  1. Finally got an email! This is what they said:

We have updated information about your sailing.

Allure of the Seas currently has a speed restriction that will result in slight adjustments to your itinerary. For your convenience, the updates are noted below. The new port of San Juan, Puerto Rico offers the opportunity to visit the culturally rich city of Old San Juan and the lush rainforest of El Yunque. We apologize for this change, but have no doubt that your vacation will be nothing short of amazing. We can't wait to welcome you onboard.

  2. Hey everyone!

We are sailing on Allure of the Seas September 3rd. I logged into the cruise planner today and noticed that St. Kitts was removed and San Juan added. St. Thomas is also moved to September 7th instead of September 6th. Has anyone heard anything about this? I've called Royal Caribbean a couple of times...and while they are showing the change as well, no other information.

    Thanks!

  3. We used FL tours to get to Port Canaveral and then to Universal. He was waiting for us when we got off and we were to Universal a little after 8:00!

We heard live music several times in Central Park! The night we ate at Chops, there was a violinist and pianist playing. The music was amazing! One of those Wow moments for sure!

My boyfriend's son is 15 and he did the teen club. LOVED it! They have a 1:00 a.m. curfew and he was always out until right about then. They had dances and different organized activities. He said it was his favorite part of the trip!

I'm already trying to convince everyone to go again next December!

  4. I don't have menus...but if you go to their website, what they had posted there was exactly what we were offered. I have to say the almond crusted scallops and Giovanni's were probably the best thing I've ever had :)

We went to Labadee. It is BEAUTIFUL! The mountains and the water...the best of both worlds. My boyfriend and his son went kayaking and I hung out on the beach. We didn't reserve any excursions ahead of time and I wish we had. We ate at the buffet there....crowds were minimal food was decent!

  5. Hey everyone! I know I scoured the boards for info and reviews before going on Oasis so I wanted to return the favor. I was starting to get a little worried by the negative reviews and comments. But I have to say, this was probably one of our best trips ever. I honestly don't know how we'll go on another ship after this! It was amazing. I'm going to break my review down into the areas that people usually seem most interested. Let me know if you have any questions!

Getting on and off the ship

We cruise every year. Sometimes a couple times a year. I've cruised out of Port Canaveral before but not in years. All our recent trips have been Fort Lauderdale. This was the easiest I've ever had! We got to the port at 9:30....we checked in and sitting in our seats by 9:45. By 10:45 we were boarding! We were so early Windjammer and the other spots to eat weren't even open!

We chose to carry off our own luggage since we were heading to Universal and wanted a full day. We got in line around 6:45 to get off the ship and were on our way by 7:20ish. It wasn't horrible. The line seemed to constantly move but there were just a lot of people getting off.

    Crowds

The only time I felt crowded was after the muster drill. Everyone was going the same place at the same time. Other than that, no one could have convinced me we were on a full ship. Never waited for elevators. We never had a problem finding a table at Windjammer with the exception of one lunch...we waited about 3 minutes! Oh no! :) An honestly I preferred the way they handled it, they escorted us to the next open table. I prefer that rather than wandering around for 15 minutes trying to find something. I had made reservations for the shows, but there always seemed to be plenty of empty seats if someone decided to go!

    Food

We didn't do the main dining room so can't comment on that. Our cruise was a 5 night and four of those nights were at specialty restaurants. We did Giovanni's, Chops Grille, Izumi and Sabor. We found all of them to be excellent and enjoyed the food. Chops was a little slow on service...but better than anything we get back home!;) And the food was amazing! I think we liked Giovanni's best and the sangria at Sabor! We ate breakfast and lunch at Windjammer most time. We did try the roast beef at Park Cafe and it was as delicious as everyone says!

    Entertainment

I don't know how anyone can complain they were bored! I felt like it was the perfect mix of everything to do and nothing at the same time. We saw most of the shows. LOVED Come fly with me and Frozen in Time. El Gaucho (our headliner) was hilarious and very talented. I saw a little bit of the water show form our balcony. Didn't watch much so can't comment on it. We did all the activities from mini golf and ziplining to the flowriders. The waits weren't terrible. 15-20 minutes tops. My boyfriend and I hit a couple dancing classes and trivia get togethers. Really enjoyed everything!

I thought the ship was AMAZING! Our favorite area was Central Park. Sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine listening to the "crickets" chirp was pretty awesome. We all agreed it was the best cruise we've been on! Happy Cruising everyone!

  6. I can't wait for vacation! A couple questions...I was considering getting the surf and stream package. How does that work? Will they leave a wifi code or something in our room?

Also, we have a Boardwalk balcony. Has any had experience yet with with promo they have going? I believe we get two soda packages, lunch at Johnny Rockets and the rock climbing wall session. I am just curious how we go about getting our cups for the soda!

    Thanks in advance!

  7. I saw the Eat Drink Play thing! It says that the promotion starts on all cruises after November 4th or 6th or something. The rep I spoke to said it should become a permanent promotion. I think Central Park rooms get something as well. Like a bottle of wine and casino gaming lessons. I was so excited I called my boyfriend at work. He doesn't get it  He said oh that's great. Do I have another 8 months of cruise planning to look forward to? Thank goodness for the boards!

  8. Hi everyone!

I feel like I'm a little late with this. But I'm still trying to work my post vacation blues. And I wanted to post a short review on our wonderful trip! I read so many negative things about the ship I was a little nervous. And even though I tend to always find the good in my vacations, I really do think the ship, the crew, the activities....everything was amazing!

I've never been on this class ship before. And I thought it was huge. And beautiful! I'm sure I embarrassed my boyfriend and his son with my enthusiasm! We had a Junior Suite on Deck 10. I think I've now officially been ruined for any other kind of room. It was great. Big. The balcony was awesome. I spent a lot of time enjoying the peace and quiet of our balcony. I had read of noise coming from the pool area, but I never heard anything.

We didn't do many shows so I can't comment on that. We did participate in a few trivia challenges which were a lot of fun. And we played ping pong, mini-golf, went ice skating. My boyfriend and his son played basketball a bunch of times and tried the rock climbing wall and the Flowrider. I have a couple great videos which I've been forbidden to ever show anyone! I thought everything was well organized and a lot of fun.

We did both Chops and Giovanni's Table. Both were delicious! But if we could only choose one, I think we would do Giovanni's Table. The food was great and the service wonderful. I loved hearing our Russian and Indian waiters singing Happy Birthday to my boyfriend in Italian. And they were really good! :)

We ate at Windjammer the other nights. The food was good. A couple nights it was really crowded. But a little patience and maneuvering around the people and all was good.

All the crew I met was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful. No complaints there! I found even the bar staff at the pool areas to be very nice.

In Belize we did Altun Ha and went to the Zoo. Both were amazing. Definitely bring bug spray! I was wearing it and still gotten eaten alive. A nice souvenir I guess! In Cozumel we went to Nachi Cocum. Did jet skis, paddle boarding and the banana boat. Lots of fun. The food was great.

This is my 16th cruise....I've cruised with Disney, Princess and Royal Caribbean. The last couple years have been with Princess. My boyfriend and his son have only been on Princess. I think they both felt they liked the Independence of the Seas better as a ship...more things to do! They liked the food on Princess better. Not that the food on Royal Caribbean is bad at all! They just liked the variety on Princess a little better.

But we will continue to cruise both lines! A day at sea is better than a day anywhere else! Happy cruising!
