OK so here I go if I think of other things later I'll add to this. We flew in and took a car too Comfort Inn Seabrook. Came to about 93.00 Hotel 55.00 for a car ride from Hobby. They have a great breakfast extremely helpful and a shuttle to the ship in the morning for free. Ordered pizza delivery that night was just fine. Lots of people stayed there some parked their car there because they drove it was free. At the port others parked for 70.00 - 80.00 depending in pre pay.
Embarkment- They are in the middle of nowhere. SOOO it is a small terminal and they were delayed due to ??? They had a large tent for overflow people because they boarded late. You were through to get your key card and usually that is when you head onto the ship, no they than give you a # and you wait. It was hot in the tent and it was a 1-1/2 hour wait till they started call elite (we were at the terminal at 12:30ish.You could go right to your room got there about 2:45.
Cabin- Mini-suite on Emerald deck with complete coverage. Recommend this as it was very private and nice have had the dolphin deck and prefer it covered. We asked in advance for a top sheet and egg crate and the bed was heaven.
Steward saw us everyday had ice bucket everyday and night ready and anything wanted was done.
Buffett- For the 1st 4 days Everything was served by the staff salt/ pepper in packets Food was nice you can get omelets for breakfast and ask for lemonade and ice tea is served. Ice cream is good as is pizza and burger
Coral Dining- This is great for breakfast and dinner excellent food and nice to meet new people(we ate here for those 2 meals the most
International Cafe is a must !!
Trad. Dining- Palm dining was excellent! We had a great table and service was great the food had enough variety, Fish was good and beef was good. You can always order another entrée to try something else too. My husband and I would split something we wanted to try along with our main meal sometimes.
We have tried both anytime and traditional we now lean toward traditional as we have decided we are on a cruise and enjoy having great talks with table mates and being taken care of by our servers. My husband said waiting till called is like being at home waiting for a dinner out and this gives us a change. 1 couple from out table tried it a night and came back saying it was nice but liked doing something more cruise like for them.
Formal Night- It was formal we saw the most tuxes than any other cruise we have been on. Lots of dark suites too. We saw some with white shirts and ties and no really dress down unless it was after dinner. Women were in long dresses, beaded dresses, nice cocktail dresses and pants with beaded tops. This was not just in the formal dining but all about the ship. (Nice to get dressed up for one another)
We did not sail till after 6 pm waiting for some late comers and allowing the people who drove to get parked and board. It was a long line of cars later in the day and they accommodated for those people which is really great not anyones fault that there is time needed to get them all parked.
Muster was easy and indoors and set so those who may have special needs
found it easy and cared for.
Ports:
Cozumel we shopped at the pier since we have been here many times
Rotan _ It was clean and the people were very welcoming we went to the Monkey reserve had a great guide and had fun. Time enough to do some shopping . It does have stairs and walking and some of the people had to say they didn't feel they could do the tour/ they had no problem with that and offered a golf cart tour. This may be helpful to know for some
Belize- They tender out further than they had before so it is a good 25 min to get to the pier. We went on the Lamiani tour and it was excellent. Ride out on a bus, than speed boat to the ruins. (Note" the bathrooms are very nice compared to what we have seen elsewhere ) Beware that this is a lot of walking and rough walkways. It is not for anyone with concerns. We saw a woman with heat stroke and it does get very hot a humid, they give you lots of water be sure take it. Lots of wild life to see too Boat ride back and they had a small buffet that had rice beans, chicken, coleslaw, and fired sweetened plantains. They had bottled fruit drinks and beer if you wanted to buy it 2 for 5.00. We would recommend this tour.
Weather- nice with floating clouds everyday the 2nd to last day we hit a bit of a storm so rain but great on board activities. Movie in the princess theater in the afternoon.
Entertainment_ It was good The illusionist was very good and the rest of the shows were nice. People loved the piano guy and bands all seemed good.
Lobster night is the last formal night with baked Alaska was wonderful.
They do charge you corking fees.
Disembarkment- Easiest we ever had they do not yell out huber or colors so the mooring is relaxing, you can have breakfast served to you in the Palm doing until 9am and the buffet is open too. This is nice for a good start for those who are driving too.
Some bad:
The tent you have to wait in. The location of the port, crossing your fingers about fog
Some good:
The ship looked very clean, No Noro, good food and port tours, they had broke a wheel off our new hard side Jeep luggage, they fixed it for us and it got us home and we have the form for paying for its replacement .
Sorry this is long but I will also add some of the tips I found to help make the cruise nice. Ask any questions. Forgive any spelling. I have to make dinner darn someone did that all last week for me !

