  1. Hello!

I'm not familiar with Norwegian, but I saw some Hawaiian itineraries I really liked so I thought I would hop on here to ask a few questions!

1- Does Norwegian ever have kids sail free deals? Or 3 and 4 person free?

2- Are Norwegian ships good for families? We don't need all the bells and whistles, but my kids like RC's mini golf course and if there happens to be a waterslide, they would love that.

We are looking at Norwegian Sun.. any helpful tips or advice?

    Thanks!

  2. My husband and I loved Serenade and its sister ships! There is so much glass so you get to see the ocean every where you are on the ship. It's got a bit of wear and tear, which is  normal for an older ship but I wouldn't say its in disrepair or terrible shape. We love this class of ships so much that it's mostly what we book for RC

They seem to be on a fuel saving mission. Shorter cruises to close in ports.

Someone posted maybe they are trying to drive us to celebrity. On purpose .. no longer caribbean, no panama transit, none to bermuda or iceland after what's posted. I'm moving and booked thru next spring, cant find anything on rcl I want that sounds interesting. It's not just hawaii.

Wow.... that's so interesting and so terrible...! It's unfortunate because I like RCL's longer itineraries and  repositioning cruises. I was hoping to get a kids sail free deal on RCL to Hawaii... I don't mind taking a different ship but Celebrity and Holland America don't have anything for kids besides a kids club. (Thinking waterslide, mini golf, rock climbing wall)

    Thanks for the info

I am not trying to get flamed.

There are a few ships but not many that will hold 5 passengers.

I do not recall a kids sail free on Carnival sale, as we have 2 kids and would have jumped on that.

We have been booking adjoining porthole/oceanview. The total cost was not significantly more than all in one room. The extra space was well worth the additional cost.

There are also some ships that have an an extra tub in a second “bathroom” deluxe overviews you may want to consider.

I think your best bet would be a TA over a PVP as they may find a better deal on another cruise line

Sorry it's RC that has kids sail free... Carnival has free third and fourth person

  5. Hello!

Just curious, does anyone have a list of Carnival ships that have cabins for a family of 5? I know you can book connecting rooms but I like to take advantage of the kids sail free deals, and we all need to be in the same room for that (plus they are small, so it's no big deal!)

We tend to lean towards the smaller ships but any tips are appreciated!

    Thank you

  6. Besides RC and Holland America, do any other cruise lines have Kids Sail Free?

I usually try to book in a room that accommodates 5 people so my 3 Kids are free. Adjoining rooms doesn't really work for that deal unfortunately.  Any tips help!

@Sunseeker20  - which NCL ship are you trying to find and book a family cabin that sleep 5 ??  (and, that is with just 1 bathroom ... which you are okay with, from what I can gather here.)

As noted, Norwegian Joy is the one and only ship in the fleet with Family Inside Suite - 2 bedrooms & 2 baths, plus a living room - it is spacious and will sleep up to 6 with the upper pullman in the smaller bedroom, the LR pullout double sofabed is really too small for 2 adults to sleep but okay for younger children.  It isn't exactly a bargain from my recent price check ... we did booked and sailed the Joy last year, with two of these family inside suites - mainly b/c we wanted the extra bathrooms.

Curious to know which NCL ship has a balcony cabin (obstructed or otherwise) that sleep 5  ???  as that's news to me.  On the *Away/+ class ships, like the Breakaway, Getaway, Escape and also the Joy, there are a (smaller) number of larger, Family Oceanviews (usually mid-ship on Deck 5) that can sleep up to 6 - just 1 bathroom but not as "cozy" as the average oceanview or regular balcony cabins - they are bigger (longer) lengthwise - a large picture window and if I'm not mistaken, a curtain can be pulled to provide privacy & separation between the main bed and the sleeper/sofa & upper pullman.

Like I said in my original post, I haven't sailed Norwegian yet and don't know the ships,  and was inquiring whether any ship had Family staterooms for 5 people

I'm a little concerned what is going to happen if these small ships like the radiance class age out and i'm wondering if royal caribbean is building new ones. Not all of us like these big ships. I'm also from Vancouver and the big ships can't go under the bridge.

We are also from Vancouver and prefer the smaller ships, mostly for the fact that you FEEL like you are on a ship! We also love the smaller crowds, no wait lines, don't need to book entertainment. We just took our 3 children on their first cruise on the Brilliance and they absolutely loved it! Didn't even need all the extras the mega ships have

Assuming A) They are US Citizens and B) You're on a closed loop cruise, that sounds like bad information.

Their own website has the following: image.thumb.png.77166474abbe33f8aaaab7b05b354850.png

Now, I wouldn't be surprised to learn the website is wrong, but I also wouldn't be surprised a CSR gave bad information either.

No sorry,  we are Canadian.  We got on the ship in Canada  and went to Alaska. It was a closed loop cruise yes

You can also look at connecting cabins with an interior door that opens between them.  That also gives you a second bathroom, but is more like one big room if your kids are young enough that you don't want them in their own separate room.

Yes, I do look at the price for connecting cabins as well. I guess I'm thinking if I want the kids sail free deal, we need to all be in the same room or I don't get the deal
