Was there a pirate party? Were children allowed in the clubs?
No pirate parties. They had a super scaled down pirate night- mostly just the different menu in the dining rooms and characters in pirate garb. Children’s clubs were open, except for the nursery.

It would be tight. If you’re off the ship by 8, it should be doable. I would pre-book the Uber or another shuttle service to avoid snags with getting a ride over, especially as that is a long trip for an Uber.

I’m vaccinated and did not have to do any testing before or during the boarding process. I did submit my vaccination info beforehand. My party and I went through the walk-in tent area and were waved through once the staff verified they had our vaccination info. Didn’t even have to show our vaccination cards at that point.

I was on the first two sailings. Unvaccinated kids were not separated from the others, but everyone had to wear masks. I'm not familier with the Rockledge area, but Walgreens/CVS are offering PCR tests.
***Make sure you are getting the PCR test!!!!*****
Folks getting the antigen test were denied boarding at the port. Many (most?) rapid tests are the antigen type, so make sure you're doing the correct PCR one.

I would double-check whether the nursery will even be available for a May cruise. It was closed on the first couple of sailings.

I spoke with the cruise director on the first sailing- he said there was about 1,600 booked for the first sailing. About 40% capacity as the ship normally can do about 4,000 guests. The second sailing had around 800-1,100 (I kept hearing different numbers, but definitely lower than the first sailing). The second sailing had so few guests that they shut down one of the main restaurants each evening.

I just got off the first and second sailings of the Dream. They had characters out frequently- they were listed as something like "character waves". Guests could walk up to the characters and talk to them from 3ish feet away- but no hugging/touching and no autographs. People could take photos with their phones. Sometimes in the evenings Disney had a photographer out with the characters as well.

Just so you know, every ship has a log in book for lost and found that are turned into GS. When a cruiser calls Royal because they lost something, Royal calls the ship, the ship looks in the book, if it's not there that's it.
I wonder if Royal also logs missing items. When I've done lost and found in the past, my company logged any calls from people looking for stuff- so if the item does turn up later, it's possible to get it back to the seeker.
-
My opinion would be to return the items to Royal. I've worked lost and found for a hospitality company, and people looking for their items would call us. They weren't checking random internet message boards for their stuff.
But barring that, I would at least post room number and sailing date as it'll help stand out for anyone who lost the jewelry.

Which port?

Glad you enjoyed it!

Remember to take a bottle opener if they have a cork.
Royal will provide a corkscrew upon request.

If you have Netflix, a show called Megafoods did a documentary on the Oasis of the Seas kitchens. They are definitely not reheating prepared foods.

That's doable, even if you arrive in PC a couple of hours late. From PC, it would be a 3-4 hour drive down to Miami.

Royal usually refunds any port fees if a stop is cancelled. Since this cancellation is several months in advance, RCI might be able to replace the port with something else instead.

Really no other pkg for beer & wine.?.odd usually 2-3 levels.
Yep. This changed a few years ago. The requirement for everyone of drinking age in a room to buy a drink package is new this year. Royal is allowing non-drinkers to buy the refreshment instead, but this has to be done over the phone. It can't be done through the website.

Yep, plan your visit around Port Canaveral stuff, not Orlando. For the age range you mentioned, KSC might be a fun stop. They have stuff for kids and adults.

If it doesn't print before your cruise, it's not a big deal. Just a little extra paperwork at check-in if you don't have it.

Thanks for all the great feedback. You wouldn’t by any chance have the menus for the 6 days would ya? Or even the order? Basil, mojo ect.

The new menus are no longer following the seasonings themes.

If you do purchase one of these "sale" drink packages, or any drink packages for that matter, you pay up front?
Yes. Same for any purchase in the cruise planner.
-
The cruise planner closes 72 hours prior to sailing, so that's the last day a discount could be offered.
-
I'm booked for May of 2019, planner sez too early to purchase drink package. What is window when usually available?
It varies by cruise. I saw it pop up on my cruise around the 9-10 month our mark.

If you pay when you book, how do you cancel and rebook if you find a lower price?

You can cancel and rebook through the cruise planner. If you used any OBC, it should be refunded immediately so you can use it to repurchase.
No character meet and greets?

The first two cruises had fireworks, but no “Buccaneer Blast” that I was aware of.
