  1. Just wondering do everyone on here just do P&O ? Or do others as well. As we have always been with the in-laws we have only done P&O as they said it’s their favourite.

We were thinking of trying a different one next year but booked Ventura to the Canaries.

I did some research on Fred Olsen as they go from Liverpool so closer to us but didn’t appeal to me as didn’t look like as many young families on them. Also was thinking TUI could be good as had a lot of holidays with them.

Just thinking as we have the cruise bug now I can see us doing it a lot more so want to mix it up for locations.

We were on Oceana in March and I agree that the captain was good. We enjoyed his little ditties. The staff however were incredibly unfriendly and abrupt and no matter how we tried we couldn't get any rapport with them. Its the first time we've experienced that. How were the staff on your ctuise?

We found they good to be fair. Waiters amazing , rose our cabin Stewart was lovely.

In winners I got on with the bar men. Could of been different staff though.

I hope you asked the maitre de to find you an alternative table and tell him why you wished to move. That is what would have done.

Pity  Tony Soprano wasn’t there , he just needs to stare 😂

  4. It’s all about the lines. Any beer on clean lines is nice. My mates owns a real a.e pub in Liverpool and they clean theirs every 3 days so every pint is pure. Not many do that resulting in bad tasting pints.

  5. On the oceana I had a lot of different drinks and some thoughts on them.

On draught peroni which was at a few bars and very nice. That was my main drink. Had a Stella as well but not a fan and also fosters which was nice but only in one bar.

On the bottles i had doom bar a lot which is a 500ml bottle so not far off a pint. Moretti which was a small bottle so disappointed.

also had old speckled hen but was in a can which I’m not a fan. Calling was in a can too so was t happy when I ordered that as he didn’t say.

But decent prices imo, you pay more in some high street bars now.

  6. Looking forward to this ship as done azura & Oceana so far. Heard people say it’s similar to azura?

Looking forward to the extra restaurants too as oceana only had beach house and cafe Jardin.

My wife is looking forward to the Metropolis Bar as she loved the azura version.

Anyone who’s been on it have you some favourite things about the ship?

  7. It’s one we will be doing for sure. My 11 year old wants to play with friends at kids club most of the time or go a beach so that was one of the factors but as we are hooked on cruising now I’m guessing over the next few years , Iceland , Baltic and Norway will be on the list.

We always book with our preferred TA.

See post 27 on the link below.

As a potentially new customer you may get an extra discount over and above the normal discounts they offer.

Cheers for the advice. We found a good agent off that website and booked through them. Really helpful with advice and beat the other prices we have.

We booked the Ventura to canary’s islands in the end as that’s what our Girls wanted to do. We can do the Baltic in a few years when the, all older.

  9. So after a chat with the Mrs we have decided on the Baltic for next August with our girls.

As we always go with the in-laws and they book it I am booking this myself.

Some questions I hope you fine people can help with.

Is it best to to book online on P&O website or go a travel Agent ?

i see you can book select or or early saver which saves £100. Is it worth it?

You can can pick your cabin , is there a better floor / side  to be on? We are getting a window cabin.

    Cheers Guys

  10. Just read some bad reviews about this ship and moaning the shower rooms are to small. What are people expecting ? It’s a ship not a hotel !!! Nothing wrong with them at all. Well enough room to have a shower, use the toilet and have a shave etc.

The last review saying the service  was terrible too. He must of been on a different ship then me as it was excellent. A real effort by the waiters all the time I used them.

I loved this ship and this cruise and me and our family of 7 had one of the best holidays of our life’s.

  11. After a amazing cruise on the oceana I’m after a bit of info on the Azura and Ventura.

on the oceana I spent a lot of time after the shows in the Casino and winners bar. Then downstairs to the night club called LE club.

Does the azura and Ventura have a night club as well?
