  1. I have not but on their website they offer a day pass for $350 pesos and gets you everything it says...

    DAY PASS

The definite package to enjoy Mahahual at its fullest! Enjoy every single activity the Blue Kay has to offer for only $350 mxn a day!

No sure if that is also for cruise guests. But for $10pp for chairs and just about private beach I am there! oh wait have to wait until this coming august...darn it..lol

The 200 pesos/$10pp includes 200 pesos/$10 for food/drink, so it's really $0 if you were going to get some food and drink each. They quoted me 495 pesos for the day pass, which does not included food and drink, but does include the activities. I don't think we'd take that one anyhow, so not sure why the difference between 495 and 350. i just sent them their own link that shows 350, so I assume that's what it will wind up being if we wanted that option.

  2. I've been communicating today with Blue Kay on Facebook. They quoted me a bracelet that would provide access to their facilities (but not the activities) for 200 pesos and said that "these 200 pesos are returned to you in food consumption in our restaurant." So we pay 200 pesos to get in and then get 200 pesos worth of "free food and drink"? I haven't seen anyone quoted that before. Has anyone been offered this before? Others seem to have gotten in free, but then it's suggested you order food and drink. We'd probably spend $10pp anyhow, so it seems reasonable to me.

  3. Do you need a minimum number of people to get a rate of $10pp, or is it communal transport that leaves at a set time? I find it difficult to believe they would send a personal vehicle for one or even two for that price.

It seems as if they do vary the price of transportation depending on the number of people. We are on an NCL ship so are coming into the Coxen Hole port, which is closer. We are 13 and I was told that they will pick us up in a Hiace Bus that can seat 14.

  4. They communicated back and forth with me very timely over the last couple of days. I have booked them for February at $19pp for used of beach and pool chairs, pool, wifi and a welcome rum punch, plus $10pp transportation (round trip) paid to the driver.

They said they only accept 25 days passes per day (we are 13 on our day) so there won't be a problem getting loungers. No deposit, they just have my name and email. I guess I'll just check in about a week before to make sure they didn't forget about us.

Has anyone used their transportation? They just said a driver with a sign with my name on it will be waiting there starting about 20 minutes before ship arrival time.

  5. How did you like Tropicante? We are booked for that for our Thanksgiving week cruise in a few weeks. I went back and forth between them and Blue Kay and ended up settling on Tropicante.

Tropicante was fine. He did pre-reserve spots for us. I'm wondering if that might be an issue at Blue Kay considering the day we are there has the more cruisers in port that day than any day in Feb. I remember a lot of sea grass and it wasn't a huge beach. We had a nice day, but nothing stand out.

I'm wondering if we should expect Blue Kay to be a little nicer? Can anyone who has been to both comment on that?

  6. Infinity has us booked. $19pp includes a welcome drink and chairs and then we can buy whatever else we want and $10pp round trip trans and they say someone will be waiting for us at the pier. They said they only do 25 day passes per day, so it won't be a problem getting chairs/umbrellas.

    Sounds good to me!

  7. Bananarama is but one resort on West Bay Beach, there are several others.

You can buy the Bananarama package or you can negotiate your own taxi for the day.

The entire beach is public, you can take your own towel and lay out on the sand or you can get a beach chair, sometimes with shade, for about $10.pp from other venues that have beachfront facilities. You can see this marvelous beach quite clearly on Google Earth.

Judging from the number of NCL beach towels we saw the last time we were there, this is where you go if you buy the NCL excursion.

Yes, we've been to Bananarama and had a nice day. I was just wondering if perhaps Paradise, with their pool, might provide a better or even similar, but slightly different experience.

  8. Might be leaning at Paradise Beach instead this time. I'm not sure if they had a non AI day pass last time we were there. Seems like they have a pool and supply towels, which are 2 nicer things to have over Bananarama. Otherwise, it's on the same stretch of beach so the places are very similar? Any reason we wouldn't want to do Paradise Beach over Bananarama?

Or maybe Infinity? They don't offer transportation though? I think as a group of 13, we'd prefer avoiding Roatan taxis and probably too big a group for a private driver so the transportation that Bananarama and Paradise offer is a big plus.

