This is what it says:The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct an annual inspection onboard Anthem of the Seas. We may experience some boarding delays, so we ask that you arrive after 1:00 p.m. Please arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. All guests should be checked in and onboard by 2:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you soon!Could this be a joke? My son is going on Anthem tomorrow and he did get an email yesterday stating that the Coast Guard is doing an annual inspection on his sailing and the boarding times were changed. How could it be an annual inspection if it's conducted twice in a 3 week span? There's no way everyone would arrive after 1 p.m. and all guests would be checked in and onboard by 2 p.m. Also, I have never gotten a text from RCI and it doesn't really look official to me. At the bottom it says "everbridge," whatever that means.Did anyone else get this?I am sailing on July 21st on Mariner, I got the same message that is posted here but asking us to come an hour later if I do that it puts me in the last window to board and I won't wait that late because of possible traffic issues with the roads around Orlando. I plan on being there just before my boarding window that starts at 1:30pm not 2:30pm when the boarding closes at 3pm for this cruise. Wow what a mess.

25 hours, straight though. Could be faster but the women refuse to pee in a cup.
That is a two-day trip for me but as I live in Florida it is a 2 hour and 15-minute drive for me to Port Canaveral.

IF the cruise is overbooked they will start offering people more and more incentives to change their cruise. Actually being cancelled because they are overbooked is unbelievably rare. If it was something that happened with any frequency this forum would be littered with threads "Royal cancelled my cruise!!!! 😞 "
I agree and this has only happened to the newest and biggest ships and only a few isolated times at that.

Almost all AFT balcony's have the obstructed symbol, but no one seems to care if they want a aft facing view. There are no obstructed balcony's on either side of the ship. If you are not happy with the cabin assignment you can change to any other same category cabin on the ship that is available. There have been a few posts recently that some reps are saying no to a GTY cabin change, never mention you have a GTY, just let them know the cabin number you would like to change to. If you are using a TA then the TA must make the call to royal.
We have never had an aft Balcony before and those always seem to be in demand. But what happens if the cruise is over booked? Been readying about just that recently but not mentioned Mariner of the Seas at least.

We have a guarantee for Mariner on July 21st I am sure that lifeboats will probably be a problem for us but I will just have to wait and see. How close to the cruise do you get the assigned rooms? That is something I would like to know.

We just returned from Harmony of the Seas Cruise and wearing the masks was not a big deal. I work in a hospital, and I am used to it anyway. The mask policy was rather well complied with and on Friday everyone was talking about the change in the policy to increase mask usage. When outside in Central Park with hardly a soul in sight we took our masks off just like we did when seated dining. Mask policy can help but the big hole in all of this is you're not able to eat while masked. Harmony was about at 60% capacity for the 12-19th cruise and while different, the changes were not a cruise stopping event for us. In fact, Windjammer Marketplace food wastage has to be way down now.

Our Cruise is on Harmony of the Seas out of Port Canaveral Dec 13-20th. Our biggest problem will be getting a pre sail test as those are hard to come by in Florida. That being said I am not counting on going this year even though I voted December for limited sailings.

Good points but I do not see an effect Vaccine until sometime next year regardless of what the Media and Pharma says as there are to many unknowns yet.

But as @John&LaLa mentioned, it’s only a few hours to other ports like PC, Ft Lauderdale, and Miami. He is correct. It’s a fact. Actually, you could make PC in a couple of hours.

I have Cruised from Miami Port Everglades, Port Canaveral (about 2 hours) and Tampa (90) minutes. Tampa is closest followed by Port Canaveral Everglades and Miami at 3 hours and 30 minutes drive even Miami is not a ad trip

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. What other gulf coast ports are there in Florida?
Maybe John was thinking the better ports are in Galveston, TX? 😉
Florida Gulf Coast Ports? Tampa is the only Big one. Naples, Florida do they even have a port? Port Charlotte way to shallow. Ft Myers Cape Coral and Punta Gorda? all way to small or way to shallow for big ships. Pensacola? That had a Naval base so they could possibly do ships from there.

December of 2020 is our target. if we do not go then we will just extend our FCC until it is safe.

Crown and Anchor already has enough headaches. I was greatly surprised when our March 15th to 22nd cruise on Harmony of the Seas was cancelled. A few weeks later we saw the cruise points for a cruise that RCCL cancelled in C&A and a kick to the next level. 2 weeks later the next level was gone but the points were still next level. I do know that C&A has enough to do with just the point and tier system and until that gets fixed I suspect no other changes will show up.

Is it possible that the heat and humidity suppresses the virus without killing it?
I.e., things would have been worse had the Temps not been so high?
Exactly what the numbers suggest too Look at New York for an example.

Sometimes these things are just random.
Cold weather is friendlier to the virus than hot humid weather is.

Rebooked for Dec 13th on harmony of the Seas. I sincerely hope this holds as I am way overdue for a nice cruise vacation.

We're waiting.
My Crown and anchor shows the points for the Cruise that was cancelled but Crown and anchor status was downgraded back to the previous level even as the points for the higher level remain .

Many reported that they got points credited for cancelled cruises - RCI may eventually fix that.
Or maybe not.

I don't believe there is any scientific evidence of that yet, just wishful thinking by some people.
So if climate has no bearing on it then why is New York in cold wet weather numbers of cases exploding far faster than Florida with it's hotter and dryer than normal weather this year? If memory serves New York was faster shutting down than Florida too. So time is going to tell and the weather studies will finally come into play as well.

Very interesting topic. You are all talking about Crown and Anchor Points? our March 15th to 22nd was cancelled by the line and not us. Our points did change a few days ago. And our status changed as well.

I have an 11/15 cruise booked on Oasis. I will be shocked if that happens.
We have a 12/13/2020 on Harmony of the Seas to replace the March 15th to 22nd that got cancelled by the line. But I was surprised when our Crown and Anchor status changed 2 weeks after the cruise was cancelled. Now that was a surprise.

Maybe we here in Florida took it more serious than some think. Though tourism is our #1 business...we have closed the state down to tourists here, hotels, rentals, theme parks, the Florida Keys to non-residents, etc. There are even check points for licence tags from "certain states" on the highway. Our beaches are closed as well. Believe me...this has hurt our state and the families that depend on that tourist dollar to do so.
I agree Florida is doing what it can to get things done. Bottom line is the virus does not do as well in hot moist climates. As Summer arrives things will slow down. but when it gets cold again a second round very well may start if a vaccine is not out before then.
