I haven't cruised Princess since last year but I hear Carnival now has lower cost wifi and cell options. Has any of that rolled over to Princess?

What level do you have to be to use the preferred line?

I have seen messages from Princess about assigned boarding times and I have read posts about big backlogs.
Should we try to use our 1pm assigned boarding time for Aloha deck or should we just come later to avoid lines?
In the past, coming about 230pm to Galveston was ideal.

I haven't taken the cab but I live there. This is from the Port website:
Yellow Cab Houston
Houston Hobby Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $70-$75 (approximately 30 min / 20-25 miles depending on route)
Pasadena Taxi
Houston Hobby Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $50 (approximately 30 min / 20-25 miles depending on route)

We are headed out on the Caribbean Princess next week and both my wife and I are hobbling ( crutches for her, limping for me). I have been to our three ports before ( Cozumel, Roatan, Belize) and all have long walks down the pier and through shopping to get to the taxis. ( and up a hill in Roatan)
Is there any way to get a ride from shipside to the taxis at any of these ports or from Princess? It sounds silly but 1000 yards of walking can be very painful.

We were there 10 days ago on the Ruby. We used the local Hertz office, also about a 5 minute walk from the cable car. They were good, nice new car, no issues. Way better than the bus.

It blew away everything else we saw on out 12 day cruise. Why it is not more famous, I do not know.
I took a car and driver, the train looked like a ton of walking. Also, if you have mobility issues, you can go in to the actual village through the exit, saves many stairs. Just ask the man at the tour recording rental booth.

It was the Ruby Princess and a smaller Azmara for most of the day. MSC showed up in the afternoon but they were going counter cyclically to the others.

I went to the NST office and they said they had to have 14 passengers to offer a boat. On the good side of things, the cable car had a very short line so we just did that both ways and rented a car from Hertz. It seemed like the best way to do it when there are only one or two ships in port.

Also, can a taxi get you all the way to the entrance?

I have always used the RCL packages to get 10 or 20% off if I buy several bottles. Does Celebrity do this?
Also, is there a way to see the current wine list by the bottle?

I am a Platinum RCL going on Solstice in two weeks, I was surprised that the menu on this thread seems to say they are charging for hot tea and orange juice in the Buffet and MDR. I am reading this correctly?
On RCL, teas were always free 24/7 and OJ in the buffet was free.

I am leaving on the Solstice in two weeks. Is it feasible to drop your rental at the dock or is it a pain?
Best way from Whittier to ANC,Denali, Fairbanks
in Alaska
Posted
We are arriving Whittier on the Island Princess next month. We are planning on driving from Anchorage to Denali to Fairbanks to catch our flight home. We are wondering do we rent an Avis car in Whittier and drive the whole way, take the bus or train to Anchorage to get a car. It seems that the bus or train from Whittier to Anchorage would be about $220 for the four of us. Avis has a reasonable drop charge on a four door Impala but anything bigger is around $1,000 from Whittier.
Any ideas?
