to port for a 10PM sailing on the Fascination. It was the best 6 port itinerary we've ever taken on Carnival.

No problem at all and sailing out of SJ at night is awesome.

  2. Last year on the Ruby out of GLS, Princess drink package kicked in as soon as we hit international waters, if you sail at 3, your package will start about 1 1/2 - 2 hours later.

Prior to that due to TABC laws you are required to purchase Texas alcoholic beverages (those paying Texas tax). You are also charged for those. Most people use their OBC for those purchases, however we bring a couple of bottles of wine which suits us fine.

Yes! we just learned this the hard way!  we purchased special bottles of Rum in December and it was irritating to pay taxes in Galveston. Never again.

This is done after you have clear CBP and down towards the exit. They  only ask if you bought any liquor, they do not search. As for you, YMMV

This may be up for debate honestly.  On another board it seems that Royal Caribbean sailing out of Galveston allows the use of a beverage package while in Texas waters and does not charge guests while in port using these packages.  Princess seems to be the one restricting use of the packages, which I witnessed on the Regal last November.  Again, this was coming from multiple people that stated their experiences on RC which I have not personally experienced.

Why the difference between lines?  I can only speculate.

Not just PCL, CCL out of Texas doesn't start their drink package until the 2nd day. IDNK when the mouse or NCL starts their package. One can only guess it might be CCL wants the passengers to pay the liquor tax and not them. The saga continues............................

Booked through cruise line. I'm really glad about that now since the weather has been so crazy.  If the ship is unable to dock or a port gets cancelled, they will issue a refund.  If you book through another venue, it's not guaranteed.

I really wanted to book a Sloth/Monkey encounter in Roatan, but there aren't any through the ship.  I'm going to see if I can join last minute as Roatan has been a questionable port these last couple of week for some cruise ships.

Goggle Victor Bodden Tours for Sloth/Monkey encounter.

Currently on Regal Princess. They took out half of club 6 and they are currently setting up more slot machines. One table and maybe 25 slots. Only a couple are operational now and casino staff are working on getting the games running.

The digital hold em poker table is gone and is replaced by a bank of six aristocrat curved screen slots that are not turned on yet.

If you get a chance, check on the status of Churchill's. Open, closed, what are they go to do with it?

    TIA

I think what happens there is the bottom of that box lowers allowing people to get in and out while the curtains are closed and he’s making the weird gestures to give them time.

Then from my stage tour we know there are trap doors on the stage that go down to lower decks. He goes down one of those and then runs upstairs for his reappearance.

Totally understand, saw Seifried and Roy in LV back in the 80"s. Still don't know how they got those doors tigers to disappear.

No, the app sucks. There are 9 of us on the Regal New Year’s cruise. I made Dine My Way reservations 5 months ago for all 9 of us in Concerto Dining Room at 5.40 pm. Rechecked the reservation a few days ago and this what I get now “Party split across multiple tables”. A call to Princess off shore agents told me to ignore the message and just go to dining room on first night - yeah, right!!!

see the Matre' d and $20 will fix everything.
