I’m glad you have had a good experience.

And no we don’t all sail in the penthouse (I certainly don’t) but your point is well made: it sometimes sounds like it on here and other boards.

Ha, so true. If I had a nickel for every post that begins with those famous words, "I'm Elite on Princess..." Well, you know, I could stay in one of those Penthouse suites.

If they do not have a definitive answer, the problem needs to be passed up to the next level of support. If the next level cannot be contacted within a few minutes, then two things should be done:

    a) A promise that will be kept that the next level of support will contact the customer within a reasonable amount of time....and

    b) A phone number with proper extension that the customer can call if the customer does not receive that promised call back.

I would have loved to have shouted my hallelujahs when I read this. These very words have been floating in my brain since Princess changed our Itinerary, TWICE, then our disembarkation port. !!! Many of us still don't have our return flights or transfers, or, or, or...

    Reminds me of the saying:

Would you rather be right, or would you rather be free?

Neville Chamberlain 1937-1940. If we're going to be philosophical.

I'd say it's worth the effort to be right AND free. Winston Churchill  1940-1945.

For the OP, it's not the money, I'm not sure it's even the principal. It's the fact that Princess has a problem, we've all experienced some aspect of that recently, Princess needs to acknowledge it, and construct a plan to deal with it. And finally, to communicate with its clients as to what is going on.

    That last part especially.

Those of you who are poopooing the effort being made will reap the benefits when Princess improves their customer service. As it so often happens, people at the front end don't know when the back end isn't working, unless we tell them.

Actually EVERY Enchanted cruise after mine that ends May 4, 2022, has been pulled from the website.  Where will it be this summer?!

And apparently on May 4th the enchanted is scheduled to be in Southampton! I'm on the April 9th TA with the Baltic. Flights are booked to come home out of Copenhagen on the 4th. Not sure what is going on.

reas to absorb it all. The reason we visited two years in a row is that there was still so much we did not get to see first time round. While a lot of the sights are in Mitte, Berlin is actually quite spread out. Using the UBahn is the way to go. German public transport is cheap and efficient. You should never need to rely on taxis or Uber in Berlin. if you think this is the only opportunity you will ever have to visit Berlin then fair enough but IMHO it merits at least 5 days and shouldn’t be rushed in half a day. It’s our family’s favourite European city.
You can easily spend a lovely day in Rostock and Warnemunde and it would be much more relaxing. Rostock centre has lots of different architectural styles and is very pretty. You can walk around the old town walls - a guide from the tourist info on university square will help with the route. The town also has a big maritime heritage. Warnemunde is a great place to stroll and soak up the seaside atmosphere and of course there’s the beach with its wide promenade and lighthouse.

I hope this helps with your decision and enjoy your cruise.

Thanks so much for your response. I have been to Berlin before for an extended stay, and yes, you are right, it's a wonderful city. Even with only a few hours, I wanted to revisit. I think I'm going to attempt the train. If I get nervous, I can always head back early.

Doing this via public train would definitely have its advantage.  I suspect a better train would be used.  If you get off the train at Hbf, I don't think you need to necessarily use Uber or taxi to get to the sights.  I walked all over central Berlin and saw the major sites on foot.  According to the Man in Seat 61 website, the walk from Hbf to the Reichstag is 11 minutes and Brandenburg gate is 18 minutes.  Checkpoint Charlie is a little over 30 minutes walk.  I found walking on foot between these sites to be part of my adventure in a unique city.  However, if you prefer, you could use Uber, taxi or subway to get from place to place if you prefer.

Thanks so much for your response. I think I'm going to do this. I've been to Berlin before on an extended stay but I would love to revisit the city, even if it's only for a few hours. And yes, we are doing some planning. I found a wonderful walking tour map that has an accompanying podcast that fills in all of the history. I should be fun.

No...no point in trying to catch up in the Azores.  That's a third of the cruise gone!  6 sea days...and I REALLY like sea days.  (And I really don't think I could swing a helicopter transfer from Fort Lauderdale! 😄)  No, we were able to cancel late last night so we will just get something else booked really soon.  It won't be the same as a TA...but any day on a ship is better than a day NOT on a ship, right?

Not too late to catch the Enchanted on April 9th. There's still room 😘 and there is a nice B2B  with the Baltic. But, yeah, it's gonna be cold.

  8. I'm sailing on the April 23 Baltic cruise on the Enchanted and we have a stop in Warnemunde from 7AM until 9 PM. Of course, Princess has an excursion that provides the train there and back but it's expensive. I was wondering if anyone here has braved the journey on their own.  A do it yourself ticket is only $40 round trip and the train station is steps from the ship. A bit tempting, if you ask me. I checked the timetable and there is a possible schedule that would actually allow 6+ hours in Berlin.

