  1. After MUCH frustration and an even worse CSA experience, I FINALLY got our status to the GREEN LINE. Needed to 'order' a medallion; last time I did this I was charged $60 for two when I just wanted the free stick in your pocket variety.

anyhoo...now that I'm in the Green Line I can proceed to order WIFI. As an Elite I've been used to free wifi. I know that there is now a fee unless you upgrade to the plus versions including tips, wifi and drinks.

No problem as I know we get 50% off (altho I heard you get that as a OBC vs pay less...CSA did not know that)

But no way I'm paying $141 net ($282 gross) for wifi on a TA where we got 6 sea days. Thats net $10 a day. Outrageous.🤑

For folks doing business, necessary. For me a retired senior, guess the kids will have to wait till port days to hear from their mom.

I mean really Princess. All excited for our Sept 2023 med cruise on Sky but the medallion app  wow what is wrong with this thing.  ?? I cannot get into the area to put in my passport info, and other info they wanted.. it keeps circling around and around.  Does it not work at night, is this going to be a constant theme ?
also is the regular medallion with lanyard free or is there a charge ..

I too am dealing with the 'circle of doom' on my phone under the Medallion App which I need in order to do Arrival Status update to go from blue line to green line.

BUT you can enter your other info via using a web version now at https://oceanready-personalinfo-ui.prod.ocean.com/

    much easier.

  3. Thanks for enthusiastic replies!

After leaving my number I did get a call back from a support person who checked and could see who my new PVP was and transferred me immediately. A LOVELY person who was knowledgeable, quick to find the cruise, flights, cabins, asked all the right add on questions; I hope they will stay with Princess. They indicated they had been with the company for over 10 years so fingers crossed.

I used to use a travel agent but stopped after missing some deals by the time they got back to me and in the past have always had very good CSA 1-800 Princess service.

Now I think I have and hope to keep my new PVP.

  4. I try to use a more personal booking experience but yet another of my personal cruise planners is no longer with Princess according to her phone message when I call and use her extension.

Now I'm waiting for over 30 mins for a call back from 'the next Princess Navigator'.

I tried phoning 1-800 Princess but that CSA couldn't even find the cruise I wanted to book after me repeating it and my name and my # several times...which did not give me much confidence. I said goodbye and said I'd ring back later.

I COULD book online but given that final payment is due soon as I book I want to make sure I've done it all right.

Anyone else feeling frustrated with the decreasing human beings on the phone?

  5. I had to cancel our cruise due to unexpected emergency surgery 12 days before sailing.

The next day 'coincidentally' a charge showed up on my CC from 'Ocean Medallion Fulfillment'.

I ph'd in to inquire and was asked 'did you order accessories?'

    'No, '

I had downloaded the app which you now need and when I got what I thought was confirmation email; that my medallion would be waiting at the terminal.

PRECovid there was a medallion waiting for us at terminal (vs the old coloured card) so I assumed this was confirmation of that  because they do not ship medallions to Canada (thus it is waiting at the terminal).

Two phone calls during the week to ask about this charge and was told the refund was in the works.

Today I get another email with the invoice for the two sports bands I did not order!

Phoned again and with on hold time included another hour gone. Was told to check the app to see my order history.

WHAT order history? I didn't order anything! And now that the cruise is cancelled I can't get into the app.

Told to phone back AGAIN during the week to speak with a 'Navigator Supervisor'.

I asked to speak with Customer Solutions but was told no I had to go this route.

I'm frustrated to the point of thinking it would be quicker to get a charge back on my credit card.

This is the text of the email I got when I downloaded the medallion app. Nothing in this mentions a cost or purchase of an accessory.

Your OceanMedallion™ order OCEAN-xxxxxxx for your upcoming Princess MedallionClass™ vacation has been received.

Your Medallion® order is scheduled and will be waiting for you when you arrive at the terminal on embarkation day.

Please save your order number for future reference. We hope you enjoy your fabulous MedallionClass™ vacation.

My ask...anyone else experienced this problem?

  6. I'm not asking for opinions on whether masks are helpful or not.

I only want to know what fellow RECENT cruisers have experienced on board.

