Thanks to everyone for the feedback.

My problem is I've spoken to different people at NCL and I get different answers depending on who I speak too.  Really poor service by team there and why it's confusing as a consumer and obviously to folks here.  I've escalated via the NCL website support and will continue to do so as it should be something they clearly articulate.

End of day while I can appreciate the Haven striving to be a relaxing place, when I have 12 and 14 yo kids that are respectful and I can't go to a pool, or even outside with them in the Haven and am spending $30K+ for a "family" 2Br suite the target market is clearly not families.

    Agree 100%

I cannot get a clear answer on the following -

    1) I have purchased a family villa in the haven - can my children who are under 16 actually use a pool in the Haven with my wife and I present?  The website states you have to be 16 and older to use the Haven Sundeck - one would expect the pool to be on the sundeck.

    2) if they are not able to use the pool or haven sundeck, is there any outdoor space in the haven we can take in fresh air and see the views?

Thanks in advance for the clarity.

To my understanding, there is no haven outdoor space besides the restaurant that the children under 16 can access.

Unlike the away class ships which have the Haven courtyard. The Prima has limited options for the little ones.

Well 5 days out and woke up to what i did not want to happen. Tropical Storm 9 as of this morning is scheduled to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday the day my wife and arrive for our pre-cruise stay. I know it is to early to tell but hope that it stays west.

Pretty confidant that the Getaway will be able to arrive and depart Safely on Thursday the 29th, but may need to adjust out precruise stay. Anyone else thinking about adjusting there stays the night before?

I don’t know how you are confident that getaway will be able to arrive or depart safely on Thursday with an active hurricane in the middle or even off to the side of Florida.

First, there will be 20-30 foot seas on the east coast of Florida starting Wednesday afternoon until about Friday morning. All this while she is trying to traverse her way from New York.

Second, a lot of people are flying in, there will be thousands of canceled flights over two days. many of these flights booked with NCL air. NCL would have to (long gasp) refund these people if they miss the ship.

My thoughts on this is the the cruise will be shortened to 7 possibly 8 nights with a prorated refund for the unused nights. Leaving Friday or Saturday is more realistic at this point.

I’ve been watching the models and they all shifted over the state. Now that we are within 7 days, this hurricane is more predicted and I’m afraid this is inevitable.

Also for your record, I have my degree in atmospheric science.

Does anyone have experience with the expiry of these codes?  What I'm specifically wondering is if the 10% off I have that expires the end of September if it will likely disappear or if it will likely just be replaced with another one just like the "sales" that keep churning.  I know it's a gamble, but curious if anyone has first hand experience.  Have a cruise to book, but ideally would wait until my next visa cycle until my work bonus is paid.

I have never seen this particular discount. I would snag that deal asap!

They will be surprised how less crowded it is due to less rooms. I couldn’t disagree with you more. Non prima, because I haven’t been yet. The epic has the best haven followed by the getaway and breakaway. The escape, joy, bliss and encore are still nice but a tad too crowded for me.

I like the more intimate vibe of the getaway and breakaway haven.

i have often thought that obstructions like slides should be built adjacent to storage rooms, crew elevators  or other non-premium space... even crew quarters. typically, the crew is housed on lower decks in the bowels of the ship... but they don't necessarily have to be.  you're building a new ship... you're reimagining the passenger experience. there's no reason you can't reimagine the crew member's experience. or plan for obstructions to be built adjacent to non-customer-facing areas.

in my vision, if you have hard-to-sell inventory with major noise problems or structural design flaws that affect the view or habitability of a number of cabins, then give those cabins to a crew member. why not house room stewards or butlers near the staterooms they service in these less than desirable cabins? if NCL doesn't  want rank and file employees in there, then give the cabins to the ship's officers... the GM, the chief engineer and such. if they need a bigger cabin due to their positions, then the ship could have been designed that way... with sprawling suites or apartment-style accommodations next to the slides... to be occupied by the ships officers and executives.  and if they need smaller cabins for stewards and such, the space could have been redesigned for multiple crew cabins in the same space as one passenger cabin.

and if that idea won't fly for some reason... again, with all the storage and dead areas on a typical deck, there really is nothing preventing ship designers from building slides and other obstructions adjacent to dead space like storage closets and elevators... nothing except a lack of imagination, that is.

They already have this slide onboard. It’s called the smokestack 😂

    you should try it!

This is interesting but has nothing to do with the slides.  I suggest that someone who has experienced this noise/vibration first-hand start a new topic.

No the only people who post topics on here are for people who’ve never sailed on prima and like to speculate and assume a lot.

    Continue talking about 🛝.

  9. It’s funny people are still talking about the slides that have never been on the ship and most of the people on the ship aren’t reporting back this problem at all.

You SHOULD be concerned about the reports of the creaking and groaning of the ship that almost everyone is posting on their FB and YouTube. Many people are losing sleep over it especially in the Haven.

Now THATS a problem that should be a 6 page thread. Not tubes imposing on a view.

Awesome, I had the 2 bedroom in march on the Breakaway! Loved it! I think we switch out Cagney's for Moderno, since we have not tried it yet. Can't wait for drinks in the Haven Bar!

Indeed! You get much more choices of meats. Try with the pichania. It is absolutely delicious, if you like it a certain temperature. (We like it more well done) just let the host know. They bend over backwards for Haveners.

