  1. Making our first stop at Bimini in June on the Beyond.

I see golf carts mentioned a lot. Where do you rent them?

Also would love to rent jet skis so any info there would be appreciated.

  2. We were on Symphony 10/23-10/30. Had Boardwalk cabin 9329.

We wanted the closest balcony to the Aqua Theater and were excited when it opened up for us.

Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend it. The ABYSS-mal slide bends right towards the balcony & blocks about a third of the Aqua Theater view.

Based on what I saw, the even number Boardwalk rooms 8329, 10329, 12329, etc have the slide bending away from it so the view may be less obstructed.

The slide ruined the back of the large ships, IMO. I am glad our next cruise is on the Allure & she has not be damaged yet.

Haven't been to Labadee (yet). The CC jet ski excursion has a guide up front and one trailing in the back. They did go by skill level with the more skilled jet skiers in the front positions. I felt good because after they guides saw me operating for awhile, they moved me up forward a position (a "promotion"). Or, the guy in front of me was that bad, lol. The excursion was a blast! We did "S" turns and jumped wakes and of course, jumped the waves (some parts of our run were more choppy than others). At one point, we stopped for a swim call. I'd definitely do it again.

Sounds great! Thanks for the detail.

It sounds like the exact set up as Labadee, except the swim call at CC is replaced by a vendor stop with Labadee locals who paddle up in canoes selling their souvenirs.

At Coco Cay. I had a day pass to the Coco Beach Club on days. I also did a jet ski excursion on day 1. On day 2. I had a day pass to Thrill Water Park but I didn't even use it because my body ( especially in a certain unmentionable part) was very sore from the jet ski ride (think pounding on the waves). So instead, I sat at the swim up bar in the Oasis Lagoon and pounded Pina Coladas all day. Decided to give my liver a(nother) work out.

    Good Morning,

CC Jet Ski excursion: Have you done the same on Labadee? I have 3x. loved it, and am wondering if CC is set up the same. Experienced riders up front, allowed to go fast, a couple of stops to regroup, etc.

Let me know your overall thoughts. Thanks! 👍

I am on Harmony of the Seas right now and feel much more comfortable on the ship than I did at the airport.

Everyone had their temperature taken right away as soon as they arrived at the terminal.  The buffet is roped off so that people have to wash their hands before entering. Hand sanitizer is everywhere and people are actually using it now.
We had to use hand sanitizer before entering the Escape Room and three times during a ship tour. I see the crew constantly cleaning and wiping down hand rails. Does this type of cleaning happen at amusement parks, supermarkets, airports, public transportation and anywhere else outside of a hospital?
I think a legitimate concern, although slim, is what happens if someone on the ship has the virus. As far as catching the virus, the airports are what I think of as hot spots.

i have another cruise coming up and unless something changes significantly, I will go on that one.

It seems like anyone in a high risk group would think twice about traveling during flu season, even without this virus. It’s a personal decision.

    Respectfully said. Thank you!

We leave on the Oasis Sunday. It is not an easy decision but every point you made is why we are still going. No one in our party falls in the high risk categories.

To those who have cancelled, your reasons are fully respected. There will be a next time. 🙂

  6. Appreciate the thread. Looking forward to following all week. 🙂

Getting on the Oasis 3/15/20. 2nd time.

A little concerned about the unspeakable but will be diligent in my cleanliness.

Question: the new outside deck area in front of the Solarium: How quickly are the chairs filling up?

I understand it does not open until 9:30 in consideration of the suites one floor down?

We loved the deck area on 14 forward the last 2 times we were on Allure & Oasis.

Having sailed on the Amped Navigator in March, I can vouch for how amazing this ship is now.  It's really unfortunate that it has been relegated to 3 and 4 night Bahama cruises.  There is so much to enjoy on this ship how that we barely felt like we did it all on our 9 night Southern itinerary.  I hope they open up Amped Voyager and Freedom class ships to longer itineraries, not just the short "party" cruises.

We were on the 3/29/19 9-day and DITTO to all your comments.

Seems like it is wasted on the shorties.

I am also not surprised they aren't adding the Bamboo Room. I am a tiki fanatic and essentially lived in this bar on Navigator. Was it busy...no, never. I disagree with the poster that said it was closed or had bad hours...they seemed appropriate for the demand...and they would close at 12 if they weren't busy which is understandable. It seems like passengers just don't understand or appreciate the tiki culture, but the biggest thing is it takes time to make these drinks. It also takes more dedication as a bartender. I know on the Navigator, our bartender said they have problems getting people to work in the bar because the drinks are so complicated and nobody wants to learn. And also, they get incentives based on how many times they swipe a card and since the bar isn't busy, it adds to that difficulty in staffing.

Hey cot, you were on the 9 day Nav just after our 9-day. We also liked the Bamboo Room a lot. The appetizer's were all excellent and the drinks are as good as advertised.

We saw a fully mixed busy/not busy vibe during our 9-day.

My thought: if it was located with some exterior water view I think it becomes a 'go to' all the time. Being locked in on the Promenade changes that vibe.

We also spoke to a bartender on our last night. I came right out and asked why they are not overly friendly. He apologized and said it was his last night after 8 months straight and it is a hard place to work. He was probably referring to your comments about the detail needed in making their cocktails.

  9. We were on the Nav 3/29-4/7/19. Wonderful 9-day ABC cruise.

The ship is really nice. So colorful.

    Pros:

ABCs- too many great things to say about these islands. Bonaire: amazing!!

    Lime & Coconut, especially 12th & 13th decks.

El Loco Fresh - great idea. The entire fleet needs to add.

Bamboo Room - best drinks, wish it had some water views.

    Hooked - great add RCCL!

    Andy Cruickshank(?) in Schooners

    Playmakers burgers & wings

    Cons:

Running 'track' on deck 12 - might as well remove it. Way too tight, with obstructions everywhere. I used Deck 4. Started outside from Starbucks, starboard side. I crossed to port side, using the forward elevator area. GPS was flaky but the loop is somewhere around .28 miles. FYI: Smoking area is on the port side of deck 4 so if that is a big issue.....

Johnny Rockets Express - no reason anymore. It was always empty.

Tough to find a 'quiet area' to get sun, read, nap, etc. Ended up forward, near mini golf. The ship is overloaded with stuff to do. Definitely designed for the shorty cruises it will start to focus on in May.

'Tokyo Tea' cocktail - for those who know what this is...stay away! Stay very far away!!! 🙂

Overall, it was a fantastic time!

Back to the Oasis class in 2020. 🙂

Correct it's the Deck 4 promenade, a wonderful space!  It's full wrap around but at the front you have to go up a flight of stairs which leads to the bow.  It's honestly one of the best open promenades afloat, and one of the few ships you can go all the way to the tip of the bow.  At night under the stars it's wonderful up on the bow, and yes it was open even then.

    Good stuff.

    Thanks eroller.
