  1. Like in any other restaurant on board (with the exception of the buffet restaurant), they would have to give their cabin number at the entrance... I believe that you can have them as your guests in the Haven restaurant, but that they have to pay for their dinner -and it is not cheap.... At least this was the case a few years ago....

    What about breakfast and the courtyard

  2. OK so there's lots of talk about this new upgrade bid system that went fleet wide recently.. so Im wondering

    - what offer everyone received

    -what cabin do you have now?

    -did you bid ?

    - if you don't mind telling what did you bid

    - was it accepted

    -how long did it take to get accepted?

    So it not looking good for me at all im 3 week out from my sailing and haven is sold out unless someone cancel I doubt I will be upgraded .. when I look at my sailing damn near the whole boat is sold out .. I do have a question do you thinking the inside and balcony rooms rates will go down within the next 2 weeks .. I have a few friends that will like to join us but the inside room is more then What I paid for a haven right now it's crazy

  4. I just received my email for my cruise next month. There is 4 haven category's available for the bidding but only 1 stateroom kind is available thru the website. Is it possible if I bid for 2 bedroom they might put us in owners if they don't have 2 bedroom available? Or do they only put you in staterooms you bid on?

    From what I read they only put you in the room u bid on .... think of it this way if u bid on a 2 bedroom and the person in the 2 bedroom got a bid offer today they will bidding for higher categories they will be moved up and u get there 2bedroom ... hope I make sense ..... so even though u only see 1 2bedroom if others move up they will be more available

  5. As pervious poster said if you put in a bid and it accepted they will charge your card right away so if the upgrade is to much I would say stay with what you got ... I also got the bid email and I have the option to upgrade from my haven aft pH to a 2 bedroom or owner suite ... I would love a owner suite so I bid 250 per place it only 2 of us so that a 500 upgrade it alot but the owner suite are almost 5000 dollars I will totally shock if I get it I only bid 150 for the 2 bedroomroom but it will be still a deal if I get it cause it would be cheaper then if I brought it when I first booked I doubt either of them willl get accepted as they were both very low but we will see

  6. I googled the terms and conditions and it said if unsuccessful you will stay in the same category. Can I presume that means "same cabin"? I would hate to lose my pre-selected cabin while trying for an upgrade. Anybody out there whose bid failed? Did you keep the same cabin?

    Yes you stay in your same cabin it actually tells you that in the email .. it says if your bid is not accepted everything will stay the same.

  7. Got a email today to bid on a room upgrade for my up and coming epic cruise in march anyone else get this email I'm in the haven and only have 2 category that higher then what I have. Which is owner suite and owner suite .. I would love to upgrade but refuse to bid to high wonder if I will get pick it would be awesome if we did but I doubt it m.. anyone else get this email did you bid on a upgrade

  8. Let's see... my well-tipped Butlers have:

     

    • located and retrieved a misplaced backpack

    • brought us (without asking) hot chocolate and warmed towels when we were returning from a very chilly excursion and also ran us a hot bath

    • retrieved a meal from the main dining room when a parent had to dash a sick child back to the cabin

    • arranged for the chef in a specialty restaurant to prepare a dessert that was removed from the menu (a joint effort with the concierge)

    • arranged for the chef in the main dining room to prepare my favourite meal (this was a surprise!)

    • acted a liaison with concierge, when concierge was hard to locate

    • got my kids specially decorated fruity drinks during the Captain's Reception

    • tailored our snacks to our tastes

     

     

    What my un-well-tipped Butler did:

     

    • falsely accused my teenager of stealing the "pool closed for the night" sign from the Courtyard. She did not. I wasn't impressed.

    Wow... about both situation ... so did you tip the Butler in advance oh at the end of the trip or daily .. I'm impressed by all the tipped Butler did!!!!

  9. I didn't realize this was such a sensitive subject. I had just noticed on previous cruises that there were "tween" aged kids around by themselves so I figured it was pretty common on cruise ships. I guess it's like most things when it comes to parenting...assessing the situation, knowing your kids, and deciding if you're comfortable with it.

    Ever single topic is a sensitive subject on here if you ask me ..lol everyone has a different opinions.. all in all its what u think will be best for your son ... that being said if he has a phone or ipod make sure he takes it and get the ship text package I feel this will let you and you wife be a little more at ease cause they can contact you and verse versa

  10. this is what my butler did for me. room service bfast on disembark day from haven restaurant. very good choice!

     

    room service 2 or 3 times. the pizza is very good as are the chicken nuggets

     

    never had him retrieve anything for us. gotta admit in a year on this forum i've never seen that asked. but i guess that would be one reason to carry the phone around with you.

     

    of course they bring you the afternoon snacks but if you ask for anything specifically , they will get that for you instead of the default snack of the day. gummy bears and m and m is something they can bring . i forget what else.

     

    just make sure you let them know early about your preferences. like the morning before you leave cabin. if you leave a note at 1pm you arent gonna make them happy

    Yummy Gummi bears for sure!!! It would be me to asks a weird question like that though but I really wanted to know .. lol

  11. One time, while waiting for a show,my son wanted a can of Mt Dew, so he went back to the cabin to grab 1 from the refrigerator. He came back with the, in his words, "butler phone". Turns out the butler saw him and said if he ever wanted another one, just call him and he would bring one . Tyler thought that was amazing.....well, that and the fact that the butler called him Master Tyler.:D

    Lol that to funny my son would get a kick out of that too
