SB fans all know that the Thomas Keller Grill is history.  But TK does live on, in a sense since tonight, they are having the ole Fried Chicken dinner in the Colonnade.  This used to be called a special TK meal, but now, although the menu is nearly the same, the reference to TK is gone.

Interesting I thought the Encore class ships were not outfitted with the fryer that could do TK Fried Chicken. I wonder if by not having to use TK name they can get away making good ole normal fried chicken? 😊

If you are looking for a cruise on Seabourn Encore, my bet is that Seabourn is trying to figure out how to get Encore to the Mediterranean after her cruise ending in Singapore on March 2, 2025. The next cruise that my online agency lists is June 1, 2025 from Dubrovnik. Blame the Houthis.

It has been figured out. Singapore to Kobe to Hawaii to LA to Miami via Panama, to Lisbon to Rome. As our Red Sea was cancelled they are doing two Ocean crossings versus going empty around Cape.

Dubrovnik added in as additional choice.

We who are cancelled are getting first dibs!!! Yahoo!

  3. We to saw suite availability Friday last and as you say now sold out. As mentioned by Papapaddington above Encore Itineraries are not listed on Cruisemapper for the 2024 sail to and the March 2025 return. Our bet, the cruise is cancelled. Not pleased we have had no communication from Seabourn on this as it is becoming more difficult to find attractive itineraries. This lack of response has driven us to look at other cruise line offers as we want to be cruising in March 2025.

  4. Probably to do with the Red Sea, Singapore to Athens in March /25, we are booked and are hearing nothing. Tried cruise consultant on our recent Ovation cruise, no info, think they've were told to say nothing. Hopefully if the ships are heading to that area in fall 2024, lots of wasted time cruising bare boat fro & back they will come up with an interesting replacement.

  5. texanaust … Interesting post. I agree on Seabourn Letterhead this pushes the offensive line, but I wonder:

Pursuit is a new ship, likely not attracting experienced “seabourners”. Maybe their crew fund is light and they are seeing a high preponderance of American clientele handshaking unruly amounts of cash to individual crew.  I hesitate to identify American clients, but face it “youse” guys are over the top on your tipping.

Maybe they are simply saying there is a better way, so that all crew get a chunk???

Feel free to castigate me now, let’er rip!!!

We have Solis Reservations on Ovation March 6 & 13.

Interesting when we first booked Solis the earliest date we could get was April 7, went back month later and was able to get the 2nd. They must of advanced the opening to include more of the end of the Caribbean season. We now have 3 reservation dates.

  7. We have yet to have a bad experience with FlightEase, booking odd itineraries, i.e. home to embark point, disembark point to home from different continents all handled with ease and if the airlines change flight schedules, no cost to you. Your may pay more, likely you will pay less for what you can do on your own. We no longer have a mass of points to use so we find this a very useful solution.

We look at it as you are making a big cruise spend, why the need to nickel and dime the cost to get to where you need to be to do that.

  8. Pepilachat, The fact you are asking and from your responses to some rather blunt comments tells me you are a responsible parent who considers others. With your attitude I have no doubt you will enjoy your cruise and do well..

Some of us on Seabourn, including ourselves, have experienced the entitled parents who are of the belief “our baby walks on water” so you to should bow in reverence.

We who have babies and children in our lives know how a simple bug in a child can turn into major cold or flu for an adult who is not exposed to that demographic regularly, hopefully, if your baby exhibits such issue you will isolate.

  9. Carnival Corp runs the casinos and I am pretty sure they made the blackjack payout 6:5 across all lines. Be sure to confirm with the dealer what the payout is as that is a suckers game. There are no perks in the Seabourn casino ... well for them there are.

  10. We have had the pleasure of benefitting from a corporate reward event, was held at Maui Weston Kaanapali. When onsite we used the convention rooms for all entertainment and banquets so any use of hotel facilities was small groups or couples.

I cannot imagine that event being held on a ship that was not a full charter and for our taste days moored at a beach vs. many ports.

We have experienced a multi-generational family group on Spirit which destroyed the dynamic and really tested the crew. Our 1st Seabourn and we learned never do 7 day BTB’s.

If Seabourn is so desperate for this market segment they should notify regular  guests of a mass booking and give them the option to cancel with full refund or rebook both with a healthy OBC.

Sorry guess this has gone off topic.

I replied to a similar post on Seabourn Sailors who posted there was a group of 237 Australians currently on board the Encore.  I said we had a corporate group of 250 Mexicans on board in May and I was called a  Racist for saying ‘Mexicans’ although merely agreeing that a large Corporate group did alter the dynamics of a cruise for the Guests.

Saw that, then the entire thread was disappeared. Methinks some people need to consult a dictionary, since when did nationality become race?

Apparently, “peoplekind” from down under no longer have the thick skin I experienced living there 45 years ago!! 😇