    1. Do all staff and wait staff wear masks ALL, some or none of  the time?

    2. Do passengers HAVE to wear masks IN public places like the theatres or just when passing through public places?

I ask because a friend on another cruise line who cruised in May, found that masks were worn at the start of the cruise but things got laxer as the cruise went on.

I will do what I am comfortable with regardless of replies; I was just curious what others had witnessed.

    TIA

I don't know how many cruises you have taken since the medallion was first rolled out, but after quite a few I have come to realize that the whole arrival group assignment is just a (lame) way to *try* and spread out when everyone tries to rush the gangplank.  I have NEVER had my arrival group checked at the pier!

You're right,....this is our first with medallion app.

Just a thought, it sounds like maybe you didn’t select your embarkation time yet. It becomes available to select around 59-29 days before the cruise. You go into the medallion app and go to travel check list. Then personal information and documentation. Then scroll down to arrival and departure times

I did and my travel checklist just say 'Your arrival status GREEN'

Under that are other options like My Preferences, Safety Essentials and medallion Net.

So is it like another person said that GREEN was all you needed?

The live Chat was useless for helping.

You don’t have to use the App.  If you have issues with it, you can still do it on the website under the cruise personalizer.

If you go to checkin…right under the

button for download App, you’ll see

a link, for the web version.

You can still print your luggage tags and travel summary 75 days before on the website, just like before.

Don’t stress over the app.  You still

bring your documents to the port for them to check, passport, vax card and covid test results.

Do you know when I can access digital boarding pass on phone? assuming that has a check in time as well...trying to plan ride to the port.

  10. RE Not able to enter Canadian postal code.

Assuming it was to verify my credit card billing info as most online sites do, I ended up phoning and went through a lot of waiting, transferring until an agent entered it correctly for me.

When I asked if others had run into this problem before, I was assured NO never.

Judging by the comments here, that is not true.

yes to the question I did enter the country first.

I know the digital only trick as we too travel in the US but again, I assumed that it had to be correct format to verify the credit card.

    Guess not!

Now I'm trying to find out when I can access the digital boarding pass...apparently not yet for our cruise in 5 wks time.

  11. We don't sail for a month but I'm trying to get my to do list ready. The webpage says the digital boarding passes are:

My ask is WHEN are they available? Nothing there now.

Does the boarding pass show the time as well?

thanks..first time cruising since Covid so this is all new to me.

    MedallionClass Boarding:

Digital boarding passes for your MedallionClass Vacation are available in the MedallionClass app.

  12. Trying to prepare for our first post covid cruise.

I just spent a very frustrating hour trying to do the Medallion app. Can't do it on the PC. Forced to do on the iphone.

Got so far as trying to enter my CC info and it REFUSES to take a Canadian postal code which has letters and numbers...would only accept the numbers. I phoned 1-800-PRINCESS and pushed buttons until I got to Medallion help.

She claimed NO ONE else had ever had that issue, told me uninstall and reinstall app. I did. Still no go. So in the end, she entered my CC info. Without that, it was impossible to go from BLUE LANE (WTH) to GREEN LINE...apparently being ELITE has no preferential to getting on board unless you complete all these steps.

In the preCovid days, all those steps from dining, to CC to passport info was entered through the Cruise Personalizer.

Our last cruise just before covid we used the medallion only to open our doors. I don't see this as an improvement...my two cents.

One device means connected with one device at a time.  You could have ten devices - whatever.  Also, you could have one plan and both cabinmates share the access.  You just need the login credentials for the cabin to login.  But only one person at a time even if you have two devices - IF you only have one plan and one login credential paid.

thank you for explaination! going away to me means 'going away' from being tied to the internet other than checking in back home.

Confused about your thinking here. Was it the extent of the list which has put you off? Presumably you were already aware that cancellations and changes are possible/likely?

The extent of list in that some cruises scheduled for the immediate next several months have been cancelled just when it looked like things were starting to 'open up'. It seems some booked cruisers got lucky; others not. So I will wait longer until things look more 'normal' with less cancellations. i'm skittish as we, like many here, had an April 2020 $$$ cruise cancelled and like many here, had to wait for some time before we eventually were refunded. More stress than I'm comfortable with at my age. Looking forward to things continuing to get better THEN I'll hit BOOK NOW.
