Are you saying 5 HDs from Royal just moved to MSC?
This is what I am trying to confirm. Met someone in Coastal Kitchen on Allure who gave me this info - but she could not remember the names.

Does anyone know what happened to Rodney Darwin?
Carla
Heard 5 HDs were hired by MSC. Does anyone know who?

Headed home from Liberty. Booked this TA on board. Hope a regular roll call page opens soon here. !
Hi Karen
Welcome aboard. Happy Anniversary. Please give Bill a hug from us. So glad you are joining us.

Just a heads up. Many people that booked on Tuesday where incorrectly charged $130 per person ($260 for 2 people) for taxes and port fees. The correct amount is $63.48 per person ($126.96 for two). Although they will probably catch that eventually, you should check your confirmation and see if you were overcharged. I called Royal Caribbean tonight and they should be fixing it on Monday and sending me an updated confirmation.
I just called C&A and was repriced and received my booking copy. She said the taxes and fees were $70.73 per person ($141.46 for two).

Hi
We too are booked. We like transatlantics. :D

oops. The "free cruise" starts at 700 points and then at 350 intervals
-
Despite the RCCL declaration of priority to free or "up sell" Pinnacles, the truthis once at that level almost never are either offered. In fact a subject often discussed by Pinnacles is that when aboard a ship they learn that much lower levels get them. Also the so called "free" cruise is a misnomer and are awarded at 700 cruise point intervals. Glass blocks are awarded to all cruisers who reach a certain cruise point ( I believe 140)and then every 70 thereafter.

Capt Carl is still on the Empress.

Than you for keeping this board
-
Captain Ron is still on the Allure for the President's Cruise. I have not seen Captain Tore walking around but will look for him.

Thanks for the updates. Does everyone feel that any Boardwalk cabin would be fine??
I normally get an accessible cabin and see The Allure has two accessible cabins open but they are on DECK 14, and those cabins are more in the middle of the floor versus the far end like a 12729, even though I'm sure we could still see a little of the water, but not the theater.
Thanks again.

Be careful about selecting a cabin on Deck 14. Deck 15 is the sports deck with activities around the clock as well as significant motor noise from water amenities. Cabins under/close by those motors can be very noisy.

Will a cruise line actually allow a passenger to advertise this?
I suspect they will take it down if they see it
To my knowledge, RCCL has not taken it down.
-
Another suggestion: While on board there is always a bulletin board. Post that you will exchange $ for Eu ( or other currency needed) at internet posted exchange rate and suggest if interested, call your cabin #.
-
If you have an ATM card from your bank this is the most effective way to exchange that I have found. My BOA account was just a few cents off the daily exchange rate per transaction !

ATM is the best bet, especially if you have a card that has no foreign transaction fee.

Boardwalk and Central Park each ave their own qualities and issues so that it boils down to personal preference. We prefer Boardwalk but are really happy in both. Be aware that Central Park balconies close to the stern may well be subject to the large fan circulation noise and wind on the balcony. Other cabins there a re probably the quietest. Cabins on the boardwalk and toward the aft give an ocean view, ocean breeze and fantastic view of the water shows. As to decks, we prefer decks 8 through 12. There is no 13 and Deck 14 is a sports deck that can result in cabin noise round the clock.

It gets even colder on formal nights. Bring a cover!!

With RCCL, the BOGO Hoax and similar advertising gimmicks are alive and well. While there may be a few real price reductions most bottom lines are either the same or more. Advertising credibility is an issue.

Although the menus of both are the same fleet wide, the quality of the meal you receive often varies between the ships and even can vary as between different kitchen staff. For example on more than one occasion doing a back to back and visiting the same restaurant on both, when the kitchen staff changed so did the quality of our meal. It seems Chops is more susceptible for this to happen.

We are very happy when the Casino is full of smoke. We don't enter, we don't make a contribution to RCCL bottom line and we save money.

We do one-way car rentals.
However, Do NOT use Budget because they do not pick up at the pier, told us to take a taxi at our expense:mad:
We have successfully used Dollar, drop the car off at the Miami airport and their free shuttle goes right to the pier and picks up at the pier for the return car pickup.
