  1. There are no sailings until next Sunday the 22nd, I believe, but for now I would say to take the 440 overpass by staying as far to the left out of the tolls as possible, and using 440. For the time being, I would say it is the best way to go for anyone not familiar with the area. If this changes before next Sunday I will let you know, and I will post it on the Cape Liberty 411 thread also. The different toll lanes have signs for Avenue E and Route 440 at the top to ease the confusion.

Thanks for the update. You guys are a great help!

  2. Can anyone explain to me why get all excited about a mini-buffet when a full buffet is upstairs on all ships already? What special things were on this amazing mini buffet that are not

    a) on the full buffet

    b) not on the plated menu

Does it really boil down to the cheapness of some wanting free premium drinks that can't be had at the buffet for those without beverage packages?

Seems a seated, served breakfast is far more "luxurious" than yet another buffet spread. A ture enhancement, versus all the "take-aways" people 'laundry list' off these days.

Smoothies, specialty coffees and almond croissants all with one order. No lines and very comfortable/

  3. Thank you, Adammarra, for the Blu layout. Perhaps Constellation will be similar, though smaller.

candycaramel, no disrespect is taken at all. I understand the question. Here's a bit of explanation. Even traveling with a spouse, there will be times you want to do separate things (and it isn't fair or much of a vacation for the other person to be the safety net responsible for your well-being and unable to leave your side 24/7).

For example, my husband may be off doing an activity while I am in the middle of changing clothes when a room steward might knock at the door and walk in thinking no one is inside. The dog would alert me to the knock. Or in a more serious case, I think about the Costa Concordia that hit a rock and sank at 9:45 in the evening when my spouse foreseeably might be in the casino or at a show while I am back to the stateroom when people are running down the corridor knocking and calling.

A hearing dog is a highly visible symbol of invisible disability, which could be lifesaving in emergencies because its presence alerts other people that the handler may not hear what's going on.

What ghstudio wrote is correct. According to the standards of Assistance Dogs International, when in public, the dog should be within 24" of the handler at all times unless performing a task requiring greater distance. (Although part of their public access test for certification is not to whine or show aggression or anxiety if left with another person while the handler walks 20 feet away.) The dog sleeps on the floor very close to my bed and I am the only one who feeds or cares for her.

The partner training is aimed at forming a specific, one-person bond. My husband sometimes does have to hold onto the dog's leash as needed and would of course care for her if I were very ill or had to have surgery, and there's no question that the dog loves him. But the whole time I am gone, she stares intently at the door or direction I went. So kenneling or leaving the dog with a friend would be too hard on her and disrupt the training.

Thank You for the thorough explanation. It makes a lot of sense and gives a perspective that I had not thought about.

  4. Sorry, let us know. Customer Service was able to quickly fix it for us. It takes about 45 minutes after they update to be able to print.

I had the same problem and called the Check In Help number.

They had me enter the reservation through the front web page 'already booked' and not through "My Reservations". This worked.

  5. Filled in the online booking but will not allow me to print out the Xpres Pass as not ready and will not allow me to print out luggage labels.Cruise is in 34 Days,all-so I have not been issued my Flights or Transfer vouchers-how close to departure do Celebrity leave it.Thanks

We have rhe same issue. If you enter my reservations through "already Booked" tab it will allow you to print. Another web issue. You can also call Celebrity and they will walk you through it...

  6. Are you coming across the GW Bridge? If so, you should be OK. The issue really will be trying to go eastbound from the turnpike towards the Holland Tunnel into NYC.

Please print out the written directions for Springhill Suites. This hotel shares a property with the Marriott Courtyard and the Fairfield Inn and there is only one entrance for all three hotels from the highway. When you pull off the exit you make a left in front of the Courtyard and then a right to go to the back of the property and another right to go along the back of the property to Springhill.

Thanks. We are going over the GW.

    Looks good.

  7. Hi, what price should I bid for a downtown hotel in Seattle for June 2014?

Wht could be a 3.5 or 4 star?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I have been bidding up to $100 for May 16 in Downtown/Pike and Downtown/Seattle Center with no luck.

Got tired of it and took a hotline hotel for $200 - Hotel 1000. Choes this expensive hotel because we liked the location.

There were several 3 and 4 star available for around $150 for my date.

  8. I budget for cruising. That is how I afford it. I don't go first class accommodations. Drive non-fancy vehicle. Keep same cars 12-18 years

Never buy things that aren't on sale.

In fact, we really don't buy anything, except cruises

    :D

Same philosophy. We budget for cruises now that kids are gone, college tuition is done and mortgage paid off.

Underway is the best way now.

  9. We just got off a 5 day on the Connie, and am looking at the Summit for a 7 day to Bermuda. Can someone compare the two ships? Activities, size, pools, food? Is there more than one pool on the Summit?

    Thanks.

Connie and Summit are the same class (Millennium class). There might be some minor differences from the 'solsitization' rehab. Size and passenger number is the same. Pools are the same...

  10. No separate section for priority boarding. Just a different counter. There really weren't long lines at any counter when we boarded. The Concierge cabins are a bit larger if you are sailing on an M class ship. On S class, you get foot rest with your balcony chair. The Concierge room service menu has a couple of additional options. Little extras include a bottle of sparkling wine, the use of binoculars and umbrellas in the cabin, and the (usually not so great) late afternoon canapes.

And more points towards your Captain's Club status.

  11. We can choose 2 of the offers. Thinking of the gratuity and credit, but the offer says the value of the beverage package is more... $88 per day vs $30/day for gratuity.

There are 2 booked for the trip. One never drinks alcohol. Would only drink water. Sounds like its ok to drink tap water, so not sure if the beverage package would be worth more? Any thoughts on this???

The beverage package also includes specialty teas and coffees, smoothies and fresh squeezed juices and sundays at aqua spa. These are all extra charges and can add up. My dil got pregnant after we had chosen the beverage package for her. She had specialty coffee, teas and smoothies. Really enjoyed the selection.

  12. Booked our last TA on a group rate $1695pp (without 123) which was (perhpas accidentally) equal to the price before they raised the price at the same time they introduced 123. When they introduced 123, the price rose to $2395pp. After final payment and without 123, Celebrity's price was $1695pp.

I'm not saying they raised the price for 1-2-3, but you make your own judgments.

We just booked a TA and 123 was not offered.

They said the price is low now and that TA's are excluded.

  13. Actually you just gave me a good idea. I'll buy chips equal to my obc , and then cash them out. People disagree on the forums whether that works though unless you are not allowed to use obc for gambling I don't see how they could control it.

There is a 5% charge at the casino when you use your seacard.

  14. Our last cruise (of 14), we used Celebrity's Air. We were leary but it worked out fine. It was for IAD to MIA and Santiago, Chile to Miami. The Celebrity Air was half the price we could find.

We received itinerary more than 30 days out and immediately booked seats with the airline. We did not do and pre or post cruise days, so do not know if that is available. It is available when you book Choice Air.