  9. We are coming to Roatan on the NCL Getaway 2/20/18. We were in Roatan 2 years ago and had a very nice day at Banarama and might very well go back, but figured that it would be worth seeing if there might be any better/different options.

We are looking for something not much more than a 20 minute ride from port (about same distance as Banarama is fine) and we don't want an all-inclusive. Just a nice beach where we can reserve (preferably ahead of time) transportation, chairs and umbrellas, can order some food and drinks if we want and maybe some water activities available for rental. A few people may want to dive, so if there's a place we can all go to where some people can dive too, even better.

    Ideas?

  10. We are coming to Costa May on the NCL Getaway 2/22/18. We were in Costa Maya 2 years ago and had a nice day at Tropicante, but figure maybe we'll try something different this time around. It was nice there, nothing stand out (other than the strange wedding/renewal of vows that was going on at the beach).

We are looking for something less than around a 15 minute taxi from port and we don't want an all-inclusive. Just a nice beach where we can reserve (preferably ahead of time) chairs and umbrellas, can order some food and drinks if we want and maybe some water activities available for rental. A few people may want to dive, so if there's a place we can all go to where some people can dive too, even better.

Perhaps Blue Kay fits the bill? Other suggestions?

  11. We are traveling with 2 other parties. I just noticed that for online check-in, we have 9:30am-10am. One of the other parties has 12:00pm-12:30pm.

How much do they force you to stick to what it says on the check-in? Can the party with the 12pm check-in slot show up with us around 10-10:30am and get on with us? For us, not quite sure why I selected 9:30am-10am, but can we show up around 10:15-10:30 instead without issue?

  12. We are on the 4/24 Getaway and are staying 4/23 at a nearby hotel. We really have no need to linger at the hotel and like to be on the ship as early as possible.

So, if we plan to arrive at the pier at 10:30 that's the ideal time so that it won't be too crowded then, we won't have to sit around to long before we board and we'll be among the first people on board?

This is the first NCL cruise for all of us, so we have no loyalty status at all yet.

  13. Here is the person we used on getaway for a 10 person reservation at teppenyaki.

Maybelin Gutierrez | Event Coordinator- Norwegian Getaway

    1-800-327-9020 (ext- 26177) | fax 305-436-4147 specialeventsgetaway@ncl.com

Yep, they were able to help at that email address.

Apparently, MDR can only be reserved at 5:30 or 9:30 for large groups and specialties need to be on the half hour, so we had to revise our schedule a bit, but whoever replied said they received the final revision and will get to it when it comes up in their queue and will then confirm everything.

  14. Looks like it was right before you booked, unfortunately. The terms that were in effect from March 1 until April 6, 2015, specifically included the embarkation day performance. (You can see those terms quoted here.)

If you still want to see the show, try to get the SDP pricing ($17.70 for premium seats) instead of the UDP discount (25%). That may be the price that shows up for your automatically in your MyNCL. But for a group of 13, I would probably call and talk to a real person. And don't book it the first night, that might make you feel better about not getting the free show (since it wouldn't have been free any other night). :)

Too bad. OK, so next question.

Can we get the discount for illusionarium and still eat dinner at another specialty place free the same night?

They quoted me $70.80 for 4 people for premium seating. À

  15. We booked on 4/13/15 with UDP.

I just called NCL and I was told that the first night free for the Illusionarium was already not offered with UDP by the date.

I don't think that's the case. Does anyone know for sure? Any documentation to prove it still was available at the time of our booking?

  16. We are a group of 13 (not linked reservations) on the 4/24 Getaway sailing all with free UDP promo.

What's the process for booking dinner reservations for a group of 13?

I called NCL tonight and the first person gave me a special events number, but seems like I was just routed to normal customers service who then gave me the same number. She then checked further and said that dinner reservations for groups over 12 need to fax in the request and she gave me a fax number to send to. Fax, really?

Was she correct or is there a better way to do this?

Also, quick second question. We can still go free to the a la carte restaurants like Cagney's, Le Bistro and La Cucina with our UDP, right?
