Thanks for he info Sean. Do you know anything about using Filmora? I may have some additional questions in the future. Is VSDC easy to use for those that really don't know what they are doing when it comes to editing video. LOL
I have never used Filmora but most editing programs are the same so I'm sure I'd be able to help somehow. I do a lot of editing at work using DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro .I'm very against anyone paying for video editing software when top of the market programs like Resolve are available.
VSDC is very easy to use and worth a download just to give it a whirl. There's no watermark. Colouring video properly takes quite awhile to learn how to do correctly, and it will probably require you to watch quite a few video tutorials on Youtube.Let me know if I can help.

Are you logged into your account and managing your cruise? I just checked out sailing on the Breeze for October and the water is listed under "in Room Food & Beverages" under the "Categories" drop-down in the top right corner of the Carnival website.

you can not do online check in until it opens. Even if paid in full
That wasn't my question, but thank you.

Try downloading VSDC and using that (it's free).
I'm a senior member of r/GoPro on Reddit and we see these types of questions frequently. GoPro software has notoriously been....hot garbage and I can't recommend it.
If you have any other follow-on questions, don't hesitate to hit me up.

Tyvm we are at about 340 days out so we have a little while to go.
Just some info in case you're considering it, if you buy FTTF you select a check-in time but you can ignore it and check in at the port whenever you want to (after D&P, Suite and wedding guests).

hi Sean, have a great first cruise, don't be sure it's a one and done deal, many of us got hooked and it's a very reasonable vacation. BTW, what does Canada have to do with it, airfares are marginally different.
As others have mentioned, it's the exchange rate. We're essentially losing $0.25 on every dollar.
We're fairly frugal although we both make a good living and the only "luxury" we opted for on the cruise is a balcony cabin and we're costing the entire vacation at about $6000 CAD.
Airfare down and back (and we've got some of the cheapest flights available), a few relatively inexpensive excursions, hotel the night before the cruise, dinner in the steakhouse one night all adds up quickly. We normally do an all-inclusive in Mexico which we typically pay around $2200 for, including air, booze and a rental car for a couple of days.

You are welcome Sean. I try to answer the question asked without throwing in extraneous, unsolicited information.
I hope you have a great cruise. Now I'm going to throw in some extraneous information. Take time to do nothing but relax. You will have new things to experience on your next cruise.
Unfortunately as a Canadian this will be a "one and done" cruise for us, due to the overall cost. We plan to relax and enjoy it though.- 1

Yeah, you have to be logged out of Carnival's website to do this. If you're logged in, they have the expectation you want to do something with your own account.

Correct
That was the most clear explanation I've received. Thank you!

Is the no smoking during refueling only apply to the casino. Will she be able to smoke outside in the designated smoking areas?
There is no smoking throughout the ship when it's being fueled.
If she's that reliant on smoking, a couple of nicotine patches while boarding should do the trick until she can light up.- 1

The only thing you can't print before final payment is the boarding passes. You can print the luggage tags.
So I can do the web check-in before final payment (and pick our check-in time, etc, etc), I just can't print the boarding passes?
I already have the luggage tags saved via PDF.

Your title makes it sound like Carnival has cancelled the program due to the change of supplier.

Have to be paid in full 45 days before the cruise sailing date
Which doesn't even remotely answer the question I asked.

If check-in date for your cruise is before final payment date, you do not have to be paid in full to begin check-in.
You can complete the check-in process in stages if you don't yet have all the information necessary.
Happy sailing.
Thank you. We have all the info and everything is set to go, expect we will not be paying our balance (which is the full price of the cruise minus the deposits we paid) until it's due. I just didn't want that to stop us from being able to do the web check-in.
Much appreciated. -
Our balance is due 27 Jul.
Our online check-in date is 12 Jul.
Can we actually check in before paying the balance of the cruise?
Obviously our first cruise, LOL.

If both of your itineraries are linked (by calling Carnival and speaking to a Rep there to have them do it), then you should be able to buy both drink packages for your two cruises at the same time.

Thanks, I have a 2 day cruise coming up and I wasn’t sure how big of a case I could carry on.
I would say you should be able to do a 2 day cruise with a 10L backpack.

