Top of Waikiki Happy Hour at 5:00. Cheap drinks and Pupus, and a great view. Get there a little before they open at 5:00 to get a good table.

we just returned from a TA cruise on Caribbean Princess and since it was. 15 day cruise looked forward to our free laundry. The new rules are they don't return your laundry for 96 hours. Our cruise ended on a Saturday so we were advised Tuesday would be the last day for laundry. Not a big deal we managed just fine but wish we had known about the new rules when we packed.
Not a new rule at all. In fact it's not a rule. We were also on that cruise, and it was only because there were so many elites on board that the laundry took so long. More people using the laundry the longer it takes to get it back.

We flew into NYC, rented a car and took 4 days to drive to QC, then boarded the ship. Best of both worlds.

I read where someone said that they are leaving Princess due to the Sip and Sail promo and passenger behavior. They were specifically unhappy about the crowds around IC and in the Piazza area where they said that the coffee crowd was being replaced by the Bloody Mary crowd and it was crowded and noisy. Just curious...Has anybody noticed an uptick in unacceptable behavior due to the advent of the Sip and Sail? I certainly haven't seen much in the way of complaints but perhaps it's still new enough that the complaints haven't started to show up yet.
Any comments?
When has the IC not been crowded and noisy? Maybe some of the Bloody Mary crowd is getting there before the coffee crowd can claim the tables and chairs where they camp out all day. At least the BM crowd will probably enjoy their two or three BMs then go upstairs for a nap[emoji41]

Unfortunately, those numbers are not accurate. There are many more that are currently listed as missing (disappeared as Mexico likes to call them). These individuals are unaccounted as their bodies are not yet found.
Many will say that murders in Chicago are up therefore is just as bad as Mexico. The murders in Chicago are concentrated in certain areas where there are gang wars going on. Not spread across vast areas frequented by tourists. A few weeks ago there was a shooting in broad daylight (around 2 pm if not mistaken) right on the beach in Cabo.
It should be noted that the "Cabo" incident you refer to actually occurred in San Jose Del Cabo, about 30 miles away from Cabo San Lucas, and not generally a destination for cruise passengers. I would not feel unsafe in any of the Mexican cruise ports.

I also received the email. I put an interior room on hold before they sold out. I probably should have gone for the balcony, lol. I was in such a hurry to book SOMETHING.

I love English expressions. Please explain over-the-odds[emoji4]. I think I have a pretty good idea. Paid too much? Actually didn't buy one, just checked the price ion Amazon before replying. DK

Curious that you would consider booking a hotel based upon what type of electrical outlets they have, especially since you can purchase a two prong adapter for about $5. We've found that most hotels will either provide adapters in your room, or lend you one for your stay, but as has been mentioned above, for some items you may need a converter as well.

This sounds like a great option for us. Parking in SF isn't the problem. I'm kind of a country hick and I'd like to avoid driving in to the city if I can.;-) Thanks for the info.
Ditto the country hick![emoji4] I'd recommend that you go on to the Vallejo Waterfront Parking site and get your monthly permit on line. That way, once you get to the ferry terminal, you can just park your car in the garage and walk across the street to the terminal without the need to buy your permit at one of the kiosks. Enjoy your cruise!

We always drive to Vallejo, park in the covered garage at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal ($20 for a monthly permit) and take the ferry to the SF Ferry Terminal. From there it's about a half mile walk to Pier 27. Easily the least stressful way to go. The ferry is about $13.50 per person round trip.

By the way, we get off and return from the Ferry Terminal rather than Pier 41. The walk is just a little longer and we can be at Pier 27 by the time the ferry is letting off passengers at Pier 41. Going back, the ferry stops first at the Ferry Building, so the seat selection is better, although there always seems to be plenty of seats.

The ferry from Vallejo is a great way to go for those of us who live North of the Bay Area. We've done it several times.

How did you swing that...I thought princess would not do the shuttle for you unless your flight was 12:15 or later?
I'm confused too. If it was a Princess Transfer they would have been marshaled to one of the public rooms and taken down together to the bus. When we disembarked the CB earlier this month, Princess advised that they would only accept Transfer requests from those with flights after 13:15 to JFK and 12:15 to LaGuardia.

We went through Terminal 4. This was a Wednesday about 8:39am, and the security line was very short. BTW, Princess was only offering transfers to those who had flights after 13:15.

Question from a local and one who frequents the area:
We will be arriving at the princess Brooklyn pier on a sunday at 7:15am we had originally planned on booking a 12:25 flight out of LGA via Southwest but heard of the construction...so here are our 3 options...which would be less stress...don't want to stress after the cruise about making flight:
ship arrives 7:15 am
SW 12:25pm out of LGA-1 stop
delta 1:45 out of JFK-nonstop
united 2:50 out of EWR-nonstop
We arrived in Brooklyn @ 7am on Oct 12th, and had an 11:40 flight out of JFK. I was really nervous about making the flight, partially because of Princess' scare tactics about the length and cost of the cab ride to JFK. So, we opted to do a walk off, which was no problem even with two large bags. We were off the ship by 7:20, immediately caught a cab, $70 flat rate to JFK. At the airport by 8:30, checked our bags outside (Delta), and were through security in about 5 minutes. Easy as can be

Just returned from late seating traditional dining on the Caribbean Princess, and for the first time in 32 Princess cruises, there was no parade of the Baked Alaska. Yeah, I know it's pretty corny and all that, but it's been a tradition ever since we stated cruising, on every cruise line, 30 some years ago. Apparently it was done for early seating, but, according to our head waiter, for reasons unknown the chef and Maitre'd decided late seating was unworthy. Just a rant, but disappointed.

They charge it in the US, too, it is just 'built-in' to the fare or prices of onboard purchases. US law does not require disclosure as is the case in many other countries.
Where do you get this info? So, you're saying that if one settles up in cash at the end of a cruise he can save 1.5% or whatever hidden fee Princess has tacked on?? Questionable.

I noticed the following cutbacks on a recent cruise on the CB.
o In the dining room, there was only one set of salt and pepper shakers on tables for eight. There used to be two sets.
o At the Culinary Demonstration in the Princess Theater there were no handouts of recipes as in the past.
o At the Platinum/Elite past passenger party in Club Fusion there were no canapes handed out to eat. Was told they were eliminated because too many were not being eaten.
Seriously??[emoji33]

We were on the Grand last week. ESPN is available on your cabin tv, but if the game is on TNT or NBA Channel, I'm afraid it will not be available.
-
Not sure, but I believe it is available. Not my favorite, so I don't order it. Appletons is one brand that I have ordered. Not spiced.
-
Or, if you are on Southwest, you can pay the $12.50 Early Bird fee and be guaranteed an A boarding pass without the need to check in until you get to the airport.
-
You can do from IPad with no problem..
Are you sure? I think there has to be an E-print capable printer on the wi-fi network in order to print from an iPad.

Vodka and cranberry, add a little peach schnapps, and a splash of orange juice and you have Sex On The Beach (my wife's favorite). Fun to order also!!
Carry on champagne instead if wine