Just got home from our cruise last night from Houston and lots of things to give information on. From waiting to embark and a bit of a late sailing to some good thing to know. I'll take some tine here a bit later and post my good, bad and oh well list. Most of all I can saw it was Fantastic and this is our 15th cruise and one of our favorites. More later.

Thank you ! Great info. We sail this weekend and you answered doe lingering questions we had. Hoping we are going just before spring break - breaks !
-
We sail Saturday hope for a good scrub down !
-
Sorry for the Late reply but the Comfort Inn is at 5755 Bayport Blvd, Seabrook. Just hit all the needs of the cruise and coming from out of town my husband would rather be closer to the ship the morning of the cruise than out at the airport. 1st time we are going out of Huston other ports are usually pretty close. The free shuttle and breakfast helps too. Hope we all have a great cruise. looking like fog is slowly leaving as a worry. Price with a discount code came to 79.00 but saw most are within 10.00 of them all.

We're excited to get on board and love the review. Realize that someone higher than us is in charge of weather and we plan to go with happy hearts to be on vacation and not i the office. We plan to dress up for each other on formal night and a tux makes me feel like my husband spent some time getting ready to bring a smile to my face. We women spend time primping to look nice and have a special night ( or some may enjoy having things more casual). Either way remember this is your cruise and time away ,enjoy it from start to finish just the way you want. I think reading all the reviews and advice let's us get more excited and plan things to do and this is our 14th cruise !

We too are sailing out of Bayport and got a good deal at the Comfort Inn. We fly to Hobby and have a car taking us direct there. They said they could strop but the hotel has a shuttle to the pier AND their shuttle will take you to near by places they said like within 5-10 min drive. They also have free breakfast in the morning so it covered our needs.
-
YES you can. I put a few hundred dollars on mine to cover the tips, excursions, and odds and ends you use your ship and sail card for. I have a savings account once I book our cruise and put money in it here and there and than it isn't such a big bite when we go on the cruise. We also seem to have everything and it has made a great gift from family to put 25-50 on it as a surprise for us, they love that kit is easy and no shopping required AND well used.
-
We to sail in twenty days and have our happy faces ready. Only worrry is fog and hope it gets better with the time of year. But being on vacation on the sea is always wonderful. Did wonder about excursions if moved to Costa tried to see what they offered so could have a backup plan but princess doesn't let you access them. Any idea.s
-
Now that they have been running awhile ,is there a lot of taxi's waiting from the pier to go back to the airport? Anyone experience the cost from the pier back to Hobby and cost? Having heard about the delays wonder if they are waiting or mayhem when everyone comes off the ship.
-
Have heard about the Comfort and that they shuttle so we booked there to, Very reasonable, Getting a ride from Hobby there the day before the cruise and hoping fog will be gone in a month ! Time to think about what to pack ! This has been a great review and fun . Thanks !

We did one on our last Alaska cruise for a balcony. 699.00 per per on ended up with a great Caribe deck room great balcony and 1/2 covered. Great for Alaska but for the Caribbean we got a good mini suite fully covered but… picked that cabin. It is a dice roll but like waiting for a surprise and not sure if you got the best one.

I always bring a ziplock bag with soap , some dryer sheets in a smaller baggie and the shout stain catcher ( you can put colors and stuff together). I always have left over and give it to someone who looks at the soap machine in confusion. I have had 1 x where a "gentleman" came in while I was waiting and yanked a finished washer's cloths out an put them in the corner in a heep. Swearing about people hogging things. Funny he had just walked in I had been there awhile. The washers' owners husband came in and I was sure I was going to get a boxing match. I went and called the pursers desk and they said it was for public use, I than advised they would have to deal with the damage a fight might bring. Up came security and 2 men got to go to the quiet room.
So make the loads small, watch 'um , dry 'um and be kind and share if you have extra supplies.

We sail in March and hoper that approaching spring will bring better weather and the ports will be there. I did get some good advice to plan the shore excursion from the ship so you won't worry about refunded or missed ports. Made sense since lots of post of fog and missed ports.

