There is a strange quirk with the new Return with Regent policy; you are allowed to cancel 15 days before sailing for all sailings through 31 December 2022 IF you have booked between 18 May and 31 July 2020; what about those of us already booked?  The 48 hour cancellation seems to expire 31 December 2020; is there a Catch-22 in the middle?

As I read it I think Regent Assurance applies for all cruises through 2022. the ability to book at 50% reduced deposit and $1000 onboard credit is only for May through July

    Here's another question...somewhat related.

Suppose you have a 2021 cruise booked. Regent cancelled a 2020 voyage so "X" amount of FCCs were applied to the 2021 booking.  The rest of the 2021 cruise was paid with a credit card.  Suppose Regent cancels the 2021 cruise - will they refund the amount paid by credit card & then allow the "X" amount of FCCs to be used on a different/future cruise?

I believe the FCC will be carried forward to another cruise.

  3. from my experience with a FCC from the Mar 1 cruise that we cancelled before they cancelled it and gave refunds.

We received cash back for the taxes.

We received full FCC for everything else.

Had to use it all on one cruise. (I'm seeing on some posts that Regent is allowing you to split it but that was not our experience)

found a cruise that we wanted. Credited the FCC up to the amount of the  "cruise only" fare. Owe still the rest which I think amounts to the airfare and taxes.

Had to pay a deposit but it was not based on the full cost of the cruise. Just  the amount that we owed in cash.

I have been trying to book free tours on this cruse but unfortunately the process does not work, for me. Off and on for the last 3 weeks I have been trying to use the booking procedure. I select the tour and the time then select “add to cart”. I made the mistake of assuming it was recorded. I then select additional tours after 4 selections I noticed that the number of “excursions” selected was zero (0). I went to “check out” and sure enough no excursions were present. I did this several times over the past weeks, each time with the same results. My patience finally wore out (I can’t believe it took this long🙁) and I called RSSC when I explained this to the “advisor”, his solution was that I write down all the tours that I wanted (with multiple selections) for each port. I am assuming he had the itinerary in front of him since I gave him our booking number. There 24 ports that we visit, and I was astonished that the {expletive deleted} wanted me to identify the tours and write them down along with alternate selections and send them to him he would record them for me. I unceremoniously told him to report this foul up and get it fixed, then hung up.

I posted this in the roll call first. I want to see what a broader audience would bring posting here.

Now I am using Windows 10 on a Surface platform with EDGE. I used Ccleaner and remove internet Cache and Internet history, and cookies (not the ones I use). For good measure I rebooted. The results were the same I could not save the tours I wanted. It was suggested I use Google Chrome and I did and use the same process. I received the identical results.

I then used our Dell desktop applying the same procedures and there were no differences in the outcomes!

I finally contacted my TA and explained my issues. Well he tried and received the same problems, the tour requests were not recorded!  Well he has a contact at RSSC and the she suggested he compiled a list of the tour codes and times and send them to her. That only took us about 45 minutes; so we will see what happens. You know have a great TA when he will take the time to go the extra mile.😀

I cannot understand how RSSC can market a great product and have such a poor WEB presence🤬. It almost makes me want to use a different cruise line not really, but I wish they would get there act together .

I'm glad your TA was able to send the list to Regent. I am sure the tours will be booked. I still don't understand why you were having so much trouble but if it gets resolved it will be good.

Our 3/13 cruise was cancelled on 2/19.  Complete refund was received last week.  Still waiting for info on FCC.  Regent did a good job on this.

FCC is on your account. If you book another cruise just let Regent or your TA know that you have a FCC and it will be applied. I used mine but never actually got a notice from Regent that it was there, other than hearing from my TA that it would be available

flossie009, perhaps with all the nitpicking going on, we should stop calling it a " 25% FCC."  It's a 25% FCC per person so for most travelers, that means a 50% FCC.

I vowed not to post on this topic again as it has gotten so out of hand but I can't let this go. 25% per person is off the per person fare so it is still 25% of the total paid, not 50%.

    papa,

I loved this idea so just tried to use WIFI calling .  I turned wifi calling on and got this message, "To allow WIFI calling on this account, call Verizon."  So, apparently, not all Verizon accounts have this capability.  I didn't call as I'm pretty sure I was going to hear that I would need to upgrade my plan.  My guess is you must have unlimited data which would cost me $24 per month.

I had WIFI calling with a 2 G shared plan . I think it might depend on your phone. Call them

For those who are booked on cruises that are scheduled to embark or disembark in Hong Kong, it seems that the affected cruises are not until the end of February/ early March.  Unless things change dramatically (unlikely), I think that more likely than not, Regent will be making a change in where you will be getting on or off the ship.  Crystal has changed the embarkation/disembarkation ports that included Hong Kong to Taipei.  Hopefully, Regent will make this decision sooner rather than later, and hopefully, they will step up in assisting passengers in rearranging air arrangements.

we are on cruise leaving mar 1. So far there has been no change and the letter we received reiterated that the cruise has not changed. Others have called them to see about moving to a different cruise because of their concerns and the answer is no.

We have booked this cruise for next year as well in Cat E on the advice of the Cruise Consultant.  It's all personal choice: the Concierge benefits were not a deal breaker for us; we get multiple log ins and priority bookings anyway.  Thanks for the tips about the warm clothing in Iceland - we were anticipating cool, not freezing. JC in CA we might see you on board!

we got good use out of our parkas in Greenland and parts of Iceland.  As far as tenders in Greenland, we did but I don't think it is such an issue to get on and off them.

    Update:

Dear Valued Guest and Travel Partner,

We would like to provide you with an important update regarding your upcoming Regent Seven Seas Cruises® voyage embarking on February 12, 2020.

Your cruise itinerary and land program remains unchanged.

The safety, security and well-being of our guests and crew is our number one priority. As such, due to the growing concern regarding coronavirus infections in China, guests who have visited mainland China within 30 days of their voyage embarkation will not be allowed to board a Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ ship. Kindly note Hong Kong is not considered part of mainland China and guests who have visited Hong Kong will be permitted to sail.

In addition, we are implementing non-touch temperature screenings for all passengers embarking in Hong Kong. Any guest who registers a body temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius or higher, will not be allowed to board.

We truly appreciate your understanding and thank you for your assistance in helping to ensure all guests and crew remain in good health. We also thank you for your continued loyalty.

just got the same email for Mar 1 embarkation. I guess we go or lose our money. If airlines stop flying to Hong Kong they will have to change their decision but as of now our flight is not cancelled

What are "tea lights" and how do you get them?   I find nightlights extremely useful...and ours won't work on 110v.  We will be in the US for a week before our cruise and I am sure we could find tea lights IF I know what to look for!!!  (and how they work)

I believe what they are talking about are battery powered "candles".

  12. we were recently on a Princess Cruise with the new Medallion Class internet. It was great (Not so much the rest of the cruise, but it was ok for Princess.) If they can get the internet up to snuff for 3000 passengers I don't understand why Regent has so much trouble.
