  1. On our August Breeze cruise, there was a family/group of people front and center near the lido pool at the sail away party who all had (stupid) matching shirts. One guy, who appeared to be the patriarch, was wearing a captains hat (how original). He worked really hard to be the center of attention, trying to stay on camera. When the CD came out to start the proceedings, this guy gets right next to him, continuing the bad dancing, etc. In short order, other Carnival employees and Thing 1 and Thing 2 gathered around the CD, effective pushing the attention hog out of the frame. Once he realized nobody was "Looking At Me", he faded away. Too funny. That 5 minutes reminded me why I avoid the Lido Pool area during our cruises (I was passing through getting some water from the buffet area).

Considering he was the patriarch, he probably wasn't a part of what OP's DH was referring to, but as a millennial, I find it's boomers who are more of the "Look at me" generation anyway

  2. (This is a cross post from the Jamaica board because I didn't have much luck over there and this forum seems more active)

We're sailing in January and one of our ports is Montego Bay. We're wanting something a little more free form than the excursions we're doing our other two ports. I stumbled across some information about the Hot Spot shuttle and wanted to see if anyone who had used it recently could offer more insight. We like the idea of having access to the three shopping areas but were wondering how much variation is allowed with the stops. For instance, we'd really love to go to Scotchie's for lunch, but it isn't very close to any of the stopping areas I've seen mentioned, so I was just curious if that would be an option.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Wish I had a picture.

Favorite is Lavender with Gin, well balanced. They usually add lots of blackberries.

Another one is an Absinthe Drop. Love watching the little machine do its thing.

What do you order when you get the lavender one? I’ve seen a couple mentions of it on here and I’d love to try it!

  5. I don't understand "on line check in opens"?? We only do the on line check in after final payment. There is no need to do it sooner. You only need to have it done the day before your cruise. There is NO rush to do this! You don't get anything special for doing it early.

You can pick check in times and dining times and all that without filling out all the forms for the on line check in. When you get your passport you'll have plenty of time to do all this!!

Ok! I was under the impression that the earlier you check in online, the more choices you have for check in times on embarkment day! But if it’s all the same, I won’t stress about it.

  6. My fiance and I are sailing 1/20/19 on the Carnival Dream as our honeymoon. We get married on 10/13 and our online check in window opens 10/22. I don't currently have a passport, but am planning on getting one. My biggest concern is that I won't have my passport number by when online check in starts. Should I wait and just check in once I receive the passport by mail or check in using my birth certificate (which, according to Carnival's website is acceptable)?

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Congratulations on your up coming wedding! You guys are going to have a great time on the Dream. My husband and I cruised on the Dream for our honeymoon in Sept 2016. They treated us so wonderfully all over the boat.

A few tips that may help. Make sure when you do the online check in that it says it is your honeymoon. Our room steward left us coupons for the spa and for money off a bottle of wine. Also in the main dinning room they gave us a cute little cake and sang for us. We also bought the spa pass for one of the sea days. We greatly enjoyed that time together in the thermal rooms away from the crowed.

I’m not sure if you are stopping in Belize but that was our favorite port. We took an excursion to Caya Caulker. It is a small island that was a 30 min boat ride away. There are no cars there and you can walk the whole island in 20-30 min. Wonderful locals, great food and one of the bars gave us free drinks since it was our honeymoon.

Hope those help you and if you have any questions i would be happy to answer them. We are also huge fans on New Orleans if that is where your cruise from. I’ve got some great tips on things to do there also.

We're sailing on the Dream for our honeymoon in January! What kind of coupons did they have?
