The cabins in front of it (D224 to D146) are Deluxe Balcony cabins with a loveseat.  D226 is the only regular Balcony cabin in that area with a large balcony.  The cabins aft of it (D228 to D312) are regular Balcony cabins with small balconies, but closer to the centre of the ship. I would be very happy with D226.

Thank you so much. You're info is very helpful.  I think I will get that cabin for my next booking!

I pre booked the Thermal Suite 10-day pass for our upcoming Royal Princess trip in a few weeks out of Sydney so it's charged in Australian dollars and its A$196 each, that's about USD$130.

It's pretty good deal i thought as its charged at the same rate in USD on non-Australian cruises, mind you the Australian dollar is weak against the USD right now, swings and roundabouts though.

Hey Hammer61 that is a pretty good deal. My daughter is cruising with me this cruise.  I usually cruise solo.  I'm going to see if she's interested in the Enclave. How far ahead of departure can you get the pass? Is there only a limited amount of passes?

    Thanks for the info- Lynn

  3. My next cruise is in April 2014 so it's a ways off!

I was going to go solo again as usual until my daughter said yes to going with me. So, I called my CVP to add her on with the Plus pkg for both of us. His VM said he was out on vacation and I could have someone else help me. Being excited I thought why not. So I got another person on the phone. This must have been outsourced to Phillipines.  She was confusing and very hard to understand. She added 2 airport transfers after I told her we were driving to the port. She asked for final payment. I told her I was paying online later. She said you can't pay online anymore.  I knew different. She constantly repeated herself and saying yea- ok. I finally got her off the phone feeling she probably made mistakes. I went into the booking and corrected what was wrong. Then I called again and left a detailed message for my CVP and asked him to check the booking and email a new confirmation. He returned 4 days ago and still hasn't returned my call or sent an email. I'm going to try for a new CVP and hopefully have better communication.

And her signature is cute too!

When I have a cruise booked I mutter to myself everyday... can we go now?  Finally on day of departure I answer myself- YES! Today is sail away!  Yea!!!  🤗

Unfortunately, the PM function has been disabled for quite some time.  Short of you publicly sharing your email system (which is NOT recommended) it is very difficult if not impossible to contact other members directly.

Yes, it's too bad the message function doesn't work. I've met some very nice people on here. And some that are just unhappy complainers!  Can't please everyone.

I’m sorry, but we’re not allowed to share the names of CVPs here on CC.  I really, really love your name!  It’s perfect!  Really, love that name!

I know professional names can't be given on here. It's so frustrating!

I like my name too! Thanks!

Yes, you can certainly request a new CVP.  Call the CVP direct number and do not key in the extension number.  You will get someone in the CVP department.  Tell them your story and ask for a new CVP rep.  I do not know if the cruises you already have booked can be transferred between reps.  There is, unfortunately, no guarantee that a new CVP will suit you better, but it’s worth a try.  Mine is worth her weight in gold, so I hope you can find one as capable and efficient as her.

I am also considering changing my CVP. There's a bit of a language barrier. If there's any way you can privately msg me the name of yours I'd appreciate it!! There is a lot of frustration among many people on these threads regarding possible outsourcing of the call center. I also had a bad experience with it recently.

  8. I called my cruise planner today to add my daughter on my cruise. He was out on vacation so I spoke to someone else.  This girl was so hard to understand and repeated herself on everything she did. She was confusing to understand. I wanted to add my daughter and add the Plus pkg. Simple enough. She added my daughter and then asked about transfers. I told her we were driving to the port. She then said she would take my payment while I had her on the phone. I said we would make payments online. She said that is not possible anymore. Well,  I knew that was wrong and I just wanted to get off the phone by this time. When I got off and looked at the email of the booking confirmation, I couldn't figure what a $65 charge was for a package.  I went on the website travel summary for more detail. She added a transfer from ship to airport! Now I ask you, if I stated we were driving to the port,  how would you figure we were going home! I removed the transfers and everything looks correct now. I just can't believe the incompetence of someone that is a planner and supposed to be knowledgeable and helpful. I felt exhausted after talking to her!!  Anyone else have negative experiences?

  9. Thanks for all the info on your experiences. I may check it out on boarding day.  Just not sure how often I'd use it to make it worth the money.  My cabin is a balcony right at the adult only retreat pool area on sun deck. I'm excited about that and one deck up has lots of great open deck area. And the Retreat pool has a bar!!!  I'm excited!!

  10. I have enough points on my Princess Visa Card to get $100 gift card. I want to use it as OBC. How does that work?  Can my CVP have access to add it?  Do they send an actual gift card and then quest services adds it to the onboard account?

I'm thinking about paying off my next cruise to get the points and then pay the card off from my savings to get the point value.  How long does it take for the points to become available to use?

    Anyone familiar with this??

    Thanks for any info.

Only if you have Princess Plus. The Retreat is basically a public area, that anyone can use,  but adults only.

If you don't have princess plus you can't use the Sanctuary or is it that the drinks and snacks aren't complimentary?

  12. Thank you for the replies!

I am platinum so I plan to head there as soon as I board. I also have a cabin on Sun deck so it's a short walk. The Retreat area will be outside my door!  I've never used it before but I'm doing an itinerary that I've done many times so I might not go ashore. Are any drinks or snacks complimentary?

  13. Can anyone give me info on the Retreat Area?  Is there a pass I can purchase for the entire cruise?  Can I purchase it ahead of the cruise?  What is the cost?  Where can I find info on it?

    Thanks

  14. That is a sweet surprise!

You certainly could print the summary before you call and order. Once they're ordered, it will show up on the summary. All you are required to have to board is the boarding pass and passport. Flowers are usually in the cabin when the cabins are ready for the passengers. It's so nice they're traveling together!