I'm not sure why, but We have tried Le bistro 3 times on different ships and never had a good meal there so in recent cruises I’ve stayed away. Too me it’s the Olive Garden of French restaurants. Not quite up to the standards of genuine French cooking.

We love the haven restaurant but the menu gets old after the 4th night. We like a little more variety. (As you do as well) see you soon!

Well Wife and I are 13 days out from our 9 night Cruise on the Getaway from Port Canaveral. Wife says I get ready way to far in advance, maybe she is right lol. We will be leaving on 9/28/22 (day after my birthday) from Charlotte NC driving to Port Canaveral and Staying the night pre-cruise. We have booked The Country Inn and Suites in Port Canaveral which included all parking for the duration of the cruise. Cost was $240.00.

This will be our first time on the Getaway but have sailed the Breakaway several times. We will be staying in a Haven Courtyard Suite on deck 16 ( won my last 2 bids on the breakaway to Haven, but Getaway was almost sold out so outright booked it)  We have stayed in the 2 bedroom before and the forward facing Haven Suite and loved them both and sure we will love this one! We have done the Western several times in a row, simply because we were going out of New Orleans (Used to live in Memphis) so the Eastern is a nice switch.

My wife and I love to get dressed up at night, so I have picked up all my Suites and Wife's  dresses from the cleaners and they are ready to be out in the garment bag (Wife is saying its to early to pack lol) We will be using our Specialty Dining at Cagney's and The Italian spot, and also eating the amazing food in The Haven Restaurant.

I have read so many live reviews and it has helped us out so many times, that it's time we return the favor.

Nice! Me and my wife are on the same cruise and floor in the haven (2 bedroom) Don’t over look Moderno. IMHO it’s the best specialty restaurant on the ship if you get the right things. This will be our 4th time on the getaway. Looking FWD to your review!

@WillCruiseForMoneyI noticed this 10OFFS code on certain online TAs for Free at Sea sailings too. The TA site indicates the discount includes open bar, specialty dining, shore excursions, and WiFi, but the quotation does not add any gratuities for the open bar or specialty dining. Does your booking show gratuities for the specialty dining?

Do you know why this code comes up? I find it strange. I mean I just booked a haven cruise on prima with it and it saved $1200.00.

I hope it’s not too good to be true

I sort of like them.  They are different though.  The Master bedroom appears to be very large, just as big as an owners suite.  Gone is the bathroom/shower with the ocean picture window though.  However you get a giant balcony that goes across both the master bedroom and living room.  The second bedroom is a real bedroom with a real bed.  Adults no longer have to sleep in a bunk bed. The second bathroom is so nice too.  Notice these suites now sleep 6 instead of 5.   The sofa pulls out with a real mattress that sleeps 2.   The living room is a bit smaller but you get that long hallway that makes it feel larger IMHO.  Its a much more practical use of space that most families will appreciate.  Those that only traveled with one guest maybe will miss the giant marble bar, bathroom with picture window, etc.  But I think most people will appreciate the extra space where its needed.....the bedrooms.

I miss the bathtub the most. 2 small showers are a downgrade. But everything else is an improvement.

What I was thinking was more of the aperiodic noise of someone going past your balcony.  Perhaps most sliders go by quietly, but there are some that don't and the inconsistency makes it more annoying that if everyone went by making noise. And when I say "noise", I get that it might not be actual screams, but, I suspect that you will hear something.  I don't think the tubes are sound proof.

I agree on both of these points.  I think it is very wrong for NCL to not be up front about the fact that these are obstructed views.   And if they aren't forthcoming with the fact that they are obstructed views, it makes it kinda hard to "don’t book the location".

Where the tubes connect, they do put sound deadening material and the tubes are much thicker then regular dry slides. It’s pretty sound proof. If you ever have been on oasis class you would notice that you never hear anything from the slides unless you are within a few feet of either opening.

  15. The screams (if any) from slides are projected out of the tube at the bottom and top. Not through the side of the slide.

The slide maybe 🤔 partially obstructs the view of 2, maybe 4 haven cabins.

NCL will not remove the slides in any dry dock. When the slides were added to oasis class, it obstructed dozens of cabins from being able to watch the show at the aqua theater, when people complained, they just continued to add slides to the ships even more. And one thing I’m certain of is I’ve never heard screams unless I was very near to the entrance or exit of the slides.

The slides are an popular attraction for non haveners, which make up a majority of the ship (more revenue for NCL) so they are not going anywhere, I can promise you that.

If anything, later down the road after 1000 formal complaints, maybe, MAYBE they will relabel the cabins “partially obstructed view” and charge $200 less. This is really the best outcome you can hope for. If you really have a problem with it then don’t book the location or complain to NCL.

Or better yet, book a real luxury line where you can be with other peoples of your kind and get together in stuffy dining rooms and complain and those hideous slides over at “poor people cruise lines”

I really can’t see NCL giving any compensatory monies for this situation as cheap as they are. Most likely your request will be filtered from concierge to shoreside and then in the eternal abyss.

    Yes and Yes.

Can't speak specifically to the Prima. But on the Joy, there was one concierge and two assistant concierge supporting the 80 Haven rooms. There was one concierge (alone) for the 80 suites. And, like small ships, the suites concierge would hang out in the suites dining room and the guest services versus having a private desk.

Do you happen to know what are the specialty restaurants for the suite class on prima?
