Our Viking transfer to Anchorage was a delightful bonus at the end of our wonderful cruise. I expected to board a bus and be dropped off at the airport. Instead the busses went to a convention center downtown where our luggage was waiting in a ballroom monitored by several helpful attendants. Since our plane didn’t leave until 10:30pm we were able to explore the city, have a great dinner then return at our leisure to be transported to the airport on shuttle busses. For those folks who didn’t want to explore Anchorage, they could hang out at the convention center until time to go to the airport. Such a great perk!

Hey z111. We went on the kayaking excursion this morning then explored the town. Sitka is delightful! Several items on The Restaurant menu for dinner tonight look promising. Fingers crossed. We are also on the 6th floor.

Hello z111. I am on your same cruise and I too have found some of the food (not all) rather disappointing. I’m no expert - this is only our second Viking Ocean cruise - but I remember the food being much better overall on our last cruise. My pasta last night was cold and the sauce rather congealed. The risotto on Tuesday was very bland. Otherwise we have had a wonderful time so far. The service is awesome (as always) and we have met some delightful people. I hope we cross paths!

Our flight out of Anchorage isn’t until 10pm. Is there a later bus or do they all depart early in the morning?
