  1. I have done both.

My son got married at Paradisus cancun in 2021   very lovely very nice place.  WOULD pick over the mexican riviera cruise.

Panorama cruise is fun not to be missed    Mexican riviera was not my favorite.

NOW if it was a choice between any of the caribean/bahamas ports then i would say its a toss up

Have them go to the kids meet up the first night, force them if you have to, then they'll meet people to hang with.

I believe at their ages, they can check themselves out with your permission.

My suggestion, give them freedom and let them know it's a test. Keep it together and out of trouble.

(But still keep them on a short leash with Hub app and texting)

    THIS...

we meet so many people on cruises with their kids in tow who said they didnt know about the kids meet up the first night

my daughter was really shy and we would take her the first night she would make a couple friends then they were week loig buddies and she had an amazing time.

Officially no.  They want to make sure that the drink that is ordered is going with the person it belongs to.   Unofficially, it happens, depends on the bartender.  Maybe order drinks together to put a face with the card (and tip) and try to deal with the same bartender.

    LOL  YEP..

there were 5 of us on the Horizon in July and we would send our  daughter and my wife with all cards to get lattes in the morning.   Overall she was successful but a couple times barista said everyone had to be there  lol

THANK YOU.....I do understand a bit better, now we will see how well I take to it in real life LOL

The elevator system is really not that bad  just FYI.  a elevator usually comes in a reasonable time unless the lobby is super busy.

there is no charge for the skyride, ropes course.  the trampoline park  is in a different area of the ship and there is a charge i forget the exact price but i think it was somewhere around 7.00

I think it was in PV. where the Carnival  ship docks  there was a little shopping plaza and there is a sign that states Beach right outside with metal fencing.  DONT goto that beach  we walked about 30 min down that beach and there are zero services.  It seems to be a beach only for the hotels and we couldnt even determine if we could just leave our towels on the sand and go in the water.

Very often team members know their managers get all the money and they will get nothing if a tip is reported.  Corruption is everywhere.

LOl i learned from a  friend that worked at a job where tips were pulled together

There is one pocket where all the big bill tips go.... and another pocket where the small bills come out for the pulled tip jar  🙂

Thank you all, I was trying a few more options, and it looks like Carnival Breeze 5 day from Galvenston could be within our budget. It stops at Cozumel and Progreso.

I think 7 nights will be difficult for us, but will look into Panorama too

Breeze  is out fav ship....  you will have a good time.

and Panorama is a great ship also  Mexican riviera is not the Caribbean but you will have a good time here also. Do the rhythm of the night excursion  great dinner and show

    Welcome to Cruise Critic @miles2go2go!

I've been on both ships and to all the ports.  Let me try to help you make the best choice for YOU.

There is no doubt that the best port of the 3 is Cabo and this will give you the best sense of what a more typical tropical cruise is like.  It is true that the Pacific ocean is cold and that you will likely encounter windy conditions, most often on the return trip up the coast.  That's simply the reality of sailing the Mexican Riviera.  Miracle is one of the 4 Spirit Class ships built for Carnival back in the 2000s.  She has a wonderful guest/public space ratio so you'll likely never feel crowded but she has fewer features like specialty dining.

Radiance is a fully retrofitted ship that just had $200 million in modernization upgrades completed within the last 2 years. Even though she's a 20+ year old ship, she practically feels brand new.  She has essentially all the features you'd see in 'modern' Carnival ships.  The Catalina itinerary consists of Carnival's two 'weaker' ports.  Of course there are fun things to do at both but you'll never find someone saying 'Yippee! I get to go to Ensenada instead of St. Thomas!' I'm sure you understand.  One nice thing about the Radiance itinerary is that they basically get to drift around out in the Pacific because Ensenada is so very close.

Here's the other thing that's true. The Radiance cruise will likely be significantly cheaper.  The 4 day run (done every Monday to Friday) is often Carnival's lowest priced cruise. I've literally seen it for $99 per person during the slow winter season.

Now you mentioned flying to the port. From where? Unless you are out on the west coast I'd like you to possibly consider other embarkation ports.  If it's the same price to fly to Houston, I would certainly suggest a laundry list of western Caribbean itineraries. You'll get lots of good input here.

    And again, WELCOME! 🙂

    LOL

    very eloquent reply ......

basically i beleive this  recommendations  if you are already flying in to choose another port such as Galveston or a Caribbean destination  LOL

catalina is nice, Ensenada is well..  a craphole  😞

Cabo would be my choice. but i prefer bahamas cruises but we live in cali so sometimes plus airfare is cost prohibitive.  so we have done the cataline/ensenada cruise lots of times

The buffet may have a few items that were left over from dining room the night before. We were on the Panorama in October, the dinner buffet was very limited and not very good. My hubby doesn’t enjoy the drawn our meals in dining room either but thought the buffet was bad and he is not that hard to please, lol! We went twice to the dinner buffet and a few times to the breakfast buffet which was quite good but the exact same offerings every day. Blue Iguana, Guys Burgers and the pizza were excellent and we enjoyed dinners at Guys Brewhouse, Jijis and loved the Bonsai Teppanyaki. There are plenty of options besides the MDR on the Panorama, it’s a great ship!

    KINDA THIS

we were on the Panorama on Thanksgiving.

for the Lido buffett for dinner it was like the same 4-6 items daily

none of them looked really appetizing.

But it was not the same menu as the dining room items.

For embarkation lunch, go up the stairs near the rear buffet, to the Asian or Italian restaurant (there is an upcharge for dinner, but both are free for lunch).

When we were on Panorama a couple months ago, the buffet was crazy busy during embarkation and people could hardly find a free table.  We went upstairs to the Asian restaurant (it's called JiJis at night but something like the Asian Wok during the day).  It was very quiet with just a few other couples in the entire restaurant.  Service was amazingly quick and the food was really good.  By later in the week people had figured it out and lines were long and service was slower.

My other favorite thing about Panorama is Fresh Creations on the serenity deck (made to order salads where you select the ingredients and they put it together for you).  Really good salad with different options than their typical salad bar.  We grabbed a salad and brought it down to a lower deck and we had like 8 people ask us where to get it.

We ere on the Horizon the Panorama sister ship in July.  both of these tips are legit.

the salad is realllly good  i was impressed.  and the embarkation day for the mongolian wok was not crowded.  service was a little slow.   we are n Panorama for thanksgiving week so excited

Clicked through and discovered that for what this place charges for one night, I could book a really nice balcony room on Carnival for an entire week.  At that price, the food should darn well be better than Carnival's!

i would like to see a comparison with Drinks (cheers) and excursions

since this really is an all inclusive resort and affiliated with 4 or 5 eco parks also.

we had a coupon code when we stayed here for 5 days .  it was great.

Enjoy your all inclusives in the future.  Oh and by the way where did you get that good late night meal at your all inclusive?

mmmmm....... at Xcaret  i liked the Street Tacos way  better than i liked the fine dining.

and they were open later than the restaurants
