  2. We brought a bottle there in March was told it was a 25 dollar charge , we had brought a nice bottle , sommelier asked if he could taste our wine , then did not charge us.

My experience also...a small tasting will go a long way and set the stage for the rest of the cruise

  3. I know Lumanie offers good wines, but if want to bring one or 2 bottles of your special wine, but will the wine steward open your wine AND charge you a corkage fee per bottle.??

NOTE: I typically offer the steward a tasting of the wine after opening the bottle and at most fine resturants that takes care of the problem

    .

  4. I found dead me decent deals with Johnny walker blue which is 21 year old blended scotch , need to research before you board several scotch’s were not a bargain. Need to taste any of them before you buy.

Went to a Scotch tasting function on the ship and they told they would match any price found on the islands . A local store in St Martens had Johnny Walker Blue for $125 took a picture of the price tag and of the store who offered it. (right at the port)...Ship price was $175,,,i got it for $125 Best deal of the week!!

  5. Scotch drinkers will be very disappointed at the only comp scotch is Cutty Sark....As some earlier mentioned, its a sad day when the MSC beverage list is better than Azamara.

  6. ALL inclusive depends upon what you are expecting. For example if YOU ARE a scotch drinker the only Scotch offered in the"free" package is Cutty Sark...nasty stuff...so you would have to buy better scotch to your liking or upgrade to a premium drink package.

  7. Just noticed that Viking is advertising "Cultural Cruises" to Cuba but make Havana an optional Tour....... Believe me I just came back from CUBA on Azamara Quest and we visited Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba, I would not go on a cruise that did not have Havana as the main stop with one or even 2 overnights. Havana has the history , people and moreso Nightlife you want to experience. The other stops...the main stops for Viking were OK to visit for a day...but DO NOT miss Havana. Many other cruise ships focus on Havana with the other stops as secondary ports of call....the way it should be.

  8. With respect, all ships do not charge the same amount, and Azamara are telling us that two visas are now needed

WE just got off the Quest...Cuba Intensive visiting 3 ports in Cuba...only 1 visa per passenger was required for a fee of $75 collected by Azamara. (BTW NO OBC could be used for the Visa), Visa was given to us....looked at each time we passed trough customs in Havana...and finally collected in Santiago de cuba our last stop.

You should post your source where azamara is now stating you need 2 visas!!

  9. Most likely Azamara will do their AMAZNG Night in Santiago de Cuba,.. Just got back from the Quest and they took away a sea day from us to add an evening in Santiago for that purpose. It is held at a cultural center and i was a nice evening.

No reason to overnight in Cienfuegos......Havana YES!

  10. Understand that all table games on the Quest will be computerized...no dealers.

For the person looking for Casino action after 12 midnight on Azamara...good luck. Just came off a 10 night Quest cruise and every night was dead with the exception of the last night...and that died at 11..and this was with live dealers!!!

Better than Recency...They have no Casino!

  11. And we did the Parisian on our own. We went into a hotel in Havana and bought the Parisian tickets for $35 each. Shared a taxi with another couple to the Hotel National for 10 CUCs each way. Show started at 10pm and we had excellent seats. Included a drink. Our taxi was also waiting for us after the show

    Did you like the show??

  12. Just back from the Cuba intensive cruise and we DID do the Tropicana on our own.

Left the ship about 8:15 and caught a cab/taxi to the Tropicana...they wanted 30 CUC settled on 25 CUC one way,,,but then he offers to stay for us and drive us back to the ship...deal arranged paid 50 plus 10 CUC for a tip total of 60CUC and this was for 4 people!

Bought tickets for the Tropicana on line before we left for the cruise.....bought the $95 tickets. when we arrived at the Tropicana, they checked our tickets and seated us directly at the stage center...could get no better seats. Waiter comes buy and say drinks will be served at 10 pm (start of the show)...we were offered 1/2 bottle of 7 year run of 1/2 bottle of Chivas (took the Chivas). Also ladies on entering were given a nice long stem Rose and men an encased Cuban Cigar.

Show was for 1 1/2 hours..alot of dancing, music and shouting. Overall opinion of most was show could be reduced to 1 hour and no one would miss it. It was outdoors and weather was perfect. Some men did light up the cigars near our table so be aware it can happen!!!

Over all opinion, show is overpriced and not necessairly Las Vegas quality BUT if you are in Havana it probably is a good thing to see yourself.

BTW..our cab driver was waiting for us afterwards and we got back to the ship about 12 midnight!

  13. We are Elite plus on Celebrity and just completed a Cuba Intensive cruise on Azamara Quest. The real tangible benefits from our Celebrity Captains Club Status were three fold......1) 120 minutes each for free internet (you should get 90 each)...... 2) 20% discount on the Ultimate Beverage package(you would get 15% but you only really need this if you dont have a drink on their already comp package and if you drink Scotch you will upgrade), ...and 3) one free laundry bag .thats one per cabin even though both of us were Elite PLus....other passengers get charged $40 per bag....on a 10 night trip this is nice.

  14. Looking to do a nightclub and of course the Tropicana always comes up. Yea I know is pricy but hey first and probably last time in Havana. If you were to do this on your own from the ship...any tips regarding cabs, or what time to get there,or how to get better seats??? How about the return back to the ship after the show??
