  1. We booked independent from the cruise line who offer the same thing (through the same provider) at a much higher rate. It's gentle, but travel insurance won't cover much higher https://mohakarafting.com/cruise-ship-package-grade-2/
  2. We have plans for Napier on the next cruise that look something like this:
  3. We're still 13 days out from sail away, but am interested in what the Wellbeing check does if you click "Yes" to having symptoms of COVID 19 within 7 days of embarkation. I presume that it then goes on to seek further information and confirmation that it isn't COVID, but a friend of ours that just left thought that it lead to "You can't board" which is elevating our tension. That seems extremely harsh (and hence unbelievable) given symptoms could be any one of the vague symptoms including allergies, I've read the Princess FAQ from top to bottom and can't see anything that would lead to a denial of boarding short of a positive COVID Test. Surely this is incorrect
  4. Oh no, the COVID situation has been horrendous in schools this year too. Hopefully she got her reports all finalised before that happened and was able to rest and recover early. What a bummer!
  5. Wow, that's fabulous. There are some really generous people in the world and it's always appreciated when people are that thoughtful. I bet she really valued that!
  6. I'm secondary also but the Year 12's sometimes get awesome gifts, especially if they're 18 and understand the value of boutique gin 🙂
  7. Love it. Thank you for sharing! This is going to help us in the count down to joining on the 5th of January! we're very keen to know which nights are formal as I expect that it will be same/same for ours.
  8. We got Minisuite for our leg, but booked it just short of 2 years ago now.
  9. It looks like the balloons are part of Melbourne's seedy underground 🙂 😅
  10. We'll be on board when you get back in to Adelaide on the 5th 🙂 Hope you have a lovely time!
  11. I'm a teacher and can tick 4 of those boxes in the last four weeks of school 🙂 No bath bombs from my students though!
  12. The truth here is that the service provider was trying to exploit you by making you feel guilty for not providing a tip. They've learned that they can get away with it so they do. Don't let them bluff you or make you feel uncomfortable when they are trying to exploit you.
  13. Tipping isn't part of our culture and that's because our employers pay fair wage and hence you pay a higher price for everything here because it needs to cover those wages. Tipping is essentially already included in the price you pay for things. I wouldn't advise tipping anyone unless they provided extraordinary service that compelled it.
  14. Will definitely keep that in mind. We want them to feel encouraged to try new things and a cruise ship is a perfect opportunity to do so. Our now ten year old discovered lobster on the last cruise we did, and without knowing it's reputation (or price) fell in love with it,
  15. Fabulous! Thank you for the update. Glad that they were enjoyable, and I hope the 7 year old loves them too...a reward for being brave 🙂
  16. I have vivid memories of someone mortified that they had to be in a queue on the way back to Golden in Port Arthur, when they were standing 15th in line to a 100 pax tender. Entitlement at it's finest 🙂
  17. That's a very impressive looking plate of snails! I wouldn't say he has taste when he turns down any form of potato that hasn't been fried 😆
  18. My 7 year old is very keen to know if we will be able to order Escargot Bourbignon on the upcoming cruise. Has it been on the menu this season on grand at all? Kids are very keen on trying new things, and for the 7 y.o., that is top of the list 😅
  19. That's a huge R0 number! All the more reasons to start licking door handles at work this week, so I can get it and be clear by January 🙂
