That must have been an amazing and emotional moment for all who stayed on board! I'm sure I would have been brought to tears.
Just catching up with this thread, it did.
I had to go back into our cabin as we came in, it was very emotional
Apologies, I have no idea why they are upside down, OK on my PC

I hope things improve health wise, I can totally sympathise with you having been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer a couple of months ago. I had no symptoms it was picked up as part of a routine blood test.

Thank you, the same to you and yours

We were on the first sailing of Viking Mars and many other Viking cruises, I would absolutely refute both those points. The one issue we had was a couple who fell asleep in the next cabin with their TV on, a quiet word it was resolved.

We were looking forward to surf and tur. one night, but those menus got pulled very rapidly

On the Viking Mars maiden voyage, Karine Hagen had her 2 very well behaved Labradors, Finse and Charlie with her

We are on the the Star now and upgraded our flights London to Toronto to Miami to Air Canada business, very happy with flights, times , value etc would do it again
-
I can only say that we are currently on the Star and have had no trouble getting reservations for all 5 Chef’s Table menus at either 19.00 or 19.30 and they are taking walk ins. I think Manfredis is more popular, we did pick up an 18.30 reservation for later this week, ship is full by the way
-
On the Star now, we are wine drinkers the house wine is still $5.00 per glass and the wine by the glass is $ 8.00 as is a basic brandy/cognac. No real service or supply issues yet, food is excellent although we did hear that Manfredis has been very busy with erratic service and too many customers. Chefs table last night Asian Fusion was excellent and not busy, the couple in front of us at 19.30 were a walk in.
-
Boarded the Star earlier today, had one reservation for each of Manfredis and Chefs Table already, used the app mid afternoon to book three more Chefs tables at either 19.00 or 19.30

In your My Viking Journey it gives detailed country by country requirements, that’s what we followed, just in transit to Miami, boarding the Star tomorrow

Day 6 - You can checkout anytime but you can never leave
Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head…
After breakfast we placed our bags outside of our room, checked out, went to the lobby to identify our luggage, and are currently waiting for the bus to take us to the Acropolis. Big day ahead and we are anticipating boarding the ship. We have an anniversary dinner scheduled tonight at Manfredi’s.
How long did it take you to get to the bus?

More than likely that's for the whole bus.
Agree

$858.00 for a four hour excursion for one person? Is that right? Seems double what the ship is charging, if I did the conversion right.
I would have thought around £150.00 or around $180.00 per person would be right, based on 1750 Krone
-
OneSixtyToOne, really enjoying your updates, we have done the Delphi and Agamemnon trips on previous visits to Greece, great memories, thank you
-
As I recall no facilities, we planned accordingly and minimised fluid intake before going out, it would be very cold to “ go behind a tree”
We were in a mini bus and they offered hot chocolate etc at various intervals and you had the opportunity to sit in the bus and relax/warm up.
It’s all fairly well organised, towards the end of the evening more people were sat in the bus, we were still outside and actually saw the lights forming, it was magical

I echo Johneb2's sentiments, we booked a private tour in Alta with Nord Ekspedisjon, they were excellent and we got several good sightings, they picked us up and dropped us back at the ship.
Its a great trip, if you go to Stavanger have a look at the oil and gas museum, its excellent, we were planning to visit again but never got that far
