Praying they cancel our July 6 cruise soon. It's getting too close and seems inevitable.

Some short cruises have a closer in final payment, instead of the usual 90 days - that doesn't make a diff to the discussion here.
If the amount owed at final is not too much, they can make final payment being pretty sure that sailing won't sail, RCI will cancel it during its next round of cancellations (in about a month) - then, they can get a full refund.
I got through to RCl to
clear this up. If I cancelled today, I would get a full refund (cash back, not as credit) minus the deposit.

Thank you. That is what I am doing as it was an easier decision. I already had paid most of my fare. I am banking on royal cancelling.

No, what some people did, more than a month ago, were canceling inside final payment and got a portion of it back as a refund - pretty sure that option is gone now.

The cruise I saw July 6. 75 days away.

As I posted, there are no refunds, unless and until RCI cancels the sailing (or you had a refundable booking).
I thought you can chose to cancel before your final payment is due, you get a full refund minus the NRD. Several people have said that on here.

Yes. They do not want a FCC. They wants a refund, I though the previous posted was saying you can get your NRD waived if cancelling.

The OP is asking about a sailing whose final payment is tomorrow which means it's covered under the CWC program - under that, the $100 penalty is waived.
I understand what you meant. Waived fee for choosing FCC. They want a refund.

Assuming it was an NRD booking, there are no refunds, but you might get an FCC-$100pp (you'd get that $100pp waived if you call). If possible, ask them to change the name/age of one of the customers to above 70 before cancellation - the FCC might then be able to be "sold".
I've never heard anyone say it has been waived. Where are you getting that information.

My friends are trying to cancel our cruise before final payment is due tomorrow, but cannot get through to RCL. Can they just not make final payment? Would they get refunded (minus deposit) or would they be charged an additional fee. Or even worse, get their balance in a FCC (they don't want that).
Asking here since they can't get through and the clock is ticking.thank you

We have a cruise in July. The balance was due 4th April, but they extended by 30 days. We have no intention of paying them any more money - but just need to hang in and see if they extend the current suspension for a further month and then we have full ATOL protection for the deposit, flights and hotels. I would not advise anyone to pay - FCC may simply not be worth anything.
How did you get an extension? Our final payment for our July 6 cruise is due April 22 and I would love more time! Thank you,

Our sail date is 6/29 (Bahamas on Navigator). There's no chance we are going. Our final payment date is 4/15, and it seems unlikely that our sailing will get cancelled before then. I believe our options are:
1. Take FCC (which we don't want)
2. Pay in full, then hope that the sailing gets cancelled (this would be a big risk considering the deposit is only $400)
Is anyone aware of any other options I am missing here? It's a "non refundable" deposit. If we take the FCC now, and then they cancel the sailing altogether, we are stuck with FCC rather than a refund. I feel like we have no good options in regards to getting cash back.
I believe they will cancel yours and mine. I am going to "let it ride" and wait for them to cancel so I can get it all back. Good luck with your decision.

I completely agree. I don't want to be on a cruise in July. Even if they have them (I'm convinced now they won't), it takes on sick person to quarantine the ship or close a port of call. And I don't want to worry the whole time if my teens are not constantly washing hands.

Wow wacky.

Thank you everyone!

Where is your cruise to? If it's alaska or something like that yours could get cancelled before final payment, but dont count on it, if regular itinerary.
The Bahamas on the Mariner.

I believe they will stick with their 30 day rolling cancellation window. As there is still a small chance the CDC could lift the order, Royal isn't going to want to give that cash back, especially if people are actively choose the CWC FCCs. Royal needs the cash.
Thank you, when would the next window be

We have our cruise July 6 and our final payment date is April 22. We are gambling Royal will cancel so we can get a full refund and not lose our $400 deposit.
now that the CDC has announced 100 days of no cruises (and I understand it comes down to the earliest of 3 options if cruises can occur sooner), when do you think Royal will cancel more cruises??? Praying it's before April 22. -

Each guest will receive a FCC. When they are applied you apply it by guest not by room. In your case you will receive 4 FCC’s
Great news, thank you

Hello. When the price dropped significantly on our July 6 cruise, we went from one room to two rooms. Adults in one room, teens in anothe. For some reason, that meant two reservation numbers. Final payment is due on April 22. If we cancel after that because of COVID, will we get FCC to use any way we want, or will I have to use it on 2 cabins in the future? We could never afford 2 rooms at Regular prices.

Thank you for responding. Looks almost as expensive as going through Atlantis.

I am considering booking a night at Comfort Suites during a RCL stop to enjoy Atlantis with my kids. I see a lengthy note about new fees that would equal $247 based on what they are saying (even though the room is only $189). This is separate from state taxes. If you stayed here since all the fees were instated in november 19, Is this right??

We were seated next to table full of kids with their parents seated at the next table , about 10 kids in all.
All I can say is I had sympathy for the servers , they had no support from the parents to deal with their little darlings.
Next night we asked to be seated on the other side of dining room .
I have kids , they never acted the way these ones did . Food all over the place , yelling , screaming ... you know acting like kids .
I was more appalled at the parents than the kids .
Kids should be supervised in a dining room .
Our kids are all teens and very well behaved. They would also be right next to us, As a children’s librarian I see misbehaved, unsupervised children often. Sorry for your terrible experience.

Also don't listen to the busy-bodies on this site that will tell you that you cannot do this or how to parent...
Yes. Apparently some people just don’t like children and enjoy preaching on this site.

Ahh, didn’t know we could do that! That’s perfect. Thanks.
Next round of cancellations

I think it’s terrible that they are making late-June cruisers wait so long for a cancellation. That’s less than 30 days. We are July 6, and they need to cancel. I get they are waiting as long as possible so people cancel their own and lose their NRDs or that they L and S, and the cruise companies need money....but c’mon. It’s too close in date and unrealistic to keep them scheduled when everyone knows they will be cancelled.