We noticed Carnival being less formal than our cruises on Princess from Hawaii, Alaska, and the Caribbean. We found ,to our surprise ,Alaska was the less formal on formal night But the others Princess cruises have been traditional and we found dark suits and tuxes. My husband says, why not dress up for you a couple of nights on a vacation , we've been planing and looking forward to. That's what caught my eye 17 years ago. We are in business wear all year long and enjoy a dress up night that does't have the company air about it. So I say dress what makes you comfortable it's your vacation!

I agree. Be sure to sign in I was looking at a March sailing mini suite on Caribbean and just went to the sight 949.00 for balcony, signed in and 10 min. later got 789.00 for nice mini suite on emerald deck covered balcony. My husband said just grab it we can adjust later if needed. Did so and went back to check a few hours later if maybe same price, different location and it was up to 899.00. Hasn't come down at all. I think it's hard some times since you want to be sure and check with spouse but maybe some perks will come up to balance the trip for you.

We are getting an exec. card to take us to hotel and just want a comfortable hotel with maybe breakfast or a grocery store close by. The care rates to either city is within $'s so looking for a hotel. We'll get a taxi for in the morning of the cruise to the pier
-
Just wondering which city is best for a hotel night before cruise and any ideas of a good one that may be near a store or such for soda. We want to be closer to the pier instead of at the airport and going to the port the morning of.
-
So traveling out of the Bayport terminal.. Is it best to get hotel in La Porte or Seabrook? Anyone stay at one and liked it for being close to the port? We fly in the day before and would rather be closer to the port than the airport.
-
We sail out in March and hope it will be better than but alas we are not in charge of the weather. We're going the day before and book late flights the day back. Our airline said that if there is issues they will change flights to work. They did this for us before when the tsunami in Japan kept us out to sea for safety. Never any fun for anyone to have the trip changed or miss fights though.
-
Just a quick question if you are booked in a mini suite do you be to board earlier because it is a suite or not?
-
We have e728 on our up coming cruise and are very excited !! We have been on the dolphin deck several times and the only draw back we have is the whole balcony open. Just don't feel quite comfortable in robe eating breakfast on the balcony or such with others looking down even yelling out questions when we really were"t into talking to them. I love the mimi suites and this is the 1st time we were able to get the covered on emerald. The ta at princess said it was the last one they had come up and we got a great price. So very very excited but like everyone says it is a personal choice. BUT it is a great location too. Have a great cruise!
-
Does anyone know of a close hotel to the port of Houston for the Princess cruise that has a shuttle to the ship? We want to ttravel to the hotel from Hobby the night before.
-
Ok odd we did see in Sept on the Golden people had the 12 pack of beer in thier carry on and they wrote itn in the sheet with the wine. Maybe the Alaska port is different, Thanks

There are 32 Comfort Inns in Seabrook we stayed at the one on Bayport and did so through the web, the one on Nasa highway was higher in price.
So Husband reminded me of good and bad TIP's
Adult pool had family with kids in diapers in it. Signs all over for adults only Staff said they could not ask them to leave we suggested the health issue with a diaper. Than one couple told them straight out it was for adults let alone the diaper issue. One day it was as hot as a hot tub so wonder if they were killing germs???
Not too many kids yet on the cruise.
Fog , we talked to locals and they said as it get's more and more to spring less likely.
Be sure to aced for ice in from the tap and all water is luke warm
Bed if you have had knee or shoulder surgery ask for a egg cart top
Wear good sturdy shoes to any ruins
Room service was very good and always advise time frame
Glad I had a small travel steamer
Shower has a shampoo/conditioner and soap/gel ok for husband I liked my own stuff
There was no Hair/make-up mirror in bathrooms like other ships
Shops have lots of stuff if you see anything in fine jewelry I'd recommend getting it many are only one on the ship/BUT on shore has great variety
There are taxis all waiting at 10:45 when we got off the ship
Southwest will only take your bags 4 hours before your flight
Recommend a flight keeping in mind any delays
Group at our table drove and really like being able to park so close
said once they got close they had about 30 min to get to a space and such so they liked it
Sanctuary cost more now from what we heard it was 20.00 prior did not hear it was crowded
but our table mate said she was glad she did it for 1/2 days since found she did other things
Have a fantastic time and enjoy !
