  1. At home I usually eat around 5pm. On a cruise I like to eat a little later because I snack throughout the day at places on the ship. So a later dinner usually works better for me now. On my cruises years ago I chose the later dining time but now I like to just go when I choose. However,  if I want to spend more time in the lounges for entertainment I might go a bit earlier.  I really like not having an assigned dining time.

  2. Thank you OakTree.

I had Club Class on Princess and didn't see any real distinction.  That's why I posted the question. Not sure if I want to spend the extra money. I don't eat in MDR often so that aspect isn't important to me. Other than that there doesn't seem to be a lot of benefit for me. I do like getting everyone's feedback.

  3. It's simular to Princess "Club Class". I appreciate all the info and opinions. I'll have to give it some thought and see how it fits into my budget with the other things I plan to do. This is my 12th cruise but the first one on HAL out of my city of San Diego.  I'm happy I'll be saving about $325 by cruising out of SD. No shuttle, transfers, or airfare!

  4. Thank you Lisa.  The info I was able to read didn't specify any offer, it sounded like it was available to anyone.  Maybe because of all the changes and starting up again.  Or I could have read it wrong.  I appreciate your reply and will give it further thought,  I have plenty of time!  November 2022!

  5. I am new to HAL and see they have "Club Orange".  I have an inside cabin in a location I like and I travel solo.  Is this Club Orange worth the extra money?  When you call to add it do they add it to you fare balance or do they require payment immediately?  I sail in 2022 and I'm just curious what your opinions are.

    Thanks,

    Linda

  6. When I put a hold or deposit on a cruise ( or any trip) I create a folder in my computer (and print it out) of every email, confirmation, and travel summary I receive. I never delete anything even though it is in my personalizer. My folder includes holds, deposit confirmations, airline reservations, shuttle reservations, etc. I star the current info as I receive it so it's easy to find to print out. It's always good to have a complete paper trail.

  7. I had 2 cruises booked in 2021 with only a deposit paid. I canceled and got my refunds. I would never pay in full until final payment date. I have no desire now to cruise again because of COVID19, Noro, and anything new that comes around. I think that the cruise industry has gotten too big and the ships are huge. They seem to have lost control of themselves. When things look better for travel (probably not until fall 2021 for me, when I would feel safe) I'll look into a travel package to go somewhere.  Just my thoughts and feelings for myself.  I think I'm past cruising. I've taken several but I think the time has come for me to move on to something else. I just wonder how many others are feeling the same way and how it will effect the industry.

Yes and no.  In the long run Carnival might benefit, but in the short and intermediate time frame this will make people reluctant to book cruises altogether.  No one wants to lose money in a bankruptcy.  I would not commit purchase anything that I might not get to enjoy.  What I am suggesting is that Carnival's immediate cash flow from its operations. will be affected by the Norwegian situation

  9. Blessings to all the passengers of the Coral. Prayers for those lives that have been lost throughout the world. This has made all of us appreciate the comforts of home and also value our friends and loved ones.  I hope the world is free of this virus in the near future. It's changed all of our lives in some way. Best wishes to everyone.

No one comes in the room and we cannot leave.  All I do is call the steward and he brings fresh towels and shorts.  They are very accommodating.  My wife likes Diet Coke and she calls the guest serves and it is brought up.  I packed the tooth paste and she called and they brought some up.

    That sounds good.

Hang in there. You'll be on your way soon. Everyone must be getting edgy anticipating finally leaving. Must seem like forever.

I hope we can go home soon or if not give us our checked baggage back or tomorrowI I will go commando.  The Captain said to pack the carry ons for 2 days and that is today.

    Yikes!!! Commando!

    Now it's getting serious!

Keep smiling  🙂 and think positive!

  12. You will all eventually get off and be on your way. I'm sure Princess wants you off and on your way just as much as you do. There's a lot for them to arrange to get you to your doorstep. Flights, drivers, health checks and paperwork to abide by all the new rules. Be patient awhile longer. It will happen. Blessings to you for safe travels.
