  1. Totally agree on dress code needing to be respected. If people don't want to dress up then they should go to the buffet.

We saw people in Surf & Turf wearing shorts and fitflops on Discovery 2! Well out of order.

Tui definitely need to insist on dress codes and not allow entry to MDR or fee paying restaurants if not dressed suitably.

  2. Kora La was also cheaper at those times as well. I always used to take a travel iron on holiday ...but can't remember the last time i did now...πŸ€”... years πŸ˜‹There is a laundry service but you can rinse things out and dry in the loo.

I always take those stretchy ropes and some plastic pegs. Never went out creased yet including hubby's shirts 😝

  3. We paid about Β£29 each for surf & turf but it was on offer cheaper for early sittings, about 18.30 i think and also later sittings, maybe 21.30. You can take a travel iron now but its surprising how you do not need one if you watch how you pack. You are on holiday after all πŸ˜‹ Have a great time!

  4. Last year on Discovery 2 we saw people walking into Surf & Turf in shorts t- shirts and flip flops!😡

Absolutely out of order that we are paying extra to sit in a restaurant for a different atmosphere/ ambience and different class of food and see people being allowed in that can't be bothered to make an effort 😠

We are not snobs by any stretch of the imagination, but this is just wrong.

We do not think this attire should even be allowed in the main dining room far less the a la carte's.

We enjoy dressing for the dinners in MDR and consider it an enjoyable part of our holiday,as we do not do this so much at home. If people want to dress so casual then why not just stick to the buffet?

Marella to blame though for not monitoring dress code... and also not monitoring hand sanitizing.Β

Hand sanitizing should be compulsory for entry to any restaurant! Rant over... 😝😝

  5. Hi,

Thanks for replying,it is much appreciated πŸ‘ We didn't upgrade on the drinks package as it had more than enough for us and we really enjoyed what we had. I have read a lot about the staff being great and a really good atmosphere, but also about bad vibrations and it looking a bit shabby. Also the place for the shows wasn't nearly as nice.

We like good food and drinks, the shows, also music/ singers/bands. We like our comfort too which we did get on the Discovery ships. I think it would probably be more sensible to go with the Explorer 2 but as i said Naples airport is awful

...and we do like the itineraries on Celebration. I just wouldn't want us to feel like we were going down the ladder instead of up, for want of a better explanation 😢 Also adults only really does appeal.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

  6. Hi all,Β

We have previously cruised on Discovery 1 & 2 which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Would we be disappointed if we tried the Celebrity? So many mixed reviews as is always the case.

The sail 3 seas itinerary appeals though.

We had thought of trying the new Explorer 2 but Naples airport is putting us of as it is a nightmare.

Also, would the drinks be as good on Celebration as on Discovery 1 & 2?

Explorer 2 drinks would be great i'm sure and adult only too,but we quite fancy Celebration.

Help! Any advice would be much appreciated  😊

  7. Hi Sandra,

Could you tell me please how you managed to get your visa money back? Also, how much was it?

We were told onboard to phone Marella when we got home, which we did,but we were told that it was not refundable as it hadn't been included in the cost of the cruise. Thought it a bit strange but the person on the phone was adamant that it would not be paid out. Thanks for your help.
