  1. So you don't think the days will matter? Whether we stay pre or post, it will still be a busy busy time? We planned on staying for 4 nights ... so doesn't matter to us before or after. Well with the good deal we got on the hotel, I don't mind grabbing a lyft into the city and spending the day walking and sightseeing. You don't think taking one day for the hop on/hop off it worth it? We are in our late 60's and although in good shape, a day of being out...come the evening, a dinner and vegging to the TV will be perfect.
  2. I would love to stay around $150 give or take per night. But understand the nicer areas might be more so if push came to shove, $200. Do you think it would be better to stay post cruise? We can certainly do that instead of pre. Just two of us, adults. I do plan to take the hop on hop off bus. I really don't know what other plans to have at the moment. Would of course love good food (small town in Kentucky, Dennys is a highlight. hahaha)..... Bed.... prefer a king. Also we'd stay 4 nights I think...
  3. Thanks..... Well I grabbed this as I feared I needed something with the weekend being Charles something. Is there an area that is better for us? I have no clue. So if some suggestions could be made, I can check them out. Much appreciate.
  4. Wow....... thanks so much for the info. I just booked the Ramada on Morrissey for $149 per night. Yahoo!!!
  5. I'm looking at the Comfort inn Morrissey. $250 a night roughly. The Ramada was $159 or so. (3 night discount)... is this good?
  6. We booked for October 2020 and plan to fly in a few days prior to the cruise. I've never been so just looking at Airbnb's..... they give many neighborhoods to choose from. Should we attempt to stay closer to the cruise port? Any suggestions so we can make the most of our stay before sailing? Of course I'm all about the food (live in small town in Kentucky).....but DH is about the history. Thanks

  8. Sailing next week. First time on this ship. Have been on several other RCI.
  9. We are only looking at Royal and pretty much all 5 ships that sail do the same ports.. The longer trips add another port, but pretty similar. Looking like the Adventure for a 9 day for Oct 2020.
  10. You all have been so helpful in confirming my initial thoughts about October. We will look to book the Adventure for 2020.
  11. We are looking to book the Adventure for mid October 2020. Thanks so much.
  12. jr8934... I'm so sorry to hear that. I think we will try the Adventure going in/out of New Jersey. At least that's the plan at the moment.
  13. We sailed on the Brilliance to Alaska in 05 or 06. It was my husbands first cruise and we loved the shop. The huge ships.....they are so big and massive now. I like the smaller ones.
  14. Thanks so much for this information. I think I will look into AOS . We are looking at 2020. Funny your signature says SoCal by way of Kentucky. We are just the opposite. Moved a year ago from L.A. to Kentucky.
  15. Thinking of taking a Sept or October trip along the east coast next year. The ships are Vision, Grandeur, Empress, Adventure and Brilliance. All the itineraries are similar enough for that not to be a priority. I thought maybe looking at the date/rehab of the ship might be wise. Seems only the Adventure is scheduled for dry dock in 2021 so that makes me think since it came out in 2001, perhaps it's rather tired/worn. I'd love any suggestions anyone has. I've been on the Brilliance but it was to Alaska many years ago. I did like the size as I have recently done the Harmony and the Symphony and they are SO HUGE....so don't mind a smaller ship. Thanks much