Not sure if this is the right forum but I guess it will be moved if it isn't.

also, if you are traveling with other people, only one of you would need to get the 4-device plan (unless you needed more than 4 together) as you can share it with other people

We are also traveling sisters!! We have each booked our own cabins on separate bookings. Can we share the same plan. I talked to Princess and they said no, but I wanted to check here for the practical answer.

Chairman Micky Arison released the following statement via Twitter over the weekend: "We are in the process of securing alternate itineraries for our cruise ships before announcing our future plans. We will be advising our guests and travel partners shortly as plans become finalized."

well, we've seen that. just waiting on new itineraries.

I detest the cruiseline's that make the time change in the middle of the day. Princess loves to do that.1pm becomes 2pm and your whole afternoon is off schedule, especially meals.

hi, I actually read somewhere that this change during the day was done for the crew. This way, their scheduled sleep time was the same every night. I think that's rather considerate. True, the passengers suffer a little, but, hey, we're on vacation.

Don't you wish you could email Princess with a list of potential ports you would like to see 😊

I think I already posted this somewhere but my wish is for an overnight in Warnemunde. It would give us a chance to take a train to Berlin and stay overnight there. It's an amazing city. And an extra port in Norway.

  14. Since the last thread on this topic was closed, I thought I would start another one. I guess someone colored outside the lines. But I think we need to have someplace to discuss questions we might have about our upcoming cruises. If someone can enlighten me as to the reason that the last thread was closed, please do so. If we are able to keep the thread going, we'll try to stay on topic. My input here is that my flight home out of Copenhagen was cancelled and Lufhansa, via EZair, had placed me on a 9:35 am flight home, not possible. I was lucky to get hold of someone at Princess and she rebooked me on a later Lufthansa flight. Point is, the scramble for flights may be on as people cancel various bookings, leaving airlines consolidating some flights. Check in with your flight itineraries and stay on top of them. Things may get harry.

We had our flights changed 5 times (traveling in June, 2022).  I realize it's the airlines that are to blame, but shouldn't E-Z assign a new flight? I was told the new flight assignment will be made 75 days before departure AND the ticket price will be at the prevailing rate.  That doesn't set well with me.  So I decided to book a whole new flight and PAY for it TODAY.  So I went to the Princess website to modify my flights, but the website WILL NOT let me modify my flights.  I can't even cancel my flights.  Guess I need to call Princess.

I the same boat. Am on phone queue right now waiting to talk to someone. Flight out of Copenhagen cancelled to Lufthansa (purchased through Princess) has me on a 9:35 am flight home instead of the 1:55 I had originally scheduled. Called Lufthansa, told I had to talk to Princess. But, you know I can't. Sooooo. Jeez, this is nuts. My flight is May 4th, in their window.

    Would you elaborate, please?

The latest news coming from Moscow includes several ominous items. Putin has recognized two districts in the Ukraine as independent, he ordered his defense ministry to move "peacekeeping" troops into Ukraine to "protect" Russian separatists, and in a statement at signing his orders, Putin stated that Ukraine has no historical right to sovereignty from Russia. Quotation marks are mine.

The news reports are speculating that troops could move as early as this evening.

Yes, you should get 2 credits for each leg. It's unfortunate that the extra cruise credits don't really mean anything once you pass Elite status.

Well, you're speaking to someone who is still a gold here. I think I have actually sailed on Carnival, RCCL, HAL, Celebrity, and Princess the same number of times. But the two TAs I have booked this year will put me at Platinum level. I'm pretty sure, I'll never rise any higher. But that's fine. It's funny, the only thing that would interest me is getting the full set of medallion colors for the fridge. I'm gonna swipe my sister's Blue. She's a Princess newbie.

I was looking this morning as well, contemplating booking a TA from Copenhagen in Sept. I checked the flights for business class . Logged off. Thought some more. Went back and checked again, and lo, $200 off. I booked. I'll discuss with my PVP on Tuesday when she gets back to the office.

Just checked again and the prices went back up. Crazy.

Cheapest fastest way is for one of you to sail in an inside, solo.

Only one of you needs to be elite for the two of you to get elite benefits in future sailings, as long as you are sailing in the same cabin.

The solo rate premium used to be 100%. If you sail right now, it's often with zero penalty.

Let me ask a question here. I've booked solo on a B2B TA Baltic. Originally only on TA but added the Baltic. It's still showing as  2 cruises even in same cabin, Yup, I got lucky. Am I still entitled to the 2 credits as a solo for each leg, even as there was no solo penalty? Honestly, I don't cruise often enough for status to be meaningful -once a year, maybe,- but I am curious.
