    In a word, NO...

It sure doesn't appear as if she does!

It's not ALL about the changes affecting loyal customers, but too many things in the recent course of X events have turned us away from Celebrity, our once favored cruise line. A horribly disappointing recent experience on Eclipse didn't help!

As I have said, and will likely say many times before this subsides, she is making "how to kill a cruise line" moves.

Our last cruise on the Eclipse in April was terrible too We won't be back!! Not that Celebrity cares.

  2. We have mostly sailed with Celebrity, with a few trips on HA before Covid. Our last Celebrity cruise was out of Sidney this past March and April. It was not a great experience and we wont be back for a cruise with Celebrity anytime soon. We wanted to try HA, and have a August cruise to AK booked. From what I have read about the Koningsdam, we are very excited.

  3. We did the B2B out of Sydney, March-April. We did the RAT test, took a picture and showed it at the dock before boarding. From my understanding this was a Australian government requirement. When boarding in Sydney for our second leg, a Covid RAT test was waiting in our cabin. In a  envelope, with no instructions on how to use. The note did so it was on the Honor system and call medical if you have a positive test. I expect a lot of them went in the trash. The last 4 days of the cruise, Captain was recommending everyone wear masks while inside and not eating or drinking. We came home with Covid.

  4. I would agree the food was hit or miss on our March-April B2B out of Sydney. The second leg of the cruise Covid did show up on board during our last 4 days of our cruise. We were not in a suite or aqua class, so we ate in the MDR, OVC. We have cruise Celebrity many times before Covid, and things have change, but I think all cruise lines are not back to pre-covid conditions, and I never expect them to be. Our cabin 1011 was in very good shape. The ship itself is very clean, but furniture is starting to show wear. Last fall we did a quick cruise on RCL. Food was close to the same.

  5. We just got off the Eclipse. The food was terrible!! MDR or OV, only a few good meals, very hit or miss mostly miss. Maybe because of being out Syndey AU, the suppliers are not up to the standards that Celebrity has set? The Mast grill burger was a grey color mystery meat, went on grey and came off grey! Be awhile before we try Celebrity again.

    Day 6 Recap

🌊 At Sea: Our second of six at sea days since Bermuda.  Sea’s at 9 feet or medium according to the Captain’s morning report.

Time: Lost another hour (23 hour days) to -3 from Miami EST time.

Cafe al Bacio: I have been trying to get up early to migrate to -5 hours or Ireland vs Miami time.  I was the 5th person at the cafe at 730AM.  Two cafe americano’s, two chocolate croissant’s and one regular croissant.

🛋️ Lounger: Found a spot again outside the solarium with some sun. Was a relaxing spot to vegetate for a few hours.

🍽️ MDR: With Mast Grill closed for weather I really wanted some comfort food.  The MDR had a cheeseburger, so I headed there.  Noticed Pad Thai too so I requested a small portion as a starter.  Not as good as Mast Grill, but hit the spot.

🏋🏻 GYM: Was able to get an hour or 3.5 miles in.  Not many at the gym and the seas made it challenging at times.

🍍 Fruit Plate: Much needed change from the cheese plate.  I enjoyed and adjusted my request to no mellon, so I get more strawberries and pineapple.

🍽️ Murano: My second visit and really wanted red meat.  The amuse bouche was a prosciutto that I cannot recall the balance of the offering. For staters I ordered the lobster bisque and the heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad with extra balsamic.  They were both good, but not a repeat items for me.  For entree, I ordered the rack of lamb medium with extra pan sauce, very good and I suspect it was Colorado lamb as it wasn’t gamey like Australian lamb is to me. For dessert, I loved the chocolate soufflé.  Wonderful meal, as always and I polished off the bottle I started at the last meal.

🎲 Craps: Table was bare, so I didn’t stay long. Plus, I wanted to get to sleep around 1030PM each night. Plenty of future opportunities I’m sure.

As of this morning the Captain says the seas are now 12 feet and rough all day.  Hold onto rails when walking he said.  Should improve tomorrow.

    Cheers from a bumpy Silhouette!

We were on the Eclipse 2 weeks ago, doing a B2B out of Sydney. We have cruise a lot with Celebrity. This was the first time the food was not up to their standards! We always enjoyed a quick burger at the mast grill. But the burger meat was grey! Didnt look like meat, went on grey and came off grey!! Looked like lots of filler and just a mushy texture even when well done! Did you try one of the burgers from the Mast grill?

  7. We just got off the Eclipse after doing a back-to-back starting March 26 out of Sydney. Food was way bellow Celebrity standards. Doing New Zealand, you would think local. Fresh fish at least! Nope! When asked, the so-called Head Chef came to our table, explained it was a "permit" issue. What?

The Hamburger at the mast grill was a gray colored "meat." It went on gray and when cooked it was still gray! It looked like it was full of filler.

