  1. Thats ok, i should bring my refillable water bottle. Can you get ice at the buffet as well?
  2. By canadian standards, the cost of the frozen alcoholic drinks is cheap at around 10 or ll dollars. You are probably looking at 10.00 for a mocktai in canada. I guess in the states drinks are cheaper.
  3. Thanks everyone. The daiquiri and mojito are cheap by canadian standards. Can you bring bottled water on board as well? I’m thinking it may be good for port days.
  4. Thank you! Good idea to check. Yes i'm thinking i can only get maybe 2 frozen alcoholic drinks, 1 mocktail and a specialty coffee. I think it may come to around 50US but that's probably low balling it.
  5. Is there a fridge in the room where I can put cans of pop? I appreciate peoples responses. I know some can't understand those of us who don't get packages.
  6. Just to add, part of monetary happiness theory is that if you pay in advance you are going to enjoy the money/service more. That's what is so great about cruises. You pay in advance.
  7. I'm contemplating getting the shore credit a couple of months before cruise. By the time of the cruise, the drinks will seem free. That's the idea. Buying at the time is not the same.
  8. Its nice to pay in advance and not have a credit card hangover when i get back. I intend to spend it now i know i can easily see balance. 67 canadian is not a lot. Classic soda package is 167 so there isa saving though i know princess cruisers are big on packages. I intend to buy some cans of pop too in advance i mean.
  9. No thanks, i don’t need the internet and drink mainly non alcoholic drinks. Last cruise i only had 2 mocktails and one specialty coffee so i figure if i get 67 onboard credit, that will be a splurge. I just didn’t like dealing with the bill last time so thats great if you just need to swipe.
  10. Thanks, am i able to see somewhere how much onboard credit i have left?
  11. I’d like to buy some onboard credit for buying drinks. I’m wondering if it would be a frictionless process where they just swipe your medallion and don’t give a bill? Is shipboard credit nonrefundable?
  12. For my 7 day cruise i'm in port 8-10 2 days and 2-10 1 day so paying internet doesn't seem compelling. I have a cabin and we don't have the internet or tv so i know i can unplug. I'm also from canada so don't believe the medallion can be mailed. I'm the type that drinks water at dinner in restaurants. I found the port i'm leaving from i should be able to get some pop cans. I assume there is a fridge? Plus may be a good deal but its not for everyone.
  13. I'm actually a little concerned i wouldn't enjoy it if i have so many drinks. For me, an alcoholic drink or mocktail is a treat and i probably only have it a couple times per year. So to go to 2-3 a day is quite a lot.
  14. Lol I meant that as the total amount for the week, not per day. I don't need a lot. Thanks though!
  15. I just want to add that i've done a lot of reading on personal finance and people are totally correct that they'll get more enjoyment if they pay upfront and don't have to pay for each and every item from a monetary theory perspective. That's what is so great about cruises. I'm hoping by paying for onboard credit up front that i'll get at least some of that enjoyment.
  16. lol I'm apparently too cheap even to get the classic soda package. (I drink alcohol minimally so plus not worth of it.) However, i've always thought of things like specialty coffees and specialty drinks to be treats and don't know how i'd feel about downing more than a drink a day. My last cruise i got 2 mocktails and 1 specialty coffee. So perhaps i can get 1 alcoholic drink 2 mocktails and 1 specialty coffee and that will be a splurge for me. I was thinking of just getting 67.00 onboard credit and then i assume they would just swipe your medallion to pay and at least that part would be easier. I was also going to try and scrounge for some pop cans before the trip.
  17. Yes i am flying in the day before to lax for san pedro.
  18. Thanks. In canadian dollars it works to 167.00 for the classic soda package which seems quite a lot. I'm debating just getting soda cans and then maybe getting 67 shore credit so its easy to purchase the drinks. I don't really think i need 2 mocktails a day, i think one would be enough. I'll think about it though. It would be a splurge.
  19. Curious is there any where to buy canned pop near crowne? Have a separate thread about buying pop before you get onboard.
  20. Thanks. I'm thinking this is unrealistic as i am flying and wouldn't want the weight.
  21. I guess it wouldn't be convenient to bring 6 cans anyways. Can you bring the can into the main dining room, or just the buffet and other areas of the ship? This may be a cheaper splurge.
  22. Thanks. With royal caribbean you are able to bring cans of soda onto the cruise. Is that not the case with princess?
  23. Thanks everyone. Is price of mocktails 8.00 pls tax and tip? Trying to work out if its worth it.
  24. Does anyone know what juices they are referring to in the classic soda package. Juice bar isn’t included and juices are free at breakfast. As i’m ok with mocktails and pop i’m considering this package but wonder what juice is referring too. Also what types of pop do they carry? Edit i think it may be cans, but not 100% sure. What do others think of the value of this package?
