Low carb desserts- that’s a tough one. Other than berries, all fruits are high in carbs. No sugar added desserts are still high in carbs. Berries with whipped cream is a good bet. My go to is a cheese plate.

I’m also on the same cruise and applied for the Bermuda certificate one and a half weeks ago. I got a receipt of payment immediately, but then, as you, nothing. Starting to get a bit nervous, as Oceania says one can’t embark in Barcelona with out one. There is an emergency phone number for expedited service on the acknowledgment of payment email, but it says it’s for those leaving within 24 hours.

I just placed a deposit on a western Caribbean and partial canal transit for 2/23. Of course it is far from being able to place reservations but I noticed there is a place for reservations at The Restaurant as well as Manfredi’s and The Chefs Table. My last two cruises on Viking were pre COVID and The Restaurant was show up and we will seat you. Is this a new, post COVID protocol, do I have to make reservations at The Restaurant?

I guess no more pierside testing after 4/30.

If it’s is a double blind study, how do you know if you got the vaccine or the placebo?

For those who want to cruise as soon as their ship sails, I say go for it. You are right in that anyone who cruises before COVID-19 is under reasonable control and/or an effective vaccine is available, assumes the risk associated with cruising. So if they get sick or die then that is the risk they are willing to take. If the worst outcome happens, hopefully they will die with a drink in their hands and a smile on their face. The bottom line is that people will be aware of the risk and willing to take it. I believe that the cruise lines will have good intentions and good protocols and practices in place to maximize a safe environment. I also believe, based on what I’m seeing every day on the news and in person, that some people will not follow the rules and will put others at increased risk. I don’t begrudge anyone from wanting to cruise ASAP. It is a wonderful way to relax, have fun and see the world. Personally, I will wait and see how things shake out and jump back in when I think the risk is reduced and worth it to me. I do appreciate the folks who want to be first in line to cruise because we need some people to test out the safety and quality of cruising because it will certainly be different then what we were accustomed to pre COVID.
People with COVID do not die with a drink in their hand and a smile on their face.

You all realize that cloth masks only stop about 20-30% of viral particles. There main purpose is to remind you not to touch your face.

I’m sure we will bump into each other. Just over a week to go.

Agree! Every sailaway found us there with a Martini or Manhattan in our hand. Always fun conversations with the friendly bartenders and fellow passengers at the bar.

Signed up for the m & m.

Hey Dusababy, looking forward to the cruise. Will be spending a few days in Montreal post cruise. Sounds like a great itinerary.

Thanks. On Sirena in January. Yehaw!

What if soy milk is just regular milk trying to introduce itself in Spanish?

I had not seen this great idea. Just got back from FP on Windstar. The IC hotel serves their drinks with pasta (1 large diameter macaroni) for straws. And they do not get soggy.

Our cruise is scheduled to leave the Manhattan Terminal at 6:00 PM on Oct 11, and I was wondering about when the ship will pass the Statue of Liberty and the V-narrows bridge. I want to make dinner reservations, it happens to be our 39th wedding anniversary, but I sure don’ t want to miss that special sail away. Would 8:00 PM be late enough?

It seems to me that “Oceania” would be pronounced “ocean-ee-ah” by how it’s spelled, but I’ve always heard “Ocean-ah” by most, including Oceania ads and videos. What gives?

We got upgraded from BX to A about 2 months ago for our 7/19 Tahiti cruise.
What a pleasant surprise

Another FP bound( Wind Spirit 7/19) cruiser thanking you for your review. Your picture( first picture, post #5) is an amazing depiction of L’heure bleue

Just joined this wonderful web site and found this trip review. I have to say, like everyone else, this is one of the best reviews I have read. Your story telling just flows. What wonderful memories you brought to all the cruisers who have been there, and for me and everyone else who has a future trip planned (Windstar 7/7/19) you have raised the anticipation to a fever pitch.