Thank you. I was hoping that was the case with check-in/boarding.
I have another question that I've never really encountered before either. His mom is part of a larger group of women going on the cruise and they all have traditional dining. Her son really does not have a desire to eat with them at night (and I suspect they don't care for him to eat with them either. lol.). Is it possible for him to have anytime dining while she retains traditional dining? I'm not sure what that is called on Carnival. Would he just see the maitre-d' when he boards?
Completely reasonable. He can arrange it when he boards.

$38 for a 5 course dinner? Again the steak alone at Ruth's Chris is close to $50
But are they comparable quality? I've eaten quite a few meals at Ruth's Chris and found them to be simply overpriced. I can get the same quality steak at The Keg and pay $40 for the entire meal.

The ship will not be an issue unless they change their policy(always a possibility) BUT the airline can be. Last flight the person in front had 2 packs taken by security. They were told to check it or toss it. Fire risk for in flight.
I know others that make it through but to be safe, I would not carry it on the flight.
This is ridiculous because the FAA specifically says battery packs must be carried in the main cabin compartment and not placed in checked baggage. They are considered hazardous material and special considerations have to be made if the batteris are being carried in the cargo compartment. Those special considerations, including paperwork, are simply not going to be made for someone's external battery bank for their cell phone. This is why you have to declare any hazardous goods in your luggage when flying; they either make you take it out, or dispose of it.
Flight Attendants have fireproof bags in their storage compartments that are used in case of a fire with one of the battery packs. Having a fire in the luggage compartment of an aircraft is a lot scarier. I know more about aircraft than your typical traveler thanks to my job in the Air Force and I know all about the fire suppression systems in most commercial aircraft. They're usually not enough to put out a LiOn fire.
I'm calling BS on this one.

Question to the group.........
With the Cheers program, can we buy drinks for other people and put them on our sign and sail card separately and not on our Cheers account?
Yes you can. Carnival specifically states this on their website.

OP - It may look like hotels are filled but many don't release rooms until 11 or so months in advance so you may just be looking too early. Try again in a few weeks and you should find much more availability.
This is exactly it. We had our eye on a hotel for our cruise in Oct 2020 when we booked in April 2019. We kept looking in hopes that a room would become available and in frustration I called the hotel. The lady on the phone said that they (and the majority of hotel chains in the world) don't release rooms until 11 months before the scheduled check-out date, which is key to remember. For most of us on a one-nighter before a cruise it's not a big deal, but for someone maybe on a business trip who needs 3-7 days in the same location, they would have to wait until the rooms are released for their check-out date before booking their stay.
As expected, the rooms at the hotel we wanted to stay at were released 10 months and 28 days before our expected departure (I was checking every day) and we booked as soon as they became available.
I hope this helps Op and anyone else who might come across this thread in the future.

If you can't drink because of a medical condition and your wife is a waif and you go to bed before midnight on vacation, then why on Earth are you posting on an alcoholic thread..
If you started with...Cheers is not for us because of a medical condition I have and my wife is a light drinker, then that is acceptable. Just don't use the port excuse as a reason to not buy the program. There are many who can drink 2 alcoholic drinks per day and after supplementing with many variations of non alcoholic consumption, they still reach their numbers. Happy cruising without Cheers.
I never said I don't drink; I said one drink every 90 minutes would probably kill me. Reading comprehension is a thing and there's a big difference between the two.

No cruises out of port everglades this summer
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted · Edited by Sean_B
Not quite true. This was a hot topic on our Roll Call group the other day. It's simply a matter that Carnival just doesn't sail out of of Port Everglades from May-Sept of any year. If you look at their website, those dates are blocked for 2020, 2021 and 2022. I'm pretty sure it was the same for last year as well.
The port isn't closing for those dates; the Carnival ships that are there will just relocate for other itineraries. RCCL, Norwegian and Princess are still sailing out of FLL during that time period so it's obvious that the port isn't closing. It's one of the busiest ports in Florida, so it's not just going to close. There's also no information about it closing on the port's website.
