  1. My Mother is sailing the Icon in just over 3 week.  I have repeatedly logged in over the last several months to her cruise planner and each time is see a message stating "We're putting the finishing touches on our entertainment lineup ... check back closer to your sail date ..: The sailing is just over three weeks away, at what point will they release the shows for booking?

You must have booked this cruise a long time ago.  I don't remember when they eliminated the Elevate option but I didn't think it was that recently.

We booked a Beyond sailing in April of 2022.  As I recall they eliminated the Elevate package a couple of months later.

    You should look NOW....

For our cruise in 3 weeks, no luck, but for our cruise next May the sale is $6.99+ per day

Just got this deal on my December 6 sailing.  I had already purchased it so I cancelled and re-purchased. Now I have an extra $115 OBC to try and spend (or take out of a slot machine) 😉

  4. We have sailed both. The major difference is the Beyond is longer so they added the World Class bar and a restaurant. The reconfiguration of the Sunset bar is a major plus but not a deal breaker in my mind.

  5. I agree with you should be OK.  Do priority disembarkation, carry your own bags and there should be a line up of taxis.  You don't say what day of the week this will be but hopefully not a weekend.  Last January we disembarked on a Sunday and the security lines were insane.  There was a line to get to the Pre-check line.  The standard line went to the end of the terminal and then half way back outside.

To be fair we took our time getting off the ship and were in no rush and still had no problem catching our 12:30pm flight.

Did you check with the rental company and ask if you could drop the car at FLL airport location ?

Even if they charged a few bucks extra , it would be worth it. Fll is literally 5 minutes from port everglades. Cheaper and shorter cab ride for sure.

Ah! My bad. I assumed it was sailing out of Miami not Port Everglades.  If this is the case then absolutely return the car to FLL. Whatever extra they may charge will more that be made up by the extra cost and inconvenience of going from MIA to FLL The taxi/uber ride over from FLL is very short and very quick.

  7. IMO the easiest and fastest way is to take a taxi. You can also Uber/Lyft and save a few dollars but there is usually a line of taxis available.

Personally I would skip the drop at the port, drop the car off and get an Uber XL for the group and save the time going back and forth. It will be a good 50-60 minutes to drop the car, go to the taxi/ride share pickup spot and get back.

We actually love the infinite style cabin over the normal balcony.   It's more like a sunroom with openable window and great if you want to lie down next the window all day long reading on a sea day.   Our son was staying with us in the cabin and instead of having his mattress on top of the sofa, we moved it on the floor right next to the window.  The length of the mattress is perfect there.  He loves sleeping there at night.  It is like sleeping right next to the ocean.   During the day, all 3 of us fought for the prime position there to read or listen to music or do some work on the laptop.

I tell people it's a panoramic ocean view with a window that opens.  Not that I dislike them, I just think it's the most accurate description.

  9. We usually spend 3-4 hours sitting at the edge of the pool (or occasionally in it) and had no problems with drinks.  Never really tired taking them in the pool with us but have seen others do it.  My pet peeve with Celebrity is they do not have beer in aluminum bottle like Royal does so all beer goes in a plastic cup which doesn't keep it cold very long.
