We are cruising (hopefully?) in August, 2021 from Miami. We are hoping to stay at the Hampton Inn,  Brickell. How far in advance do you recommend booking the room? Right now they are not available, and I'm assuming that it is because it is too far out, not because they are sold out. I'm hoping that is the case!

Hi everyone! I just booked a cruise on Symphony for August 2021, and when I try to look for excursion and drink package information on the website it says "Uh oh. It looks like you’re trying to reserve a product too far ahead or too close to your sail date." Does anyone know how far in advance I will be able to book the extras? Thanks so much!

This is all super helpful information!! We have only been on one cruise, so I am still a little nervous about navigating my way around once we get off the ship in the port. Did you find it easy to find the Native Choice folks once you got off the ship? We will have our 11 and 10 year old kids with us.

Where do you want suggestions for? You are probably going to get more suggestions on  individual boards -  Cozumel is very active (relatively speaking after CC upgrades).

 

Lots to do in Cozumel but if you have a private driver in Roatan  easy to add on animal sanctuary. Not sure what sort of jungle excursion you are seeking?

Sorry for being confusing. We haven't booked anything yet, so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about ruins excursions in Costa Maya and/or if they thought we should be doing anything completely differently. Hi everyone! We are cruising on RCL (Symphony) with stops in Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Maya, and Coco Cay. Family of four with 2 kids ages 11 and 10. We know we want to snorkel in Roatan, do ruins in Costa Maya, and do waterpark at Coco Cay. I was really hoping to get a jungle excursion or animal sanctuary in as well. I'm fine staying on the ship in Cozumel if we can do two excursions (jungle and snorkeling) in Roatan. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, everyone! We are about to book a Western Caribbean cruise on Symphony for August 2021. We are a family of four, with two kids who will be 11 and 10 at the time of sailing. Ports are Costa Maya, Roatan, Cozumel, and Coco Cay (in that order). We know that we will do the water park at Coco Cay. I am hoping to get some advice about what excursions are best at what port. We would love to see ruins, go snorkeling, and do a rainforest/animal sanctuary tour. I see options for most of these at most ports, but want to make sure I am not snorkeling at the port that has the best ruins and vice versa. Any input would be a huge help!! Thank you!

Hi all! We are traveling this Friday with my children and my niece and nephew. My son is 47.5 inches (all others are well above 48), and I'm confused by the different information I'm seeing about height restrictions. I understand that he will not be allowed on any ride that has a minimum height of 48 inches.

I received an email just today with a map (attached here) that says that he would be allowed on the Slingshot slide with an adult, as well as the Manta Racers, Twister, and Splash Speedway. However, this link seems to indicate that he would not be allowed on the Slingshot at all. Has anyone been in the last month that could let me know what their experience has been? I just want to prepare him. I really thought he would be taller than 48" by now when we booked the cruise, but that was wishful thinking. He's being a champ about it, but I know it's hard for him to be the only kid in our group with this issue and I just want to make sure I'm not giving him wrong info.

Usually I would say make the reservation for adults and add the kids on board however, in this case due to it being a large party you really should book and pay for  all 10 and get the money for the kids refunded on board.  There is a chance that they might not be able to accommodate changing a party of 6  to a party of 10 at your original booked time.

Thank you! It says on Cruise Planner that I would be given back the difference in "refundable OBC." Does this mean that if we don't use it, it will go back on my credit card? I'm sure we will find a way to use it (kids at arcade, shopping, etc.) , but I'm curious about the wording. I really appreciate the help.

Hi everyone! First, thank you so much for the wealth of helpful information. My parents are taking the whole family of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) on our first cruise next month. I would like to take everyone out to dinner at Chops one night (we are on Adventure), and am a bit confused about how to do it. I do not want to make it online because I do not want to pay full price for the 4 kids who will eat off the kids menu (I know I will get that back in OBC, but don't love that option). I am scared that if I wait to board, the prices will go up and/or there won't be availability.

My dad went through a travel agent, and I would like for my parents to not find out about the dinner ahead of time (I'm afraid they will try to pay for it, and that's exactly the opposite of the point). Am I allowed to call Royal myself, with our three cabin reservation numbers and have them do it for me? Any help would be wonderful!!

That's good to hear. Unfortunately, my daughter has a growth hormone deficiency, and her growth hormone does need to be refrigerated. My brother has type 1 diabetes, so I am hopeful that his insulin will be good to go! I'm so glad to hear that I can email the special needs department!