Our New England clam chowder had nothing in it but was a thick brown sludge!

We were not the only ones who did not like the food. Hopefully it is only this ship, and we just got stuck with a bad Galley Depatment.

Yes, we did get the instructions and so far masks are optional around the ship. But as you might imagine we’re hearing “the cough” periodically around the ship and are pretty much remaining antisocial on the cruise, but still having a great time! 😁

We are home, so far only my wife has covid. When we left there was a lot of coughing before we left. We did bring a supply of Paxlovid with us for our cruise just in case. We realized she could of pick up the Covid anywhere during our travels home. Safe travels Ken.

Was there something unusual about the test kits they provided?

Hard to imagine any international travellers that need instructions for this sort of thing any more...

We had a lot of 1st time cruisers. Talking with them, this was their 1st trip out since covid started. I can give you an egg and a hot pan, doesn't always mean you will get an omelet.

We returned from breakfast in Blu to find an envelope outside our cabin with our Transit cards and information regarding about our first turnaround day. I also called Guest Services and found out there will be 86 guests continuing on to Hawaii.

This first letter contains the general rules regarding transition day.

Bolded in yellow on the second letter are the “honor system” antigen testing rules for B2B passengers to follow once they reboard the ship.

We just got home from our B2B on the Eclipse. You got on the day we left. The ship was at a tier level 2 for COVID. This is what the Australian government posted. Our last 4 days of our cruise the captain recommended everyone mask up when inside. We got this same letter and when we returned back on board, the test kit was there. But they did not include instructions on how to use the kit. I bet a lot of them went into the trash. Did instructions come with your test kit?

I have no complaints with Celebrity whatsoever.  Maybe the ones complaining should try Carnival if they are unhappy with the “consistency” of the soup and find it “substandard” on Celebrity.
I’m batting 1000, 3 for 3 during my 3 Celebrity cruises in the last 6 months on 3 different Celebrity ships.

Well your very lucky, just don’t go out of Sydney at the end of the season

Nope! A lot of guests on this cruise or not happy with the food and soups. We are next to a couple from Boston. They commented on the New England clam chowder. It was brown in color, nothing in it! The haven’t been happy with the food either, not just my opinion.

The first leg, the French onion soup was just a broth, no onions, a half chunk of toast, with grated cheese sprinkled on top the toast!!! Also they are not serving butter anywhere but in the specialty restaurants. Maybe a supply issues.

  14. Well everyone, we are on the Eclipse now. We’re doing a B&B. On our 1st leg the French onion was the worst we have ever had. We sail Celebrity many times, the whole cruise the soups have been terrible. On our second leg, the cook put onions in the soup. So much, that you can’t enjoy the soup. Our food has been hit and miss, mostly miss. Celebrity should be ashamed, maybe it is just our ship?

Sorry Ken, I missed read the dates you posted. Safe travels.

Hi Ken, captain yesterday morning, told us we have Covid cases on board and to wear masks in casinos and theater. In the afternoon, he announced increased Covid and everyone to wear masks while inside. I can see why, they were very relaxed about Covid testing for everyone that was doing back to back. 400 of us. We got off in Sydney. Return back to the ship. They requested we use the Covid test kits they left in our cabin, and call if they were positive. The “kit” was 3 pieces, with no instructions! I bet a lot of people just threw them in the trash.

I’m not sure if you’re directly this comment to me, but if so, we won’t be on the Eclipse for our B3B until next week starting April 19, which I just started a Live From thread associated with it. In any event, I’m sorry the food was not up to Celebrity standards. Hopefully by the time we board, they will have solved this issue and the meals will be once again as tasty as we’ve come to expect when cruising with Celebrity.

Sorry Ken, I missed read the dates you posted. Safe travels.

  17. Hi Ken, we are on this cruise with you, we departed Suva yesterday. We’re not in Aqua class, but are just bellow you on deck ten. We are doing a back to back and this is our second leg. We have always enjoyed sailing with Celebrity cruises. Our 1st cruise since Covid. We are finding the food bellow average and not up to Celebrity standards. The Mast Grill hamburger is disgusting. The meat is a raw gray meat patty before it is cooked, and is the same color when it is cooked! Sorry but I have to disagree with the food on this ship. It is disgusting, and I have talked with many of the Australians on board and they agree the food is terrible!!!!

  18. We are on the same Celebrity Eclipse cruise leaving on April 6th. I am found a site on Facebook, that has been posting the latest pictures and updates about Mystery island. Repairs are being made, and they are planning on be open for our cruise ship stop on April 16. I did asked if they needed anything, They are asking for school supplies...pencils, erasers, toothpaste, toothbrushes,, that we can drop off to them at the pier, on the island. Joesph, from Mystery island tours is in charge of collecting.

    Thanks
